About Ethan & Fabiane

It started years ago with a dream in the desert, a small house in the middle of nowhere overlooking thousands of baron acreage bordering Joshua Tree National Park. When Ethan and Fabiane purchased the home, it was initially painted all white with minimal landscaping and described by friends and family as a “sterile box without personality.” But what they envisioned was a house of infinite possibilities. As avid rock climbers and desert dwellers, they looked at their home as part of the desert; a living and breathing organism. They brought in top designers and landscapers to mirror the conceptual mix of colors of the desert, blues and greens representing the sky, yellows and reds like the sunrises and sunsets, and browns and tans like the mountains. They named their home Joshua Tree Oasis (JTO) and took great pride in their life-long creation.

Being big believers in Karma and the feeling that the beauty and love that they poured into the house would be reciprocated, they opened their doors to the world and began to share their Oasis as a vacation rental with others. They only wanted renters they felt would love and respect JTO’s appearance and cleanliness as much as they did. They take great care to get to know their clientele and will personally speak with each customer prior to renting to them to begin a relationship based upon mutual trust.

Ethan & Fabiane purchased this house in 2000

A little bit of heaven in Joshua Tree

  • 5 of 5

This is the place to rejuvenate the spirit. Set inside the rocky landscape, the house offers incredible views, great comfort and style, and one incredible hot tub (and bathtub). The owners were easy to contact and ready to help. They provide excellent guide books to the park -- very thoughtful touches throughout. We have rented houses all over the world, and this is one of the best.

Oasis Indded!

  • 5 of 5

My college friends and I gathered here to celebrate our 30-year friendship, which coincided with the 30-year anniversary of the U2 album. Joshua Tree Oasis provided us a great location to reminisce, re-connect, and stage various hikes in the national park (including one that started from the backyard itself). Between the beautiful, seemingly all-by-itself location, the wonderful and imaginative decor and landscaping, and the restorative hot tub (with great star gazing as an added bonus), everything was top notch. I very much look forward to returning with family and friends in the future!

Amazing house and location

  • 5 of 5

I stayed here for a weekend with 5 other girlfriends and we had the best time ever! The property is completely secluded with beautiful views of the valley and Joshua Tree. You literally can not get any closer to the park. The house is beautifully decorated and has everything you will need and more. It was very spacious with both houses for the 6 of us to spread out, but also had a very communal feel. We had so much fun at the house we didn't even do the hikes and outings we had originally planned.

The owners have thought of everything to make your stay a memorable one. I have stayed at quite a few rental homes in Joshua Tree and we all agreed this was by far the best one ever.

Privacy, comfort, beauty

  • 5 of 5

The location of the JTO house will get you to Joshua Tree National Park in minutes. But, it is also a house in which it is wonderful to spend time. The physical location and the beautiful landscaping provide lots of privacy while taking in the views. Inside, the house Is comfortable, well equipped, and decorated with fun and interesting objects. The hot tub is great for a post-hike soak or to keep warm while star gazing. We plan to return yearly!

Five-Stars and Fresh Air!

  • 5 of 5

What can I possibly be said about this place that hasn't been said already?

Enter your own private oasis that sits upon acres of unexplored boulders and joshua trees. Our group consisted of 8 guys that were looking to spend some quality time hiking and hanging out. It had been sometime since our group had all been together. The property was perfect. The fire pit out back was the perfect spot to hang around at night. Make sure to bring a ton of firewood (we literally went through 16 bundles in two nights because it was so cold). The jacuzzi is a great spot to soak in the view of your surroundings. The privacy I think was very key. You have a few neighbors in the distance, but you are essentially secluded from everyone. Saturday afternoon around 3:30 we all grabbed our backpacks with water, 2 bottles of wine and our headlamps and took to the desert. We climbed to the top of the very large boulders that sit directly across from the house. When we reached the very top we opened the bottle of wine and enjoyed a breathtaking sunset. All around you was purple skies as it started to get darker. After dark we turned our headlamps on and took the long way home cruising through the uninhabited desert. It was honestly breathtaking and so peaceful.

Our group of friends that came together for the trip (some from NYC, some from Germany) decided that we were going to get together once a year at this exact house from here on out. It was just too perfect.
