We live in Seattle and love getting away to spend a weekend in Glacier whenever we can. Its an amazing area with great restaurants, hiking, and skiing/snowboarding nearby and the lush surroundings make it truly unique. We hope you enjoy your stay and let us know if you have any questions at all about the property!
Ashley purchased this house in 2015
We recently purchased this home from the original owners who built it themselves in 2009. We're excited to share our lovely home away from home so others can enjoy this beautiful house in such incredible surroundings. This area is phenomenal in the summer, too, with endless trails for mountain biking and hiking, the Nooksack river within earshot and a small creek within walking distance through the Glacier Springs community. Keep an eye out for fossils along the trails near the creek! But it's really hard to resist the winter thrill of charging the slopes of Mt. Baker!
Wonderful place. Really nice set up. Very open and comfortable. We definitely want to come back. Weather was great. Friday skiing was out of sight
After a day of snowshoeing it was great to return to a warm and cosy home close to Mt. Baker. There was a well equipped kitchen to make dinner, a good sized table to eat at and a big comfy couch where we could chat and relax. The house was perfect for our party of six. It was nicely decorated and clean. Would definitely return.
beautifully maintained property just a short drive from the slopes. Extremely well appointed with everything you need except the food for a vacation with friends and family- they even had some snow shoe gear for hiking to borrow.
Place looks like it is brand new and extremely well maintained. Thanks for a great place for a great weekend.
We just got back from a wonderful three nights at this Mt. Baker property. Just outside of Glacier (about 30 minutes up to the mountain), we were well placed to beat the caravans of incoming skiers every morning, and had just a quick trip back when the mountain closed around 3:30 pm. The cabin itself has beautiful exposed beams, a very comfy couch, nice kitchen and dining area, and a very luxurious bathroom upstairs. The cabin was very warm, and had all the amenities we needed. Our boys loved the box of games and my mother really enjoyed the snowshoes on offer. There were great hikes just 20 minutes from the property, too.
AND, the owners were very responsive. When my eldest left his "lovey" (a 7-year-old baby pillow case) behind, Ashley searched diligently for it and even mailed it back to us. She wouldn't hear of repayment. Very much an "above and beyond" moment that made our stay even more memorable.
We hope to be back every other year to ski Baker and would love to return to this property.
My husband and I along with our two adult children spent Christmas at this property. It was a beautiful home, clean and fully equipped with everything that we needed. Ashley the owner was wonderful to work with provided us with information about the house ahead of our arrival. Se provided detailed driving directions along with information about the internet, heat, fireplace, television, laundry, barbeque, garbage, etc, so that when we arrived we were all ready for our visit. She even provided recommendations for nearby dining. We tried a couple of restaurants on her list, the "Wake and Bakery" and Milano's Restaurant, both were great!
Besides being fully equipped with everything that we needed, the home was tastefully furnished and decorated. The master bathroom was spacious with an extremely comfortable huge tub. It was great to take a long soak after a long day of snowshoeing at the Sno Park at Mt. Baker!
We definitely will recommend this property to friends and look forward to returning ourselves!
This beautiful cabin was the perfect getaway for our family of 5, and the owners really have provided everything you might need for a relaxing trip from board games to books and magazines, to the TV in the loft that was a fun place to gather in the evenings.
Having a washer/dryer on site was a nice amenity, and the soaking tub upstairs was lovely as well!
The owners keep the kitchen well supplied with any utensils, pots and pans, etc needed for cooking, but it's probably a good idea to buy your groceries (if you plan to cook several meals) in Bellingham. There are a couple tiny places about 5 miles in each direction where you can pick up basic items, but the price is quite a bit higher. Alternatively, they do have a great pizza place 5 miles away in Glacier and an Italian restaurant (which we didn't try) close as well.
If some of your family love to ski/snowboard, but not all, there is the Baker Bus that picks people up near the Wake N Bakery (5 miles away in Glacier). Look the Baker Bus up online to register and get more information. Our kids really enjoyed the runs at Mt Baker.
The owners are very responsive. The home was exactly as described, and very clean. Our VRBO experience was absolutely wonderful. We highly recommend this home as a destination.
This was a wonderful cabin with plenty of space to easily fit two families with a total of 6 children. It was comfortable, warm, and contemporary. There is a large deck outside and a nearby river beds containing amazing fossils of plants and vegetation from the Eocene period, and a short drive to Mt. Baker Ski Area as well as numerous trails and nearby adventures. Glacier is nearby with great food options and Maple Valley a few miles away has a large market. We loved it and would be happy to come back someday.
