About The Owner

My husband was born and raised in Carmel, we were married in Carmel Valley 30 years ago and have been going to either the village or Carmel often in those 30 years. This area is home and we plan to retire there someday. Currently we live in the San Francisco Bay area. Our country home has become our retreat, a place to unwind and recharge .We love to get out of the city and into the sunshine and slower pace of the country. We never grow tired of looking out at the vineyard filled valley from our deck or driving into Carmel for a sunset walk on the amazing white sand beach.

The Owner purchased this house in 2001

Why The Owner chose Central Coast California

We found this property by chance on a business trip to Carmel. Once the realtor opened the gate to the property and we saw the beautiful meadow filled with lupine, poppies and ancient oak trees we knew we were home.

What makes this house unique

We love the quiet. You will notice when you first get out of the car the only sound you hear is the crickets and the frogs. We love the views of the valley, watching the finger of fog moving in and out of the valley below in the early morning or evening. We love eating dinner out on our deck in the soft candlelight on a warm night. We love to drive into Carmel to walk on the beach at sunset. There are so many things to do but often we just stay home with a pile of books and sit on the deck reading and relaxing.

Great place to stay

  • 5 of 5

Stayed just a few days. We were here for a wedding so did not get much time to enjoy the house. It is very California kitch and we enjoyed it. I recommend this house highly if you have a good driver to get you there. Wonderful views and very peaceful. Book it if you plan to be in the area!

Beautiful house and property; with great amenities and lots of fun and quirky style!

  • 5 of 5

We were here with a group of ladies celebrating a birthday. We loved the house so much and had planned for meals at home (which was perfect, because it was far down into the valley), that we barely left the property over our four day weekend. The kitchen is really well stocked (unusual for many rentals) and the house has really nice sheets, towels, beds, and, really, every amenity you'll need to enjoy your stay. We ate both outside and in -- the balcony dining area is so perfect to enjoy the views both morning and evening. Light the candles in the hanging chandelier and enjoy lovely evening with your friends. The pool is small but lovely and has comfy rafts to float on. You can see a million stars from there, the hot tub or any of the lovely balconies and little sitting-out areas that they've got around the house. The art inside and out was fun and funky. Really, I can't say enough good things about this house. We will definitely be back for another ladies' getaway.

Convenient for our purposes of attending a wedding in Cachagua.

House was clean and well-maintained. Beds were comfortable.Sofa bed was okay. A marker for the driveway would help locate it, especially at night. We were not at the property much during our stay. Also, even though, the weather was very hot during the day, it stayed cool in the house when we were there. Overall, our two night stay was very pleasant.

This home is wonderful, comfortable and peaceful.

This home is amazing. We spent the days and evenings in the pool and hot tub. The views are outstanding both day and night. This was by far the most relaxing vacation ever. The owners responded quickly when we had a question and the community is very welcoming. We loved the mountain setting and privacy. The decks are perfect for morning coffee and evening celebrations offering cool breezes and bird watching all day. The house itself is incredibly comfortable with great views from every room. Thank You for sharing your home with others.
