The Fresco Suite offers the best of Vancouver urban life... a cozy home in a quiet neighbourhood by the sea, yet only a few minutes walk to the downtown core. This charming, heritage, ground level 275 sq. ft. studio apartment is in the heart of the leafy West End, one of Vancouver’s most sought after urban neighbourhoods. The suite is ideally suited to the single traveller, or a couple. For women travelling alone, it is a safe, welcoming and secure environment.
The studio is in an award-winning, lovingly restored 1920's heritage building on a tree-lined street centrally located within easy walking distance to downtown Vancouver. It is also only a short walk to Stanley Park and its famous 10 km. seawall, several beautiful beaches, a host of fine restaurants, cafes, and shops, including Robson Street, a premiere shopping street.
It is quiet, elegantly appointed, cozy and full of character, reflecting a European style, with hardwood floors, a custom-built queen-sized wall bed, wool duvet and cotton bed linens, a well supplied kitchenette, and a classic bathroom with a large cast iron, claw-footed bathtub and hand held shower unit. Wifi is available in the suite, and use of a small gym in the building can be arranged. It also offers a water filtration system and full recycling.
Grocery shops, green-grocers, dry-cleaners, pharmacies, bakeries, coffee shops, hardware stores, many small boutiques, an international mix of bistros and restaurants, as well as convenient city bus routes, are all nearby.

I live in the area and love this neighbourhood as it is close to the best of everything Vancouver has to offer - great beaches, mountain and sea views, Stanley Park and its famous seawall, as well as some of Vancouver's finest restaurants and shopping. All within easy reach. You don't need a car!
The West End is Vancouver's most diverse and cosmopolitan neighbourhood and one of the most historic areas in Vancouver.
This is a darling space, bright, cozy and charmingly decorated with added luxury of a perfect bed. The suite is in an elegant heritage building which is well and lovingly maintained by it’s proud owners who also are very warm and welcoming.
The West End is a most wonderful location in Vancouver, from here, there is access to most everything. Also, there is usually a gentle breeze from the ocean providing deliciously fresh air.
A short or medium walk on beautiful tree-lined streets in one direction takes you to both Stanley Park, English Bay beach and innumerable small cafes and shops including internet cafes and a public library if you need access to a computer and the internet. In the other direction you will find theatres, sports events as well as excellent shopping in downtown Vancouver. The busy waterfront and harbour are close by.
If you prefer not to walk; daily, weekly and monthly transit passes are available and transportation is a short block away. The bus makes a loop from the West End to the downtown core, and then returns on a different route to the West End.
The Fresco is well equipped to make yourself breakfasts, lunches and, with a little planning, an emergency dinner.
I enjoyed immensely my stay in this lovely location and will return at every opportunity.
I spent 6 weeks in this beautiful jewel-box while working with the Vancouver Opera. My work days are long and often emotional, and coming "home" to this wee apartment was always a positive end to the day. The historic building is a stunner all on its own, but inside, it is immaculate and has a mature, cozy feel. The other tenants are polite and helpful, and I never felt like I was intruding. Charlotte is also a stunner! An intelligent, warm host who was genuinely interested in ensuring that my stay was comfortable - even loaning me some change for the laundry before I had a chance to get any. The location is perfect - lots of grocery stores and everything you'd ever want to eat on Davie Street. I walked to Stanley Park on my days off, and the transit options are literally a block away. Thank you, Charlotte, for everything. I'll be back soon!
The Fresco Suite was everything we hoped it would be, starting with our getting into Vancouver after a full day of travel from the southern part of the US. Charlotte made herself available to us and though our flight got in later in the evening, she never made us feel like we were putting her out at any time.
The apartment is in a great section of town, in a wonderful Heritage building that is fully secured. The room was exactly as the pictures showed it so there were no unpleasant surprises. It was clean, cozy, the bed was comfortable and the fact that we had access to wi-fi, local phone access, a washer/dryer, mini-kitchen and tv with decent stations for some rainy periods, made it that much better. It is within walking distance of pretty much everything, but more importantly for my husband and I, Stanley Park, Granville Island, the aquarium, and more restaurants than you can shake a stick at. You can also easily walk to the downtown section which we did on several occasions and you don't feel uncomfortable walking in West End at night.
Again, Charlotte made herself accessible via phone for questions if we had them, made suggestions to us on what to do while there, and prior to leaving, was genuinely interested in our stay. This beats out any hotel experience.
My husband and I could not have been happier with our stay in Vancouver and in the Fresco Suite and would highly recommend it to anyone who is interested in renting an apartment.
I spent a week in the Al Fresco Suite and found it perfect for my vacation needs. The suite is equipped with a well stocked mini kitchen, comfortable murphy bed and bathroom. It has been tastefully decorated to create a warm ambiance and it is very clean. My favorite thing about the suite was the location. It is close to the main streets in the West End, yet sheltered from the crowds and traffic. The owner was kind and informative. She welcomed me into the suite and showed me around the building. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!
Me and my wife visited from Stockholm and had a wonderful time in Vancouver's West End. Charlotte's studio is very cozy and tastefully decorated with a super comfy bed! The location was perfect with only a short walk from Stanley park, the beaches and a vast selection of amazing restaurants. We especially enjoyed all the Japanese restaurants in the neighbourhood where Kingyo and Guu Garlic quickly became our favorites. Charlotte is a charming host, very attentive and helpful. She gave us lots of recommendations on what to see and where to dine. We fully recommend this spot to others visiting Vancouver.
The West End is the best location in Vancouver: Stanley Park, beaches, coffee spots, ethnic foods and a real international feel. Leafy green streets, pocket parks, helpful folks. The suite is well decorated and equipped. It is small---great for a single occupant or a couple that can enjoy the intimacy of a cozy romantic space. The owner, is welcoming, charming and helpful. The suite has pleasing art and furnishings. There is a nice sound system; bring your own CDs.
The Fresco Suite was perfect for our stay. It's in the heart of the West End and easily walkable to many of the sights of Vancouver. The suite had everything we needed, and the bed was ridiculously comfortable. Charlotte (the owner) was extraordinarily helpful during our stay. She provided many helpful dining recommendations and got our parking permit for us (from the local West End community center) which allowed us to park for cheap around the area (~$10 for the week). Otherwise, parking in the decks is much more expensive than that.
I loved the feel of the area--like a cozy neighborhood in the middle of the city. I'm still amazed by the wonderful landscaping and the well-loved historic building. I'd happily stay here again and will recommend it to others visiting Vancouver!
