This is a 1943 beach bungalow that has been completely remodeled inside and out with a designers flair. With its easy breezy relaxed beach decor and solid wood floors you are truly transported back to simpler times the minute you walk through the doors. The kitchen has a light and bright retro beachy theme with an authentic 1950's O'Keefe and Merritt stove/oven with a center heating element to make your favorite pancakes on. However all the modern day technology is available too, ie. 46' LCD screen with cable, DVD, and dvr available plus wifi so you can bring your own laptop. The new bathroom features a claw foot tub/shower to relax in after a day at the beach with an endless supply of on demand hot water already set at a comfortable 115 degrees. All you have to do is flip the handle.
The front yard has been professionally landscaped including a 'sandy beach' area with two Adirondack chairs so you can view the endless parade of sailboats and windsurfers. The back yard is fenced in to provide safety for your children away from the street. The back yard has a small grassy area, hot tub, sunning deck, patio and bbq.
If you choose to do nothing but read on your vacation we've taken care of that too. There is a small library of paperback books available for you to choose from. And if you bring a book you've already read and no longer want feel free to participate in the book exchange. Take a book/leave a book.
There are a few restaurants within a few minutes including a short walk over the bridge to the Barefoot Beach Club where you can enjoy your food while observing the sharks and fish swimming along in their enclosed waterway that surrounds the outside eating patio.

I love having a place in San Diego I can go to any time and love sharing it with other families who love staying in a home away from home. The minute I walk through the door I immediately feel relaxed and know I'm on vacation. I have a ton of books there and have fun just picking one out to read each time I go. But anything I want to do seems so accessible there. I can watch the sail boats right outside my door every day or rent one if I want to do it myself. I can kayak. Or take a bike ride down to the beach but I don't have to put up with the parking problems. At night I can watch the fireworks at Sea World from my front yard. I love it there and want other people to enjoy it too.
Terri Miller purchased this bungalow in 2008
Location. And views. San Diego is a fun, active community with the best weather in the country. We are so close to all things San Diego. Right on the waters of Mission Bay in Pacific Beach, access to boardwalk just across the street. A short drive to downtown, Coronado Island, LaJolla, Sea World, the list goes on. The best of everything. A quiet neighborhood within minutes of the freeways and beaches. A true getaway.
It's cozy and comfortable. Great views. It's been recently renovated from top to bottom, inside and out. The back yard has a bbq and hot tub. So after a long day at the beach, which is nearby, I look forward to relaxing in my own back yard. The boardwalk to the beach is right outside my door where I can ride my bike or walk my dog.
I selected Terri's home based on the reviews and photo of the living room view of the bay. It could not have been more perfect! Terri truly has thought of everything! This house is so convenient to shops and restaurants, but just far enough away from the beach traffic to enjoy some quiet. The hot tub in the evening was awesome. My husband and I and 3 adult children truly enjoyed this little haven on the bay and hope to return. Stay here and you will not be disappointed! Thank you, Terri!
This was a perfect house for six adults. Very comfortable in a great area. Highly recommend!
We very much enjoyed our visit at Bungalow by the Bay! Terri has really thought of everything and the house felt like our home away from home. The beds are very comfortable and having three bedrooms was great. The backyard provided a great place for us to eat dinner and for our kids to play. The front yard sand area is genius. We watched the sunset over the bay every night while our kids played in the sand. So nice. We enjoyed the proximity to the beach and also to sites we wanted to see in downtown and along the coast. It was equally great to be out of the hustle and bustle of those areas when we returned to the house. Really I don't know if the location could have been more perfect. We look forward to coming and visiting again, thank you!
My family and I (wife, three kids under 9 and mother-in-law) had a great time at this place! The kids loved the beach in the front yard and were in it before I could even get the car unloaded. The location on the bay was both picturesque and close to whatever you need. We were even able to step out the front door and walk up the sidewalk about 20 yards and see the Sea World fireworks show on our last night. We made use of the sand toys, a bike or two, the washer and dryer and of course the hot tub. We didn't take advantage of the complimentary bottle of wine as described in the binder at the house but nice that it was an option. There is no a/c but considering the average temps in San Diego and by the bay it wasn't an issue. We liked the throw back decor (the fridge looks like it is from the 50's or so but it was made less than five years ago I believe). We would gladly stay here again, but this time we would bring our new SUP as access to the water is a literal stone's throw from the front door. Thanks for such a great place to stay, everything was as advertised. Well Done!
Our stay at the Bugalow was amazing!
We fell in love with every little detail, amenities, location, charm, that view!!
The hot tub was such a treat at the end of the day, the bikes for the entire family super convienent, the path is right across the street and its about a 2 mile ride to mission beach although the Bay has a nice quiet beach and a playground nearby.
It was nice being so close to the beach without all the noise and the big crowds, and not having to worry about parking was super nice!
Terri is on top of everything, communication with her was excellent, I will definitely be taking my family back and stay at her place again :)
We really enjoyed our stay at Bungalow on the Bay. It's in a great location in a quaint neighborhood with views of the bay. The kitchen was well-equipped. Furniture and linens were cozy and comfortable. The house and backyard were clean and well-maintained. It was the first time a rental property provided everything you could need for a beach vacation- beach towels, chairs, sand toys and bicycles. Communication with the owner prior to our trip was prompt and courteous. And we had no issue during our stay to warrant contacting the owner. We would definitely recommend this property to friends and relatives.
Great location...50 feet to jogging path/boardwalk that meanders around the bay. Literally minutes from rollercoaster on Pacific Beach, ocean and downtown San Diego to include Gas lamp District, Chargers Stadium and Petco Park where the San Diego Padres play. Boat races at certain times of year within walking distance.
