Stay in a beautiful historical building (built 1895, during the Golden Age of the city) in an apartment renovated to a very high standard. The location is excellent. You are at walking distance to most sights and places of interest. Public transportation is very good as well.
The apartment has most of the basics you might need. Comfortable beds, hot water nice kitchen and yes a nice view.
Negatives it has no living room, barely any channels when it works. It looks like the owner does not pay for a basic plan from the local cable provider they get what channels they can off-air and during half my stay there was no TV. When traveling, I like to see the news in the morning and see entertaining TV when I'm winding down from the day.
The apartment is somewhat noisy seeing that it's on the street and of most concern, there is no phone present in case of an emergency. Overall it's a good apartment for the money and it's condition.
My husband, college age son and myself stayed here the end of May for one week. Fantastic location with bakeries, markets and shops nearby. Good restaurants and easy access to major attractions and to the downtown core. This was our first experience renting an apartment abroad and we loved it. The staff of The Stained Glass Window apartment are so helpful and knowledgeable. They met us at the designated time for check in, make great recommendations and helped with computer problems we were having. The apartment has a huge bathroom, nice kitchen and good bedrooms. You have a lot of space to move around in and privacy. Highly recommended. Yes we would stay here again in lovely Barcelona
The apartment was lovely just as described! Our arrival from the US was earlier than anticipated but we were greeted warmly. We were provided an area map and directed to several markets, including one open very late. The subway was convenient and close to the apartment, but of course walking the beautiful city is highly recommended. The museum pass was an exceptional value as not only did it allow entry to numerous museums, but it provided immediate access to the exhibits without waiting in line! The roof top patio was a great way we ended each day. I hope someday to return to this extraordinary city and again stay at this lovely apartment.
We loved our stay in the apartment. The location near the metro is fantastic. The kitchen was great for breakfast with a view (we grabbed groceries at a store 2 blocks away). The pictures don't do the place justice. Beautiful inside:clean, modern with an Old World feel. The rooftop deck is amazing! We could see the Familia Sagrada day and night (and could walk there)! And if you don't want to wait in line at the tourist Tapas restaurants near the beach, the little neighborhood Tapas restaurants in a 3 block radius are delicious and inexpensive. Best thing I can say: We will be back and we will stay at apartment again, no question.
We stayed for a week in the "stained glass window" apartment. What a find! It had everything we needed; was convenient for transportation and was beautifully decorated. (Perfect blend of contemporary and traditional). The roof deck was an expected bonus! The apartment was also immaculately clean.
We enjoyed buying food at the neighborhood market just down the street.
The Negre BCN team was helpful, professional and on hand to answer our questions. Our trip to Barcelona was delightful and made so much better by having our beautiful "home" to stay in.
We stayed here two times in a 2 week period for 6 nights altogether. Bath nice. A bit sorry we did not get a place with a less noisy living space and bigger living room which is the stained glass little window area. Kitchen big for Barcelona. Closets oddly placed. A bit cold and noisy. Nice managers very helpful and responsive.Hard to get a great closure on the window/doors to outside street sounds. Beds comfortable. Location was where we wanted to be. Safe nice feature. Inconsistant Internet service. Hard floors. Stingy on toilet paper.
