This house has vaulted wood ceilings and hardwood floors. There is a huge backyard with small hills for sleding. Recently renovated, it has new appliances and updated appearance.

Only 5 Miles from Northstar at Tahoe, you can actually see the slopes from the backyard. Biking and horseback riding in the summer.

For the kids, we have a play room, tree fort, and a 'ground' fort.

About Mike Junemann

I bought this house because I love skiing and snowboarding. I usually need to be in Sacramento area for the weekends, so renting-out the Truckee house for the weekends makes a lot of sense. I usually can't get back up there until Monday or later, which is why I usually offer Sunday nights for free(sometimes Monday night too).

Summer in Tahoe is great for fishing, biking, hiking, etc. But, as I mentioned earlier, I got the house for boarding and skiing. So, if you like summer sports, that is the time when I give the best deals.

Mike Junemann purchased this house in 2009

Why Mike Junemann chose Truckee

I wanted to have a place to go near skiing, and Northstar was my favorite ski resort. I loved this location because it is a secluded neighborhood, yet it is a short drive from freeways. The fact that the house was so great was just a bonus. I really love the location relative to restaurants, skiing, woods, downtown, and recreation of all kinds.

What makes this house unique

I like that BOTH of the heaters in this house are oversized for the task. The house can be heated very promptly.

The large driveway, and extra parking areas are great for when I have lots of guests.

Group snowboard trip

  • 5 of 5

The Truckee Ski House was awesome for our trip. Our group of 10 fit very comfortably with more room to spare. This is good to know since we plan to make this an annual trip and the # of participants will continue to grow. The house had a nice modern feel and had everything we needed. A few who didn't have their own gear saved a lot of $$ by using the rentals provided in the garage. Northstar is less than 10 minutes away and Squaw Valley about 20 minutes. Our favorite was the poolroom and backyard. Built some kicker ramps and had some mean snowball battles in the backyard (yes we're adults haha). The only thing missing was a private hot tub which is being installed in a couple months.

We will hopefully be back next year and with that new hot tub it'll be PERFECT! Thanks Mike!

Truckee Cabin

  • 4 of 5

Mike was great to work with us and our summer family reunion group. We enjoyed the big open room with kitchen, dining and living area together. The bedrooms had lots of room for sleeping accommodations. The location was perfect for visiting Truckee and Reno for shopping and dining, and being close to Lake Tahoe for paddling, kayaking and swimming. Please let Mike know ahead of time ALL the amenities you would like to use. Unfortunately the washer and the swim spa currents were unavailable at the time of our visit. We were able to use the hot tub. It is in a beautiful and quiet neighborhood.

Large, well-situated house. Great for a large group

  • 5 of 5

Our group of 18 friends came here for the weekend to go skiing at Northstar, and the place was easily able to accommodate all of us (sharing beds, of course) with room for a couple more. The house was located very close to the resort, and close to shops and restaurants in Truckee.

We left a set of skis at the house in our attempt to leave, and the owner has been very communicative and helpful in getting those back to us.

for the price house was adequate

  • 3 of 5

Location was great and Mike was good to work with. Disappointed that one of the TV's was missing and that the DVD player did not work. Our stay was 5 nights so this was a bit of an inconvenience. Otherwise, the house was clean and kitchen adequately stocked with dishes. Could have used a few more bowls for serving meals but we were creative and managed with the variety available. Pool table area was musty so we did not use it at all, but the workbench area was great in the other garage.

A nice place located near many fun activities

  • 5 of 5

A nice place to relax that is nearby many places for having a good time. Nearby skiing resorts if some of your group are into that and also close to both Reno and Tahoe for nice restaurants and clubs for others. A very clean place with a number of activities like the pool table in the place. For a lower key outing, there is also a nearby bar/restaurant that has good hamburgers and other bar style food.

Please note: I do not check email often, so you will reach me much faster by phone. Also, I find that questions and answers go much faster by phone. So, if you're looking for a last-minute booking you should definitely call. And, even if it is not last-minute, when emailing please include your phone number in your inquiry.
Also, I prefer not to rent to anyone unless I have spoken to them.
Please CALL for accurate information regarding discounts, short notice specials, etc.

Additional fees for pets, though we often waive these fees. This is based on how much time we have between your stay and the next group(We want to have lots of time to clean at least twice, just in case the next group has allergies).

If you prefer to book online, please call first. I find that tenants are much happier to hear details, options, and corrections to online booking info.
Also note: There are additional fees for several options including hot tub use. Vrbo will not allow for most optional fees. If I input the hot tub, they will always charge for the hot tub, even if the tenant decides not to use it. If you book online, additional charges may apply based on your chosen dates.
