Unique! This is an apartment that reminds you of a little Provencal house. It's at ground level with patio/terrace, in central city, but shielded from street noise.
There is a large living-dining room, one bedroom with standard double bed and closets, and a mezzanine with single bed, suitable for child or teen. Open kitchen includes all appliances and equipment. Bathroom includes bathtub with hand-held shower.
You enter through an old apartment building, then through an outdoor passage to discover this surprising residence, with patio full of plants, and exposed stone interior wall.
There is electric heating, and double-glazed windows.
Free parking is available in the municipal 'Parking des Italiens', a 15-minute walk, or by shuttle bus (also free) every 15 minutes.
NOTE 3 PERSONS ABSOLUTE MAXIMUM; SORRY, NO EXCEPTIONS!

I am an American, retired here. Previously I lived in Brussels, Belgium serving as European economic representative for the State of Georgia. I decided to live in the Avignon region, because of the culture, history, cuisine, climate and the general lifestyle. It's a very special area.
Jack Turbiville purchased this apartment in 2009
I chose to buy this property, together with a partner, because it seemed a good investment, a very interesting situation, and would give me the opportunity to connect with visitors who are interested in this region.
The situation is excellent for visitors to Avignon because it is centrally located, within walking distance to all attractions of the city. At ground level, the access is easy, and the large terrace is a rare advantage for an apartment in central city.
Avignon is a MAJOR RAIL CENTER, with regional trains going in several directions, and TGV (fast train) service to major cities (non-stop to Paris in 2 hours 40 minutes). The central station is about 15-20 minute walk from this apartment. The TGV station is outside of town, 15 minutes by taxi, or by shuttle train, frequent service.
There is also excellent bus service to all interesting towns in the region; the bus station is next to the central train station.
During the summer season, direct EUROSTAR train service from LONDON to Avignon.
My partner and I spent a full month at Jack's flat during February of 2015 and enjoyed everything about it. We wanted to experience life in Avignon ..........living in a real-life neighborhood, practising our French, soaking up ambience ........and this cozy place allowed us to do just that. We loved that it's a reflection of the local culture and not a quasi-American apartment that could have been anywhere. Super comfortable with a well-equipped kitchen, great TV and wi-fi, and within a block of groceries, bakery, Mon Bar (our hang-out with the locals) and a few blocks from all the main historic sites which are magnificent. So many restaurants to choose from that we couldn't get to them all ..........and these activities were all enjoyed on foot, with no vehicle. Jack is a caring and fully responsive host and responded to all our queries immediately. A lovely bonus is the notebook in the flat with super suggestions for dining and outings created over time by previous guests. We'll always feel as though Avignon is "home" and would return again in a heartbeat. Thank you so much, Jack!
WOW! We spent two luxurious months in this wonderful apartment and feel confident that years from now when we remember our trip to Avignon, it'll be this apartment that we fondly remember the most. The highlight for us was the terrace, gardens and Koi pond to share a bottle of local wine, salad, baguette and fromage. Everything is walkable and convenient and it's a great jump-off place to explore other towns in Provence. Jack, the owner, couldn't be more charming and helpful, going above and beyond the call of duty to make sure we were comfortable. We'd never even consider staying elsewhere when we return. I highly recommend this wonderful piece of paradise to anyone.
This apartment in the heart of Avignon is an excellent home base for exploring the Provence region! The description and photos accurately reflect the apartment. After staying in a small, comfortable apartment in Paris, this place felt quite spacious! Jack met us at the apartment, showed us around, and had plenty of information about the apartment, Avignon, and recommendations for good places to visit and great places to eat. He also showed us where we could park our rental car for free. We were close to a supermarket, bakery, and restaurants. Jack has a friend who is the owner and chef of Bistro Lyonnaise, which is just down the road from the apartment. Eating there was the culinary highlight of our trip! Jack left us his number in case we had any questions, and he called us the day before our departure to see that all had gone well. This was a lovely place to relax with wine and cheese on the private patio in the afternoon, especially with the church bells chiming!
A wonderful stay at Jack's apartment in Avignon. Jack is very helpful and checking to see how my visit was going. No probably being a single female in the apartment. The washing machine, hair dryer and all other appliances were great. Free phone calls to landline US desiginations! The apartment was in a good location for me to walk all over Avignon.
What a gem. It's really a little cottage, beautifully tucked away behind the town houses. Very private with some nice outside space to enjoy, all behind a lockable gate, so great to keep our bikes safe, Very cemtral, round the corner from the very attractive Place du Charmes with its majestic plane trees. Jack could not have been more helpful, collected us from the TGV and sourced bike rental for us. The appartment has everything you need - lovely high ceilings - separate bedroom and bathroom - we could have stayed for months. No hesitation to come again. Many thanks, Lionne & John, Kent, UK
We spent a week in Jacks apartment in early September. Jack was pleasant in our dealings, the apartment was centrally located and the pictures accurate. However more detail needs to be given to its over presentation. The apartment was functional but poorly maintained and attention to the standard of cleanlines needs to be address. Purchasing new crookery and cups replacing the chipped and cracked ones that are currently there, and the bread board that appeared to be mouldy and having bread knife would go along way to making one feel more at home . Also the pillows are well past its useby date. The apartment has a nice feel to it , and l hope the issues can be addressed, it is a good base to explore the region.
