About Cynthia

My husband and I moved here in 1999 into the rental business/handyman business. We are only minutes away from our beach rental so there are no worries if you need something. We have two lovely grown children. One child is married -w/no grandchildren-(just grand dogs!), and our other child is still single. We love meeting our guests and doing everything possible to make them happy.

Cynthia purchased this condo in 1999

Why Cynthia chose South Rehoboth

This vacation rental cannot be beat-It is 4 buildings back from the ocean and boardwalk. We are on a nice wide street-quiet because not near the crowded center of town and the rides, BUT, close enough to walk to everything--just park the car and walk to all. If you are at the beach and need to eat lunch, use the restroom, etc. just leave your blanket and chair and come back whenever. No one seems to touch anything (do not leave money or valuables just in case). Watch out for the tide coming in!!! We have left our house pretty original with a few upgrades such as, it has a newer kitchen with modern amenities, new bathroom, and great furniture. It also has the original hardwood floors.

What makes this condo unique

CLOSE to EVERYTHING!!! Great for children----Quiet part of South Rehoboth!!!---Park your car and never move it again!!

Guestbook comments from the manager

Another great week in Rehoboth!! We have been coming here since 2004 and love the unit, the beach, boardwalk, and most importantly reconnecting with friends who stay in the other apartments. The ocean was calm this week, but Aydan still enjoyed a lot of wave riding. Makenna and Dad played paddle ball-our record was 7. Mom and Aydan were the skee ball champs. We cannot wait until next year to return. Hopefully, Me Me and Peeps will be back next year!! Thanks

Charming cottage has everything you need for a wonderful week at the beach!

  • 5 of 5

My family had a great week at the Whaling Cottage this summer! We were thrilled to find a house to rent that was so close to the beach and boardwalk. The house itself had everything we could possibly need for the week including a fully stocked kitchen, beach toys, DVDs, and two relaxing screened-in porches that we really enjoyed in the morning and evenings. The location was wonderful for my family. It enabled us to easily get back and forth from the beach/boardwalk with our 3 year old who needed a break more often than his big brother. We were also able to walk to multiple restaurants and shops easily. The owners were really nice and so easy to communicate with during the entire rental process, which we greatly appreciated! Both of our boys pretty much summed it up as they often said throughout the week that they "love our beach house." We would gladly return to this rental location in the future. This was the best experience we've had so far with renting a house at Rehoboth Beach!

Owner's Response: I would like to first thank you for taking your time to write a "review" for us-- I am so excited to hear all your feedback with so many good comments about our cottage. I especially love it when the kids call it their beach house. It is their beach house, and I hope they get to enjoy many stays w us in Rehoboth Beach. Love watching them grow!! Please take care, and thanks again. We really appreciate everyone's feedback.

Charming Property...Great Location

  • 5 of 5

The property was exactly what my Wife and I expected; cozy space and very comfortable. We enjoyed the front porch the most. Coffee in the morning while listening to the rain. Only steps from the beach. Cynthia was very easy to work with and very responsive to my questions. Everything was exactly as she explained it. We will definitely rent this property again.

Perfect in every way!

  • 5 of 5

Researching properties on short notice, this cottage seemed ideal for our group. In working with Cynthia, she made everything so easy and we were greeted warmly the day of our arrival. The cottage had everything you could require plus so much more including nice personal touches! It was clean, furnished beautifully, and the location can't be beat. I cannot say enough positive and wonderful things about this experience, it was just perfect! We will be back for certain!!

Lovely weekend at the Whaling Cottage

  • 5 of 5

Despite cold and rainy weather, my husband, 8 year old son and I had a lovely stay at the Whaling Cottage for our first ever trip to Rehoboth Beach. The cottage's proximity to the boardwalk made it possible to walk to the arcade and restaurants. I did make the mistake of thinking Funland was open in April #momfail. But we found plenty of activities to entertain us all.

The cottage is meticulous and fully stocked. On all our vacations we need to cook for our son who has severe food allergies, and the cottage had every appliance and utensil we needed. And on the rainy days the cozy living room was perfect for family movie night.

The bedrooms are generous and have plenty of storage, which is something we don't often find in beach rentals. We found all the comforts of home including throw pillows, blankets and adorable decor.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the hospitality of the owner. The experience felt more like staying with a good friend than renting a beach house. Thank you for sharing your home with us! -Kara

Great property in prime location!

  • 5 of 5

The Whaling Cottage was exactly what I was looking for in Rehoboth! The location was steps from the beach with a view of the ocean from the front, screened in porch. It was also only a short walk to Main Street, which was perfect. The property was well kept and the owners were very friendly. It was really nice to stay so close to everything, but still have all of the amenities of home. I would certainly recommend the Whaling Cottage to others!
