The casa was so relaxing and the details that surrounded us spoke of hospitality. It has been like a good book; each day has revealed a new treasure to notice.

The perfect spot! A cozy, private haven within walking distance of great restaurants, & shopping.

My husband and I just returned from a two week stay at Casa La Vita; it suited us perfectly. The layout is open, yet cozy. It is comfortably furnished and has some wonderful examples southwestern artwork. While the casa is part of a complex and shares a common courtyard, we found it to be both quiet and private. There are several lovely spots to sit and relax including the two balconies and the walled garden off the master suite. Another asset is that the views from the kitchen, dining room, and sitting area face west affording a great view of some wonderful sunsets. The master bedroom suite is quite large with a huge closet including a washer and dryer tucked into one corner - very convenient!

While staying here, we often walked to the local shops, museums, and restaurants. Although we had a car it was nice not to have to worry about parking. The walk back to the casa does include an uphill stint on Otero. We noticed it, but it wasn’t that much of a challenge – and were senior citizens.

In addition to visiting the local sites, like the Georgia O'Keefe Museum and the Museum of Indian Arts and Culture (both highly recommended), we also went on some longer forays. Bandelier National Monument, Ghost Ranch, Los Alamos, Taos, the Earthship Biotecture, and the Turquoise Trail were adventures easily accomplished within a day.

Often after having spent the day exploring, we decided to return to the sanctuary of the casa and have dinner in the comfort of "our home". We found the kitchen had everything we needed rather we were just having coffee in the morning or making dinner in the evening.

An added plus to all of this is Richard. Whenever we had a question he always got right back to us with just what we needed to know.

Next time we are in Santa Fe we will definitely return to Casa La Vita!

A very lovely home tucked away in a compound off of Otero St.

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our week long stay very much. The house is very comfortable and clean and has very nice furnishings, linens and kitchen ware.

It is a short 3 block walk to the Plaza, which was very convenient for shopping and dining without having to park the car. (Just be prepared for a steep incline on the walk back home going north on Otero St!! You'll get your exercise!) There is a fairly steep winding staircase from the first level down to the master bedroom. There are no window coverings on the master bath window or on the door out to the master bedroom patio. While the backyard is fenced and has many trees, bushes , shrubs, etc, it was a little unnerving to use the large master bath/shower minus window treatments. The master bedroom has a huge storage/closet area. There are some nice views from the veranda off of the dining area looking west, so we could enjoy a few sunsets and a very small view of some mountains west of Santa Fe. The view of the Cathedral out the living room window is nice, although trees are beginning to interfere with the view. All in all, it was a really quiet, peaceful area with nice landscaping. We met Annie, the caretaker of the property - she was so nice! We did have to deal with parking off property for several days due to concrete work in the driveway, but we were notified both by email and personally by Annie in advance, which we appreciated. I definitely hope to return at some point!

Absolutely perfect!

  • 5 of 5

We were two couples visiting from Toronto and Denver. We were in Santa Fe to attend the Santa Fe Concoursa which is a wonderful auto show.

Casa La Vista was so much more than we expected. It was walking distance to almost every place we wanted to go. The rooms were perfectly appointed, beds comfortable. The master bath was a work of art with matching hand painted tiles, sink, drawer pulls and hooks. The living area was comfortable and colorful. The three porch areas were great spots for some quiet time. Kitchen perfect. Without question we will try to get this home again.

Thank you, Richard, for making this happen. I had made reservations in March for the September weekend of the car show and did not realize the car show dates had been changed. Richard, you made it work and you were absolutely correct when you said we would enjoy this home just as much. It was a pleasure to work with someone so well organized and thoughtful.

great experience

  • 5 of 5

My 2 adult daughters and I spent a week at Casa La Vista in Santa Fe. The home was perfect in every way. So Comfortable and beautifully appointed in true Santa Fe Style.

We were close to the plaza and galleries, great restaurants , and shopping.

We needed a car as we did 4 amazing hikes , and toured around the surrounding area.

It was a fabulous holiday and we will surely return to Casa La Vista.

Many thanks for assuring me it would be perfect....it was.

Fantastic Townhome in Prime Location

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay here. Four of us stayed very comfortably at the house and will definitely be staying here on our next trip to Santa Fe. It's in an excellent location - walking distance to great shops and restaurants. The property is decorated in high-end Santa Fe style, which really added to the whole experience. I highly recommend Casa La Vista!
