About Linda

We relocated from California over 30 years ago, and love New York, especially the Upper West Side. The park is our backyard. We picnic, run, bike, play tennis, attend free concerts, and shows. Winters in our 'backyard' often allows us to sled, ski, and skate.

We love dining, and are so fortunate to have every type of cuisine and ethnicity within walking distance from our home.

Travels away from home take to exotic locations to explore, and play. Scuba diving is one of many passions, as well as skiing, and Yankees Baseball.

Linda purchased this apartment in 1994

What makes this apartment unique

Guestbook comments from the owner

Hi Linda,

I stayed at your vacation rental apartment for three days the second week in May, and have been meaning to e-mail you to say thank you. Sorry this is a belated thank you, but it's been crazy-busy here.

The apartment was absolutely immaculate and lovely, better than I could have imagined. I was impressed at how thoughtfully you had stocked the fridge and supplied all sorts of toilettries in the bathroom. And I loved having that wonderful big bathtub to soak in the day that I walked from W 83rd all the way down to 21st Street and back again! The neighbourhood was great - so conveniently located -- and I always felt safe, even when walking home from supper at the nearby restaurants in the evening after dark.

I've kept your contact info to give to any friends who might be wanting to visit your wonderful city, and if I'm lucky enough to be able to return to NYC, I will definitely be contacting you again to stay at your apartment.

Thanks again for making my days on my own in NYC safe and comfortable.

Very best regards,

RTF

WONDERFUL Owners and WONDERFUL place to stay!!

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Owners we very very helpful in helping us learn how to navigate the UWS as well as NYC. Great suggestions on food, shopping and events in the local area and how to get around. The apartment was just perfect for what we needed. Greeted with a refrigerator full of goodies and waters. Just a wonderful experience. My husband and I are already talking about coming back to NYC just for some plays and dinner - and this is the apartment we would stay in again. Loved it!

Wonderful and very well stocked ground floor brownstone apartment right off Central Park

  • 5 of 5

This was definitely the most well stocked apartment we have ever rented. Actual apartment was as advertised. No negative surprises. Real surprises were on the positive side. This included lots of snacks, jams, cereal, coffee, hot chocolate, etc etc. Even included rain slickers, umbrellas, picnic pack. Barely had to buy anything. Location is right off Central Park. Even though ground floor apartment there was not much street noise. Murphy Bed was very comfortable. Location is close to many good restaurants and great access to subway system. Check in and checkout without any issues. Highly recommended.

A Perfect Place for a Niece/Aunt Trip

  • 5 of 5

This was my second stay at Linda's fabulous apartment and I had the same "perfect" experience as my first time. Linda is a gracious hostess - helpful when needed, thoughtful with itinerary suggestions, but never hovering. The apartment was perfect for this niece/aunt duo. Booking was straight forward and efficient. The Murphy bed is comfortable; pillows and linens are quality and sleep is undisturbed with virtually no street noise. The kitchen is furnished with basic needs and a quick trip over to Zabar's allows for in-house cooking - but with so many wonderful and inexpensive restaurants right around the corner - who wants to cook? Perhaps one of the best reasons to stay here is the superior location. Being right next to Central Park is delightful with a short ten-minute walk through the park to the Metropolitan Museum. The subway is a few minutes walk away and with Columbus, Amsterdam and Broadway Avenues all nearby, neighborhood shopping is convenient. Laundry services are close and reasonably priced for same day pick-up. The neighborhood is quiet and local, yet at the same time, The Museum of Natural History is two short blocks away. We loved the décor of the apartment - eclectic, with just the right amount of modern conveniences. This was my niece's first trip to NYC and I am certain with this stellar experience, she is already planning her next trip - I know we are.

Great space,location, and owner

  • 5 of 5

Linda was so helpful and pleasant. She makes you feel welcome and is very thoughtful of travelers by providing extra amenities such as toiletries, snacks, bottled water, and coffee. The space is adequate for two people and is very clean. The location is excellent as it is less than 5 minutes from the subway that can take you anywhere in the city and is also super close to Central Park. The neighborhood is safe with a multitude of dining options within walking distance. My Daughter and I had a fabulous time and would definitely stay here in the future.

Perfect

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay at this location. Linda met us on our arrival to the apartment and gave us a tour. She made sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our stay in the city. The apartment has everything you need. The subway is only two blocks away and is conveniently located to many popular locations in the city (Metropolitan Museum of Art, The Museum of Natural History, Times Square, The Lincoln Center and many more). One of the perks is that Central Park is so close. We come to New York City regularly and this is one of the best places we have stayed at and would recommend this location to anyone. In fact the next time we visit New York City we hope to stay here again.

Comfy, cozy apartment! Steps away from Central Park

  • 5 of 5

There's really nothing to add that hasn't already been said. Linda is a terrific, responsive hostess. She had the fridge stocked with plenty of coffee and snacks. The apartment is clean, comfortable and quiet. Perfect location--a short walk to fantastic restaurants, Central Park, subway.
