As one guest describes it, 'nothing can compare to the excellent accommodations and peaceful surroundings we truly enjoyed in this cottage by the river...to wake up to an October Fall Morning with the leaves falling and gentle breezes will stay in our memories and the many picture we took for many years to come...thank-you for making our stay truly remarkable.'

My husband and I love to fish and boat on the Kentucky River as well as enjoy the many country side beauties of our scenic state. Entertaining our family and friends with southern style hospitality is very important to us. We also love people and want to provide a place for others to experience the beauty of the outdoors and nature.
The Owner purchased this condo in 2005
We purchased this three acre piece of property to have easy access to the river for boating and fishing. Though the house needed to be completely remodeled and the surrounding area cleaned, the view was overwhelmingly beautiful and made all the hard work worth it. The property is located 10 minutes from Lexington and 1 mile from Exit 99 of I-75 off of Ky 2328, so it is easy for visitors to locate when traveling in the scenic Bluegrass.
We love to stay at this property as the accommodations are private facing the Kentucky River with a spring-fed waterfall and stairs leading the the river's edge for easy access to fishing and boating. It is very relaxing for us to unwind in the gazebo hot-tub which looks out over the river or just sit on the deck and enjoy all of natures wonderful sounds.
Our family had all 3 levels. We had all ages from 2years to 55 and everyone had a great time. We had an awesome experience. We booked very last minute literally a few days before the trip. Brenda was very accommodating, we felt like we were at home. Thank you so much! We will definitely be back!
Thank you for providing such a wonderful stay. The scenery was so beautiful, and the cottage was everything we needed for our weekend. We appreciated your recommendation of the Jean Farris Winery; the food was excellent. The cottage, while feeling like we were miles from any city, was very conveniently located close to everything. I have sent pictures to all of my family because I want them to go down and enjoy your beautiful place, as well! We are planning to return next Spring.
We stayed on the 2nd floor and the view of the river is beautiful! Everything was perfect about our stay. The owner greeted us and took us for a ride in their pontoon boat which showed us the beautiful Kentucky River! It is convenient to everything and we loved it. Hope to return soon!
If you are reading this review and trying to decide whether to stay here, save yourself some time and book it now, it doesn't get any better!
I can't say enough good. The owners, cleaner and manager are all such great people. We loved everything about the cottage. We were in the second floor which was our favorite. There are games, magazines, shade, beautiful view, deck and lots of windows and sliding doors. We didn't want to leave.
Well funny thing happened. We went to the next place we were to be staying. We hated it for so many reasons. We were upset and worried. I called these great ppl and they had us back. The owner herself cleaned it. They greeted us excitedly. They have outdoor games, hot tub, bikes and even fishing tackle to use. We were so happy and relieved to be back. The owner even invited us for an evening ride on the river in their pontoon boat. In saying this, they did not live right there, hover, interfere or bother at all. We loved it. Just to be aware the first floor doesn't have DVDs players or games, so plan for that. We have been numbed since we got back. Incredible fun and friendly people with a hidden gem we will be returning to.
I cannot say enough good things about Kentucky River Cottages! Location, accommodations, amenities, scenery, owner, and staff are the absolute best you'll find anywhere! My family and I occupied all three units on Mother's Day weekend, and we're still raving about this gem in the heart of the Bluegrass. We can hardly wait for an opportunity to return, and think autumn would be a great time to more thoroughly enjoy the hot tub, outdoor cooking & dining, and the fire pit. Basically everything you need is provided--just bring your own food and you're all set! There are indoor and outdoor games available on the property, and free wireless internet. I was born and raised in Kentucky, and this has become my favorite place in this great state for a getaway trip. It's even better than the pictures you see here, so do not hesitate to book this property. One note: only the ground floor unit is suitable for anyone with mobility issues, as you must walk up steps to the other units. My 87-year old mom stayed with us in the ground floor unit. She uses a walker, and we did fine.
Truly unique, comfortable, relaxing cottages right on the Kentucky River. Beautiful, tranquil setting in the woods literally feet away from the river. The owners and manager are warm, friendly, accomodating, and diligent in ensuring your comfort and meeting your needs. The cottages themselves are well-stocked and have comfortable beds, and are especially perfect for multi-family/couple gatherings. The porch on the main unit gives a panaramic view of the river, and if you like outdoor activities, these cottages are definitely your place to be. For us, gathering with friends, good conversation, reading, enjoying a glass of wine on the porch, and sharing meals together were our activities of choice, although the location is super convenient for exploring the area as it is just a very short distance off I-75. We shared a five-day vacation here with friends and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Located between Lexington and Richmond Kentucky just one mile off I-75 ext 99.
