About Paul Bernard Smith II 315-600-8725
I grew up in Baldwinsville NY and graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology in Electrical Engineering. Over the past 25 years, I have enjoyed supporting clients in providing technical hardware and software solution to assist my customers to design products in the Computer, Medical, Miltary and many other industries. My experience and passion to solve technical issues while exceeding my customer expectations provided me the ability to upgrade, repair and manage Pine Cove Cottage and Bald Eagle Cottage over the past 10 years. My wife and I decided to purchase a second home in the 1000 Islands as another project since we close to putting the finishing touches on Pine Cove Cottage.
Paul Bernard Smith II 315-600-8725 purchased this Cottage in 2008
Why Paul Bernard Smith II 315-600-8725 chose Alexandria Bay
My Wife and I have been looking for a vacation home for 20 years in the Islands. We found this old fishing cottage that had lots of potential with a great location with excellent views in 2008. The cottage has been a huge project but the end result has been well worth the effort.
What makes this Cottage unique
The cottage has excellent views of the surrounding Islands, sunrise, sunsets & shipping channel. The location provides private setting that is very close to the town of Alexandria Bay, NY. The private cove offers protection from rough water for our large dock and great swimming.

What a wonderful cottagge!
This Waterfront Cottage is to dream for! We stayed there for six days, and were so enchanted by the place, the house, the boating, the gorgeous nature surrounding it all! Being in the house is like being on a boat. You are surrounded by water in every direction, and the water is so clear and inviting! We swam everyday, went fishing, did many boat excursions, kayaked, and enjoyed both decks in the house at dinner and breakfast .... Of course we BBQed the fish that we got, and prepared other amazing dinners in a kitchen that has it all! Paul was so pleasant and on top of everything through the entire process! This house is just amazing, an experience in itself because where it is located! A place we want to return to! Thank you Paul for sharing this special place with us!
ABay at its best!
This was our third year at Pine Cove Cottage. We will be back next year. Enough said!
Great experience...we recommend!
Enjoyed a quiet week on the bay. We had great fishing, a beautiful view and the House was the perfect size. The neighbors were great and showed my husband around the bay. The only difficulty we had was our phones and WiFi kept losing service and switching to international. This wouldn’t stop us from renting the house we just would have added an international plan before going. The kitchen is well stocked and we went to the yacht club for a nice dinner on the river. Boldt castle was beautiful. If your planning a quiet family vacation I would recommend it!
Everyone was happy!
Thank you Paul for being so accomodating and for caring that we enjoyed ourselves. When I booked Paul's cottage, I skipped over the part of the description that said this is an island. Paul took it upon himself to find us a nice rental boat for the week.
Melody is the property caretaker, and she was very friendly and super helpful in making sure the place was beautiful, and she met us to begin the week with boat navigation tips to make sure we could boat around the islands safely. Thank you Melody, and the Bourbon maple syrup gift was excellent with our pancakes!
We were struck by the care taken to make sure the cottage kitchen was well stocked with everything you could think of to prepare any meal you would want. Very impressive for an owner to make that kind of an effort to make sure guests enjoy there stay, and we sure did.
The upper and lower decks are excellent places for viewing. The bird life we saw everyday was incredible. Never in my life had I seen a swan in flight until our stay at the cottage, and we saw them multiple times.
Thank you Paul and Melody for an amazing week.
Thank you for taking such great care of the cottage and leaving it in excellent shape. You are welcome back anytime.

The Cottage is extremely comfortable making it a home away from home! It is well maintained, clean and complete with furnishing including everything you need to cook a gourmet meal.
Beautiful home with incredible views. We already booked another week for 2019
Everything was super clean and we’ll maintained. Best equipped kitchen I’ve ever seen in a rental.
Enjoy the 1000 Islands Region and The St. Lawrence River.
Relax in comfort and style with a first floor that includes an open great room that overlooks the St. Lawrence River. After a day on the water, prepare your catch of the day in a beautifully appointed kitchen that includes hickory cabinets and all the modern kitchen appliances you’ll need to prepare a memorable meal. Afterwards, plan the next days’ adventure on one of the two patios or in the comfort of the living room. A half bath rounds out the first floor amenities. When it’s time to call it a night, there’s plenty of space for rest and privacy. The second floor of the cottage has 4 bedrooms and two full baths. The master bedroom has a spectacular view of Goose Bay, the main shipping channel, and the very private cove. But don’t worry if you didn’t get the master bedroom, all bedrooms have a view of the water.
