Wow Amazing !!

  • 5 of 5

We Brought our family of 6 here and had the best time ever !! It was our 2nd time at Casa Piedra. We were here 12 years ago and came back to find it even better. A new restaurant is on the Beach right below Called "coco Loco" amazing food and cocktails. They got to know us well and started a tab for us and even served us on the beach. The infinity pool that looks over the beach with its huge patio was our favorite part of this house. Many evenings, sunsets, and happy hours were spent here. Ollie our care taker was Amazing and any time we had an issue ( not many)would come and help us out. He also hired a private chef for our 1st and last night at this gorgeous Casa. The Best food ever !! We Got to see some great weather too. Evening rain lightening and thunder would light up the beach below us but we were safe and covered on the huge patio. You could hear birds in the trees around us and even at times the tree monkeys. The sweet cleaning lady came each day and did our laundry and cleaned up after us. Everyone we met was so nice. Costa Rican people are wonderful. The Casa is divided into 3 individual guest quarters each with its own master bath. The main house with one of the bedrooms has with A nice kitchen and living room. My husband and I stayed in the guest room behind the infinity pool. Each morning we woke up to the beauty from the huge windows looking outside We also stayed in this one 12 years ago. Love It !! My only suggestion is to PLEASE

upgrade the "bed"in this room. The room is so large it can use a King bed or even a more comfortable Queen bed. We had a very hard time sleeping each night on this bed. But the beauty of the place made up for it. But I want to come back for a longer trip next time but I would need a more comfortable bed. It wasn't easy to leave this wonderful home but our last 5 days we stayed at the all inclusive Westin. It was wonderful but we all agreed that when we come back we want to stay longer at this Beautiful Casa. Thanks to everyone and for my early check in too. After an all night flight from LAX we arrived at 9 in the morning to the Casa and Olli was there to welcome us. The owners of this place were also very professional and responded back very quickly as I had lots to ask trying to make it the best vacation ever !! And it Was Thank You

The house and location were fantastic. The place was even better than the photos showed. The beach was mostly secluded, the waves perfect for adults to body surf or just play in. The view from the expansive deck was just what I was looking for. Many an hour were spent on the deck or lounging in the infinity pool. Walks and runs on the beach, eating at Coco Loco's, reading on the deck with the waves crashing in front of you - a wonderful place to vacation. It was also close enough for my adult sons to go to Tamarindo for some very big waves and a day and a half trip to Arenal to see the inland terrain and do some hiking. I highly recommend this spot!

Fantastic views

  • 5 of 5

We booked the home for a family vacation all adults. 6 in total. We found the set up was perfect as the rooms being separated gave us all our own space. We found we all gravitated to the beautiful infinity pool as well as the patio all the time. The view of the beach and the ocean was fantastic. The surf was great, beach is secluded and not crowded. The proximity to Coco Loco (local eatery) was advantagous as their menu was great. The staff Oli and the daily visits of Maritza helping out to keep the property clean and attend to our needs was welcome. Oli and Maritza are true professionals. We highly recommend this property. It can be perceived a little rustic but this is the charm of this home. We Would book again again.

Best location on Flamingo beach

  • 4 of 5

This is an amazing property because of its view, location and proximity to the beach. We were there during Holy Week and there were activities set up on the beach with a grand stand and a band and other fun things - but it shut down early - like 9:30pm - so it never disturbed us too late. The beach is a pristine white sandy beach - with no seaweed when we were there. There were huge waves that were a blast but that would have made me nervous if my kids were younger. There were many restaurants within walking distance but if Oli is available - he would drive you if you want to go further. He was the best when it came to problem solving or a quick trip to the grocery. He set up a fishing/snorkeling private boat which was terrific too.

The sunsets and lanai were absolutely breathtaking. Also, the moon over the water late at night is incredible - we were there for a full moon and it was truly spectacular.

The only draw back of this fabulous property is that the third bedroom is sort of like a coach house and set back from the other two bedrooms - which each have their areas as well. If you are thinking about having young children share the double beds room - am not sure it is the best fit. They would be set back from you and with the beautiful ocean noises, you probably wouldn't hear if they needed something. My youngest is 14 and she was fine there with a friend but I just was thinking if they were younger, I would have had an issue.

Another plus, Oli set up a chef to cook some dinners and lunches for us and it was a great way to relax at this beautiful spot. He also had some ladies come and give us fabulous massages on the lanai! It was one of the many highlights of our Costa Rican trip! Also, Mareetza (sorry if I spelled it incorrectly) was a dream since we came from the rain forest and she did all our laundry and kept the place nice and neat. She is a gem. I hope you get a chance to check out this special spot!

Owner's Response: We are so very glad you enjoyed Casa Piedra and your stay in Costa Rica. I will pass your kind words onto Oli and Meritsa. Youn may rest assured that the casita is never rented with the ides of small children being there alone. For that reason we have the queen bed and 2 twins.m We hope to see you, again at Casa Piedra.

Great Location

  • 4 of 5

Our family of 6 adults stayed for a week. The location was beautiful and accommodations were very good. Even though there is a road between the house and beach, it is a quiet location and there is a mile of beach to explore. Good restaurants nearby including Coco Loco next door (excellent). Staff at the house were great; Olivier and Marista were very attentive and helpful. My only complaint was the lack of communication from the owners prior to our stay. On several occasions there was no responses to my phone messages/e-mails. The owner responded to the VRBO site communications only.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your review. We are glad you enjoyed your stay. Regarding communications, I understand your point. However with the amount of inquiries I receive, I find it far more efficient to respond vs homeaway or VRBO. That way there is an accurate communication record to follow and refer to at all times. I have made mistakes in the past by agreeing to things or promising things in outside communication then lost track of which prospective renter I had spoken with. We ho to see you in Costa Rica again!!
