About Ethan & Fabiane

It started years ago with a dream in the desert, a small house in the middle of nowhere overlooking thousands of baron acreage bordering Joshua Tree National Park. When Ethan and Fabiane purchased the home, it was initially painted all white with minimal landscaping and described by friends and family as a “sterile box without personality.” But what they envisioned was a house of infinite possibilities. As avid rock climbers and desert dwellers, they looked at their home as part of the desert; a living and breathing organism. They brought in top designers and landscapers to mirror the conceptual mix of colors of the desert, blues and greens representing the sky, yellows and reds like the sunrises and sunsets, and browns and tans like the mountains. They named their home Joshua Tree Oasis (JTO) and took great pride in their life-long creation.

Being big believers in Karma and the feeling that the beauty and love that they poured into the house would be reciprocated, they opened their doors to the world and began to share their Oasis as a vacation rental with others. They only wanted renters they felt would love and respect JTO’s appearance and cleanliness as much as they did. They take great care to get to know their clientele and will personally speak with each customer prior to renting to them to begin a relationship based upon mutual trust.

Ethan & Fabiane purchased this house in 2000

Boulder Perfection!

  • 5 of 5

What an extraordinary home, a delight for all who are lucky enough to pass through the threshold of The Joshua Tree Oasis. My husband and I are fortunate, as this was our second stay at JTO. The first excursion was with family, and the second, a planned vacation with friends. Both experiences could not have been more desirable in any other setting, anywhere. At every turn, in each corner, there is something to experience and enjoy, let alone the magnificence of the landscape surrounding the home. JTO is an assemblage of life enfolded into the monzogranite desertscape, a gem to seek and behold as often as one can manage. Wake to bold views captured in a multicolored kaleidoscope of color layered in clouds refracting the rising sun. Recline luxuriously while soaking in the Jacuzzi becoming a god/goddess in the shadows of the setting sun. Climb, climb, climb! Boulder perfection awaits your touch, striking land begging to be discovered just seconds away. Be calm, be happy, and be encompassed in the passion of the desert, JTO.

I feel like I need to create one of those quick movie trailer quips that try to embody the total experience…

“Fabulous with a bit of perfection mixed in.”

“An absolutely sumptuous, and majestic desert offering.”

But I’m not sure such quips could ever do JTO true justice. One must experience the pleasure of JTO to know.

Incredibly tasteful and beautiful property!

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I needed to get out of LA for a little writing retreat. We were looking for a nice place with lots of peace and quiet and a little comfort too. JTO more than met our expectations. Situated on acres of beautiful desert property on the border of the Joshua Tree National Park, it is an extraordinary place to get away from it all.

It was just the two of us, so we stayed only in the main house, but there is a super cool guest house next door that has a couple more bedrooms (and I think a bathroom?). The home itself has two bedrooms, two bathrooms a beautiful common space (with wood burning fireplace) and is incredibly well maintained and tastefully decorated. So much cool and fun art! In addition there is a hot tub and a "cowboy spa" (an aluminum swimming pool). The weather was too cool for us to enjoy these, but we plan on returning and giving them a whirl.

At the end of the day, the draw here is nature. The "rock piles" of Joshua Tree are all around you and it is incredibly beautiful and dramatic. Lots of wildlife too (coyotes, tons of birds, etc). We took long walks and a million pictures. Just gorgeous. This place would be great for a couple like us or if you're traveling with friends. And with all that nature to explore, I think it would be tremendous for families too.

Only Caveat: You're a bit far out of town (not remote... but a bit of a drive), so make sure you do all your shopping first. You're not going to want to leave!

Already plotting our next return! Thanks for a great weekend JTO!

Truly beautiful inside and out.

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful experience: three generations together. The property is magnificent. We saw coyotes, a bobcat, roadrunners, quail, jackrabbits and breathtaking sunrises.

Thank you so much.

The house and property are spectacular. You can literally walk from the backyard into the Desert View Conservation Area and Joshua Tree National Park. Breathtaking setting

  • 5 of 5

We had a family party over a weekend and loved the house, the land, the quiet, the beauty. Everywhere you look, the views are amazing. It was very special to be there and I felt grateful to the owners that they would share their home with strangers. We would love to return. Thank you.
