You'll think you're the first to rent this like new resort-style townhouse. This two-story condominium is an end unit with balconies and decks overlooking a tropical Hawaiian garden area giving you privacy and the feel of a free-standing home. The home was repainted in late 2013 inside. There are three bedrooms and two full bathrooms on the second floor and a separate den/office/game room with a queen sized sleeper sofa upstairs, as well as a conveniently located and separate laundry room with a full sized washer and dryer. You won't need to pack many clothes with this set up. Downstairs is a large kitchen with a round dining table that will fit 8 comfortably, as well as a relaxing living area with a new Flat Screen TV and DVD, and a half-bath to keep you from going up and down the stairs too much. A Brand New 2013 Chevrolet Traverse with seating for up to 8 is available with airport pickup and return included in the fee. See car in pictures.
The unit has central air-conditioning, but the ceiling fans throughout the house usually eliminate the need for A/C when you combine them with the daily tropical breeze. The Hawaiian air is so fresh. The master bedroom suite includes a Tommy Bahama bedroom set and a large relaxation area located inside next to the balcony. All bedrooms include an iHome AM/FM Clock Radio with an iPod docking station as well as broadband wireless internet service. The upstairs den/office/game room includes a printer/copier/scanner and Cable TV with DVD/VCR combo. There's also a collection of many movies (a special children's collection) and books to read as well. The home includes three separate lanai's/balconies, all excellent for relaxing with your morning coffee and a good book, or watching the sunset in the evening.

I am the first owner/occupant of this home and grew up in Palo Alto, California. I am a father of two grown daughters who also enjoy coming to Kauai as often as they can. I spent my career in various finance positions with technology companies in California.
The Owner purchased this townhome in 2006
I purchased this home after I discovered how beautiful and relaxing the Garden Island of Kauai really is. The North Shore of the island reminds me of Hawaii before it was commercialized and built up to be like many other cities in America. You won't find any tall buildings nearby, the traffic flows smoothly over a one-way, one-lane bridge down to Hanalei Bay and the entire island is filled with the Aloha spirit. It is a place you will want to return to as often as you can, some of my renters have done that several times.
This townhouse has unique views and gives you the feeling you are in a much larger home than the almost 1,900 square feet that it is. Across the street is the Makai golf course and a short drive away is the world famous Prince golf course. A mile away is the St. Regis (formerly Princeville) resort where you can enjoy being in one of the nicest resorts in the world. A 5-10 minute drive and you are at Hanalei Bay, ranked number one beach in America in the past. You have the choice of going into the old Hawaiian town of Hanalei with it's historical landmark buildings or going out to the ocean bluff where the brand new St. Regis resort includes modern architecture combined with luxury at its best. I sincerely hope you can experience the unique life style this area of Hawaii has to offer.
Talk about getting a five star place at a three star price! This home away from home is truly a tropical paradise. Never on a vacation have we felt such comfort and convenience. Perfect location for all of the best sites. The place was spotless and extremely well maintained. The owner was extremely friendly and had lots of advice on great places to visit near by. I would highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a pleasant, relaxing, hassle free vacation!
From the initial contact with Jim and subsequent emails since, we were sure that Jim was a great person to deal with and found him very helpful. Our stay was more than comfortable - great King bed in Master, and just as Jim advised, the tradewinds and fans would probably suffice for cooling, and he was absolutely right. We never needed to turn on the AC, and it was never cold outside either! The home has tons of flatware, sharp knives of every kind, enough plates, mugs, thermal coffee mugs even, glasses and plastic cups. We were pleasantly surprised to find a large array of spices available for cooking and a George Foreman grill and rice cooker, even though we didn't use them. It was also handy to have a blender which we did use, as well as dishwasher pucks, dish soap and a starting supply of paper towels and bathroom tissue. What more could you ask for -- well let's see, there were also bicycles, boogie boards, beach chairs and umbrella and a great assortment of coolers for the beach, which we made good use of. We were able to find great gluten-free eating options as well in Hanalei Bay which is about 4 miles from the house, at Hanalei Bread Company (excellent GF crepes and fresh GF Bread), Fresh Bite Food Truck (beside the liquor store) which had incredible GF pancakes with a pineapple ring in the middle, and the Harvest Market (amazing GF scones and muffins and hot prepared foods). Princeville Ranch is about 5 or 10 minutes from the home and has amazing ziplining - 9 lines! Highly recommend it! The pool area was very nice, although watch the hot tub, it is very, very hot! Excellent vacation rental - no worries whatsoever! We will definitely come back when we can, if it's available! Best holiday memories for a worry-free home rental, close to fantastic areas to visit and vacation rental location. Beautiful Princeville!
We'd fallen in love with Kauai about 10 years ago and try to come back every few years. We've stayed at other communities, and this was our first time at Nihilani. This unit was just perfect for our family vacation. We had 8 people (5 adults, 3 kids) staying in the unit, and it was really perfect for us. There were enough beds (including the pull-out), enough chairs and, most importantly, enough nooks for a little escape when someone needed quiet time. The kids had a great time at the pool, too. The car fit everyone nicely, and was perfect for trips to Hanalei, Tunnels or Lydgate. Jim was very responsive. The on-island manager was a little less so, but the few things I tried to contact her about were minor (because the unit is kept in great shape) and didn't impact our trip. I highly recommend this unit (and have already sent out this link to several friends looking to go to Kauai). Next time we are back, we'll be looking to stay here again. Mahalo, Jim!
My Husband and I had the most enjoyable time, This was our first tropical trip anywhere and this home had everything we needed, space, toys, beach toys, a car, ice chests, you really just show up with your luggage, grab some groceries and you are good to go. We will be back. We had the time of our lives .

Family of 3 adults and 2 kids stayed comfortably in this wonderful airy, quiet, and peaceful condo. This location is perfect! You're walking distance to Queens Bath for sunset and other semi-secret beaches in Princeville where you can find sea life you won't see many other places. Also close to my favorite town, Hanalei Bay, and of course the rest of the north shore which is just paradise, and just 5 minutes away from the best ziplining experience on the island (must do). An added bonus for our family of 5 was having a small SUV to not only get us around the island, but pick up and drop off to the airport - making this trip seamless and perfect. Your place is wonderful, Jim. We will be back!
Family of 5 adults met in Hawaii for vacation. Kauai was our final island visited, had a wonderful time, location of this house is excellent for seeing the sites and relaxing. Everything you could need and want was available either at the house or able to get at stores very close by. Beautiful home in a great location.
Movie set sightseeing tours, helicopter rides, ziplining, plantation tours, waimea grand canyon, large park and recreation areas nearby, new miniature golf course completed in 2011. Championship golf course designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr. in 1971, the Makai course just finished a multi-million dollar renovation in 2010 and Golf Digest rated the Prince course as 'Hawaii's No. 1 Golf Course.” The course is actually within walking distance of the home.
