Our family thoroughly enjoyed our week stay at this wonderful home.
It was not only filled with charming nostalgia, it was also completely updated to provide us with all of our technology needs. TV in every room, WIFI, you name it.
Only six of us stayed in the house this time, but there was plenty of room for more people. There were also many places we could go to get away from others: two porches, dining area, living area, and the back yard. The front porch was charmingly reminiscent of our favorite grandmother’s porch. After a day we had all developed our own unique routines, and no cars were necessary. Each day my husband walked to the convenience store to pick up the newspaper. He found an adorable inexpensive gym to fill his workout needs. I on the other hand found I could walk to Mass each morning along Bridge Street that was lined with petunias that were watered daily and also walk to the supermarket after Mass. There are many different churches within walking distance.
One cousin spent most days at the beach (she walked there), others walked to shops, and the marina. The neighbors were friendly and it is truly one of the loveliest towns I’ve ever been to. I live in California and thought nothing could compare to the towns we have here, but I was wrong. We also rented bicycles and rode around the town. Of the many wonderful restaurants my favorite was Scovies Gourmet where we would pick up a sandwich to take home or have a light supper. One night they served the stuffed pepper soup, the best soup we’ve ever had.
This trip we rented two homes as we expected a large number of people (there were only 13 of us this time), and this one was the best of the two.
One night several of us took a catamaran out to view the sunset, and other nights we would simply walk to the beach to see the beautiful sunsets. My husband and I fulfilled our Friday afternoon movie ritual by walking to the charming little movie theater where we had some of the best popcorn ever.
If we ever have the opportunity to stay in Charlevoix again, we will definitely stay in this lovely home.
Sincerely,
Donna Doran, San Jose, California
Great stay. Very nice, neat, clean house with everything we needed, and more. Super location, short walk into town. Old house, but beautifully remodeled. Great value. No need to look anywhere else.
We could not have been happier with our stay. In total, 6 adults and three children 3 and under stayed here very comfortably (with room to spare). The house looks better than the pictures, is well maintained and in a great location to enjoy all that is Charlevoix. We would rent this property again and in fact are already looking at next summer!
This cottage is lovely and very well taken care of. It has a wonderful layout that allowed me and my family to cook, eat and have a relaxing time. We appreciate all the care the owner has taken to provide a warm and homey atmosphere. The location is an added bonus. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
we came here with my sister's family of 4; there were 4 adults and 3 kids under 5, it was wonderfully spacious and great to be able to walk a few blocks to town and the beaches. owners were extremely nice. we used the bonus room upstairs as a BR, so the everyone had their own rooms. there is no AC, but that is fine since the house is nicely shaded and it never was hot enough to need it. bring your own food/spices/toilet paper/shampoo and soap. would definitely come back again if we are in this area. very clean and not cluttered like many vacation rentals!
The home is centrally located and within walking distance of the downtown. It worked out extremely well for my family and gave us the flexibility to run to the beach, head down for dinner and many other things.
The home has a lot of great attributes, full appliance package and a washer/dryer which was perfect after the beach.
We would gladly recommend this home to families heading up north!
