Christmas at the Falls🌲

Our family of 6 stayed at the Falls over Christmas 2016 and I have nothing but wonderful things to say about the condo. It was our 3rd stay and everything was as anticipated. The place was clean and inviting and the kitchen was extremely well stocked with dishes, cutlery etc.to cook a complete turkey 🦃 dinner. The location was very central to downtown and within walking distance to a Thrifty's grocery store and a wine outlet. We did a tour of the Empress Christmas trees, a Gingerbread display at the Laurel Point Inn and another display of Teddy Bears at a near by hotel. The hot tub this year was very warm and we enjoyed it at least 4 times.I would recommend this property to anyone and would definitely return if the need arises. Linda

Welcoming, Comfortable and Perfect!

Everything from the booking, our arrival and stay was perfect. The owner of the unit was quick to reply when confirming the availability and our reservation. Nancy, the greeting team, was at the unit to show us around. We really appreciated that we could text Nancy later in the day when we had a few extra questions for her about the unit. Such a nice touch in providing us with a bottle of wine upon our arrival. The unit was very clean, quiet and comfortable, and had everything we needed. The beds were very comfortable too! The location is right downtown, close to all of the attractions of the inner harbour. We would highly recommend this unit, and we would definitely return here on our next visit to Victoria.

Beautiful property in a secure location

This was a nice condo in a brand new, secure building with easy access to downtown Portland and public transportation. The only complaint I have is that it wasn't as well stocked as I was expecting. There wasn't hand soap at all the sinks, we ran out of toilet paper during our four-day stay, and we were only left one packet of laundry detergent. Thankfully there was a Target nearby.

We also got in earlier than expected and I was unable to get ahold of anyone to see if we could get into the unit sooner. Other than that the unit was perfect for our group of six.

Lack of communication made for a stressful and sometimes frustrating experience

The property is nice (and Victoria is amazing!) however the lack of effective communication made for a stressful and sometimes frustrating experience.

Most of our issues related to the check-in and check-out procedure. In the week leading up to our arrival, we hadn’t received any instructions (how to pick up keys, etc) and it wasn’t until I took the initiative to reach out multiple times (and, the afternoon before our flight) that I finally received instructions to pick up keys from a nearby fast food restaurant.

Communication issues continued throughout the stay, most notably with the fact that no check-out instructions were provided and we didn’t know what to do with the keys when we left. After being unsuccessful in reaching the owner, we did successfully reach another contact person who gave us permission to leave the keys on the counter.

There we also problems in communication regarding the refund of our security deposit. After returning home, I was informed that the our deposit would be refunded in 2-3 days. After waiting another 7 days I had received no additional communication or a refund of our deposit. I attempted to reach out once again and never received a response, however 5 days later a refund was eventually issued to our credit card.

As far as the property itself goes, its quite nice! The unit was clean, well stocked and quite large. The location was also very good and not too noisy despite being in the heart of downtown. Having a dedicated space in the parking garage was a nice bonus. We did discover that water drips from the bathroom fan in the guest bathroom, however since we didn’t need to use this room it wasn't really an issue for us.

In summary, the unit itself is quite nice however had I not taken the lead on communication I don’t know that I would have ever received check in or check out instructions or had my security deposit refunded. Its a nice property, however the lack of communication created a lot of stress and anxiety regarding our stay.

Perfect location - fully stocked

Just visited this property in Victoria bc. It is kitty-corner to the back of the Empress so it is right downtown (3 or 4 blocks from the water). Lots of amazing restaurants, coffee shops and shopping.

We also rented scooters for the day (totally worth it- we scooted around town and up the coast all the way to mount Douglas) the only thing I would warn people about is that the rental company charges for EVERY scratch. My scooter fell over in a parking lot while I was trying to turn it around (stupid - I know it was such a fluke no one else had this happen and I'm kind of a clutz) it put 3 scratches on the panels of the scooter and the guy helping us (he was pretty indifferent and cold to begin with) was kind of rude and charged $160 for paint and stickers. Had that not happened I would feel a lot better about the excursion. It was still so much fun and I would do it again.

We went to the fishermans warf and had tacos and ice cream while watching 5 seals play in the water (maybe sea lions? I don't remember the difference).

Places you have to eat and drink: habit coffee, pour (coffee and pastries) jumbo (bar and food-higher end) el tarrazo (sp?) and especially for breakfast - jam cafe THE BEST breakfast!

Now for the condo- we all really liked it. It was very modern and had a soaking tub (which I always try to get). The kitchen was fully stocked with pots,pans and blender and coffee maker. No coffee grinder, there was a hair dryer.

The owner was very friendly and easy to work with (very laid back) I'm a planner though and there was a long delay in response to my questions. Also there was a review that mentioned the walls needing paint and I agree they do need to be touched up- it would make the place really sparkle. This place would be great for kids, couples, elderly, and priced very well. We will be back!
