About Kelly

Randy and I just love our quaint little town. When we got engaged at our favorite restaurant on the beach, neighbors and friends called us to congratulate. When we asked how they knew, they all had the same reply that they saw the plane pulling the banner that read 'KELLY! I LOVE YOU! WILL YOU MARRY ME? RANDY'

Kelly purchased this apartment in 1999

Why Kelly chose Seal Beach

There is no need to rent/use a car! It is so lovely to walk only a couple of blocks to Main Street where you can find just about anything! Tons of choices to satisfy any appetite ... Irish, Mexican, Japanese, French, Yucatan, Vietnamese, Italian, Thai, Sushi, Steak & Seafood, 50's Diners, Juice bars, Ice Cream Parlors, Pubs, and so many shops, boutiques, day spas, hair & nail salons, grocery store, drug store, florist, clothing stores, kid's shop, toy store, kite shop, theater, jewelry stores, hardware store and so much more!

What makes this apartment unique

Old Town Seal Beach is just so unique. When you can look out and see Catalina Island just 22 miles off the coast from your own large private deck and fall asleep hearing the waves, it doesn't get any better than that! It is paradise!

Nice little spot

  • 5 of 5

We two friends had a long weekend here to celebrate our mutual birthdays, a large round number and we'll leave it at that. Great location for beach and village access. Seal Beach retains its charm and all the little cottages have been updated. Super good vibe. I think the ice cream place was the only big chain restaurant on Main Street, which has many little shops and dining choices without being obnoxiously touristy. The home is small but very clean with a few vintage touches. Nice large deck just outside the door. Host was welcoming, attentive and accessible and provided a lot of information about area activities and restaurants. We couldn't find the pots and pans (tiny kitchen) but Kelly responded to our call right away and told us where to look (in the linen closet). What could be improved: larger beach towels and stronger wi-fi. But we had a great time and would recommend it.

Great location in Seal Beach!

  • 3 of 5

We had a great time staying in Seal Beach and visiting the surrounding areas. Kelly and Randy are very friendly hosts and were very helpful! The apartment is cozy and feels private even considering there are neighbors surrounding. It would be better suited for 2 people rather than a family of 4 and a dog. I mainly chose this house for the patio pictured online. However I was disappointed to not use it as much as I would've liked. It needs some comfortable seating and a lot of the clutter removed. The bikes were nice to ride downtown and along the beach but we ended up renting our own boogie boards and surfboards. We enjoyed the beach a lot!

Location and deck were excellent

  • 2 of 5

The location of the property in Seal Beach is excellent and worked well for our stay. The large deck is great for privacy. Inside the unit and furniture on the deck needs repair and upgrades. The deck is cluttered and in need of cleaning out the old broken chairs and rusted equipment. Inside, the shower doors need replaced or fixed, and the sofa is ripped, bedding needs upgraded as well. The unit could be very charming, good location, nice and helpful owners, main street is fun, dog beach close by, but, the price was too expensive.

Great location, wonderful town and excellent hosts!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed over Memorial Day weekend and had a great time in Seal Beach. The location of the property is great. While not directly on the beach, you are on the block that's on the beach. There is one home between you and the beach. The property is just a few block from Main Street where we spent much of our time. Main starts at Seal Beach Pier then goes Northeast for a few block until it hits Pacific Coast Highway. This is a little gem of a street with lots of shops and many great places to eat. Our two favorites were The Hangout, which has a beach view. Their breakfast is great and prices are very reasonable. For dinner we liked Beachwood Barbeque the best. Their smoked meats were wonderful and they have an excellent selection of craft beers.

The property is small. It would be perfect for two people. We had 4, 2 adults and 2 kids, so the kids slept on the pullout. We were only there for 4 days and had flown in so we didn't have a lot of stuff with us, so the size wasn't much of an issue. The deck was nice and large and we grilled out a couple of times. The property comes with beach chairs, beach toys, boogie boards, etc... Unfortunately it was overcast, windy and cool the whole time we were there so we got to enjoy only about an hour of the beach. That was the only disappointment, but what can you do?

The owners of the property, who live below, are wonderful! Upon our arrival we had a fresh fruit basket, cookies and a bottle of wine on the counter. If we needed anything or had questions they were there and happy to help.

We would recommend this property and would stay again. The only issue is the fairly small size; perfect for a couple, a little "cozy" for 4. But the other aspects of the property (location, town and owners) keep this at 5 stars for me.

On Wikipedia, our weather is described as Mediterranean. We are surrounded on three sides by water which keeps our temperature quite stable. Typically, the homes & buildings are built on slab. Add in asphalt roads, concrete walkways & alleys which absorb the heat from the sun and slowly release it back into the air so our weather stays very pleasant all year long! We do NOT get the high spikes of heat NOR the rainfall that is typical for other Orange County cities & Los Angeles.
