We just spent this past weekend in this beautiful home. Two families stayed together. We had a wonderful relaxing time! We played games, spent time at the pool of which we were the only ones there and we also did a little shopping in Historic Downtown Marion and the surrounding area. We also visited the Lake James Winery. We had a mix of sun and rain. The view from the house is beautiful! My daughters ages 6 and 13 enjoyed putting the Scooby Doo puzzle together in the loft. We will definitely be back for another visit. Thank you for the hospitality!!
My family of four (which includes two teenage girls) and another family of four (which includes two very young children) stayed June 10-13, 2010. I was quite anxious about renting sight unseen, but was ecstatic when we arrived and entered the house! It was extremely clean, inviting and roomy - large enough for everyone to have time alone if they needed in separate rooms/areas and roomy enough for everyone to be together at the same time. The deck was wonderful making the outdoors so inviting on the cool evenings. My family traveled to Biltmore which was only a 45 minute drive from the cabin. Our friends with the small children went to Tweetsie Railroad - about an hour away. We will definitely return - maybe this time for an adults only weekend as it would be a great place for a "friends gathering" - it's secluded, peaceful and relaxing. Thanks for your hospitality, Sharon. P.S. We enjoyed the smores!
Our family enjoyed our getaway so much! View and cabin was beautiful, pictures don't do it justice. Had everything we needed and more. Even had holiday decorations up. I really felt relaxed and did not want to go home. Perfect place for a home away from home. We will be back.
We spent 3 nights in this spacious, clean, and welcoming cabin overlooking Pisgah National Forest. The owners have done an amazing job creating a perfect place to get-away! Whether you're inside or out, the cabin is configured to allow you to enjoy the outside scenery- with the floor to ceiling windows, wrap around deck, and fire circle. We spent much of our time hanging out on the deck enjoying the amazing view of Pisgah's iconic Table Rock. We felt totally relaxed inside, crashed on the cozy sofas near the fireplace, a large screen TV, and view out the window. The spotless kitchen had everything that we needed to prepare and serve meals in the dining area or outside on the deck. The bedrooms and bathrooms were very clean. Our group was only 4, however it seemed like there were enough beds for a group of 8 to 10. We found the location to be very convenient for our motorcycling day trip on the Blue Ridge Parkway and half-day rock climbing adventure at Table Rock! We can't wait to return to this home for more relaxing, exploring, and adventure!
My family and I stayed at this property for a weekend trip back home for my Grandmother's 80th birthday. We were looking for a location that could suit our needs as far as location and amenities and this house had it all! The view from inside the home and the deck looking across the meadow is breath taking! I wish we would've had time to enjoy the board games that are stocked within the home but our event schedule kept us busy. The linens for towels and sheets were top notch and soft! The closet space was UNBELIEVABLE (wish I had packed more clothes just to hang them up). Even though we only ate at the cabin a couple times there were plenty of pots, pans, serving ware etc for our needs. Sharon was very easy to communicate with and was always efficient to respond. We look forward to renting here again!
Our family of four has stayed in several cabins over the years in Tennessee and North Carolina. This home is our favorite. Everything promised in the description is accurate. The only details missing are that it's even nicer than it sounds. It is a great house, fabulous wrap around porch, very nice community, nice pool -- everything we wanted. The owners are helpful even going the extra mile of mailing a book that we left.
