Central City/Garden District Apartment Rental Photos and Description

Apartment, 2 Bedrooms, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 4)

We bought this house on the street behind us in 2008 and did a complete historic renovation on it. It's nice. We have two large bedrooms, both with queen beds and personality. Only one bath, but it's got a Jacuzzi tub. The kitchen is small, but you're not coming to New Orleans to eat in. A nice living room, stereo, cable Flat Screen TV, lots of CDs and DVDs and books, and WiFi. All very comfortable. The one downside is that this is the second floor, so you have to climb stairs. But then you get the front gallery (porch) you can hang out on as a reward.

And we love our location. We're one house off Magazine street, right in the coolest section. Tons of great restaurants, bars, shopping of all kinds, coffeehouses - Magazine is a great street. And we're more than happy to give you all the guides and suggestions you need. We're locals, and know our way around New Orleans.

We're also inside the parade route, so we're only a few blocks from the Mardi Gras parades in a couple of directions.

We also have two other properties across the street available for guests or larger parties. View: and

Why Elena Reeves-Walker chose Central City/Garden District

We live in the house behind this house (facing the next parallel street) and have our offices on the first floor. There is a shared yard in between.

What makes this apartment unique

Location, location, location! We are one house off Magazine on Antonine St. Lilette Restaurant is right on the corner and Baru Restaurant is a block away, also Le Petite Grocery, Coquette, Saveur, Shaya, Cavan... Plus, there are over 30 other restaurants within walking distance, plus boutiques, antique stores, interior design shops, cafes, a grocery store, and art galleries.

The apartment is cozy and modern with a New Orleans touch... a perfect perch for your New Orleans experience!

We also have gated off-street parking.

Beautiful house and great location

Very pleased with the experience, the house was gorgeous and well maintained. Close to everything Magazine Street has to offer and within walking distance to the trolley. I would definitely recommend staying here to anyone considering a trip to New Orleans.

Prefect in every way... highly recommend

  • 5 of 5

In New Orleans, location is everything. The Antonine House is ideal for families or anyone that wants an easy walk to some of the city's best restaurants and shops, and super close access to the bus and streetcar; while removed from the noise, chaos and crowds of thr French Quarter. Can't stress enough how much my family (which includes a 7 and 9 year old) loved the location.

Elaina was very quick to respond to all messages and all our needs. The rental unit is locates on the block behind the owners and the back yards ajoin by a gate. Elaine made my kids feel like family by sharing access to her adorable dogs, playset, and trampoline, and they got to play with her children. If you are looking for a place to stay and don't have children in tow, it ALSO offers plenty of privacy for an adult getaway.

The rental was laid out nicely with pretty and cozy decor. Good quality bed and bath linens and many nice little touches. It had everything we needed for a 5 day stay. AND it was very clean! Plus, the parking was fantastic!

We enjoyed the walk out windows from the bedroom onto the balcony and our coffee every morning sitting on the balcony's little bistro table.

It was a short 15 minute bus ride or 25 minute streetcar ride to the French quarter -- but there is almost as much to do and eat just steps away from the rental unit. We highly recommend picking up a jazzy pass at Walgreens down the street for inexpensive hopping on and off the public transportation all day.

Great Place/Location/Owner/Everything!

  • 5 of 5

I came to New Orleans with my Mom, Sister and Girlfriend as a 60th birthday present for my Mom. Having never used this site before I was a little nervous but as soon as I walked into our place I knew it was going to be perfect. The unit is very clean and well decorated, steps from great food and stores, the area felt safe, and Elena was extremely helpful and responsive when we had any questions. Oh, and the beds are super comfortable!

This place was clean, comfortable and accommodating to our needs. A wonderful suggestions list was provided for things to do on Magazine St. Definitely staying there again on our next trip to NOLA.

Plus it was kid friendly .

Charming unit in ideal location.

  • 5 of 5

Magazine Street is fabulous. We could easily have spent our entire week visiting the restaurants, bars, antique shops, and attractions on just that one street. The property owner provides helpful annotated lists of some of their favorite and not-so-favorite places to eat and drink, along with information on where to shop for supplies. There is a terrific wine shop, Philippe's, a short walk up the street, with an amazing selection of wines. If you ever feel like dining in, get some crawfish and shrimp at Big Fisherman Seafood. Of course, a visit to New Orleans is not complete without exploring the French Quarter, Bourbon Street, and other famous neighborhoods. Because a bus runs right along Magazine, we found it very convenient to get around. A favorite lunch spot was the Cochon Butcher on Tchoupitulous Street.

The apartment has two spacious bedrooms, and the owner provided a very comfortable blow-up bed for a third person. The art and furnishings create a warm ambiance, and the kitchen is all set up with anything you might need. We called the owner to get some kitchen towels, and her housekeeper brought them right over. The owner was very responsive to our needs. Because the property is one street over from Magazine, it was generally a quiet location, and the beds were comfortable. I highly recommend this property.

Very nice in a perfect spot.

This place was exactly as we thought it would be after reading previous reviews. In was in the perfect very nice are of New Orleans but close enough to go wherever you wanted. The shopping and restaurants in walking distance are a huge plus. We also saw the St. Patrick's day parade which was quite a sight to see. I would recommend this property to anyone of my family or friends. The owner is very nice and greeted us when we got there. There is a locked fence you can park your car in also. Overall we were very happy with our stay.
