Clean, charming, spacious and safe
The week before Easter we stayed at this lovely home on Staten Island with easy access to Manhatten. This property was wonderful for us! It was roomy, quiet, and safe and had every imaginable accomodation. Since we were travelling with two adult children, it was important that everyone had their own space - and the house was perfect for this! We cooked on location almost every day and felt truly at home here. The corner lot with a big yard is certainly a great asset, especially in summer.
We got around everywhere with public transportation (bus and subway), with the bus stopping regularly about a five-minute walk from the house (24/7). The Staten Island Ferry from St. George is free of charge and a great way to unwind after the hustle and bustle of all-day sightseeing.
What made this stay really special was the terrific personal atmosphere: Lydia was an unbelievably wonderful host who took us right in and treated us like family. She gave us great tips on what to see and how to get around. Since we had no car, she even picked us up at the train station and drove us directly to the New Jersey airport. One couldn't ask for anything more!
We strongly recommend this house for families or couples who would like to visit New York in a relaxed and charming atmosphere. We would definitely come again!
We needed a place to stay with our small dog while visiting family for the holidays. This apartment worked out great. The apartment was clean and comfortable. Dog was welcome. There was a gated yard so no worries about dog getting loose. We had no trouble with on-street parking. Would definitely rebook for our next visit.
We spent the weekend before Christmas at this lovely place on Staten Island. The owner Lydia was very helpful throughout the booking process and very accommodating regarding arrival times. She was in touch with us as we made our journey to NY and was there to greet us when we arrived.
The apartment had everything we needed. It was in a lovely quiet neighborhood with plenty of free on street parking. We felt very safe. The free Staten Island ferry is only a mile away and you can park at the terminal for $8 day. For us, with our 9 month old baby and a car full of stuff, it was the perfect way to enjoy Manhattan but still have a relaxing and peaceful place to come back to. Highly recommend!
Between December 2013 and October 2015, I had the pleasure of living in the second floor apartment at 71 Harvard Avenue in Staten Island New York. Not only is this address located in a beautiful neighborhood, but also it is less than a mile from the Staten Island Fairy. This made access to Manhattan extremely easy. Furthermore, Lydia was courteous and always willing to accommodate my needs for comfort. This made living at this location a wonderful experience I will never forget. Anyone looking to enjoy the slower pace of Staten Island and/or the adventurous speed of Manhattan would do well staying at this location. I highly recommend it.

We stayed at this rental property when traveling to NY to visit family for Thanksgiving. We found Lydia's home to be very homey, comfortable and inviting. The hardwood floors are beautiful and the property well maintained. The track lighting in the living room was very pretty and a nice touch. This is the ideal place to stay if you want to spend time in the city as it is very close to the ferry terminal. Riding the ferry to the city is an awesome experience as you have great views of the city skyline and the Statue of Liberty. Lydia was very accommodating and ensured we had everything we needed. It was wonderful returning to the house after a long day in the cold or rainy city. The house was very warm and a nice place to relax. There are great deli's to try in Staten Island while you stay at the rental. We highly recommend Ariemmas Italian Deli as well as dining at Mike's Diner in Staten Island if you stay at this rental. It was also only a short drive from Staten Island to Hoboken NJ to visit the Cake Boss Bakery. Overall we had a great time and a great experience staying here and would recommend to others.
My son, daughter-in-law and I stayed for an extended weekend to attend a friend's wedding. Lydia's home was a wonderful alternative to staying in a hotel. The house was spacious, clean, and well maintained. We appreciated the well equipped kitchen. Glad to have wifi. The beds were very comfortable. A great place to stay on Staten Island!
