Character abounds in the enchanting 1920s Mediterranean cottage located on nearly an acre of landscaped grounds, owned by renowned winemaker Bryan Babcock and his wife Lisa. It is situated perfectly for exploring the spectacular Santa Barbara Riviera and nearby wine country.
The two story guest cottage reflects the charm of of the main residence. It is situated at the end of a 25 foot stone path from the main house providing intimacy. The upstairs is bright, with high beamed ceilings and is thoughtfully appointed with a queen bed, charming decor, and two sets of French doors leading to a large balcony. There is a full bath upstairs as well, with a beautiful vintage tiled floor. The first level has a pull-out sofa, a desk and a kitchenette with a small fridge, sink, coffee maker, microwave and toaster, with seating and a cute table perfect for a morning scone and coffee. The doors open out to spacious green lawns and garden.

Just got back after spending a few nights at this idyllic spot. The guest cottage sits at the back of a large property and has its own parking area. It is a two story cottage with the queen bed upstairs surrounded by windows all around and a large balcony. There was a small hiccup getting settled which was resolved quickly with a phone call to the very available owner. The cottage is very sweet, quiet and peaceful but it is just a 10 minute drive into downtown Santa Barbara and even closer to the village of Montecito. Restaurants there when you need them but peace and quiet when you come home...
My wife and I had a wonderful stay this last weekend at the romantic Babcock Vintner's Guest Cottage located in Montecito. While the photos are accurate they don't do the property justice. We loved the quiet and the serenity we experienced while at the cottage. We especially enjoyed the upstairs with the quaint furnishings and expansive light. We fixed ourselves breakfast each morning and drank tea on the second floor balcony, listening to the birds and surveying the grounds. The bed was extremely comfortable and the water pressure strong (which are two critical factors for a great stay in any hotel/bed & breakfast). It is very convenient to San Ysidro Ranch and Montecito's quaint shopping district where we found the grocery store and restaurant. Nearby there is a trailhead for miles of trails through oak covered forests that provided beautiful scenery and great exercise. We look forward to our return when in the Santa Barbara area again. Thanks for the memories!
