Guestbook comments from the manager

We LOVED the house and the neighborhood and will definitely look to stay there again. I honestly can't say what we would complain about??? was a small TV but we honestly didn't have time to watch it so that didn't bother us either! Everything was perfect!

Thanks, Julie, for these great comments for our future guests It was a pleasure to have you all stay with us! Just so you know, a second, larger TV screen is in the works for 2013.

Lovely home good for entire family!

This house had everything we needed and much much more space then what you can see in the pictures. We would definitely come back to the "Blue La Rua" for our next vacation. All of the furinhings were very beautiful as well.

Great Little Historic House + Great Location

  • 5 of 5

Stayed at this cute home while in Pensacola for Memorial Day. The place is clean, has plenty of sleeping space, is in a great neighborhood and close to everything. Close enough to the freeway for easy access to Pensacola's attractions. It's very cozy as others have said. The owner was very nice, too. I would definitely stay here again!

All the comforts of home

  • 5 of 5

Loved that it was centrally located...all the shops and restaurants and even the beach was just a skip and a hop away. The house itself was quite comfortable and so cozy.

Cute little cottage perfect location between base

  • 3 of 5

Cute little cottage perfect location between base and Pensacola Beach. Positives: Clean, loved the front porch, loved that the coffee was provided so we didn't need to rush right out to grocery store. Negatives: Response time (called the first day we were there and didn't call back for 2 days...luckily it wasn't anything extremely important but she didn't know that). Yard needed work (insect mounds every where and needed to be mowed or weed wacked). Before we came down asked if there was a blow dryer...wish she just said no. The one provided overheated after 5 seconds of use....took 3-4 tries after cool down to get my hair dry and I have short, thin hair. One last thing I didn't care for was the table in the living room. It was uncomfortable after a busy day to come back to the cottage and chill out when two of us could be comfortable sitting on the couch to watch tv and the other had to sit at the table. Feel with the other rooms the cottage has to offer that could be set up better. I stay at a lot of HomeAway properties and this just was not one of my favorites.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your comments and I will take them to heart because we want our little cottage to be the best in downtown Pensacola. In fact, I had already noticed when I returned from out of town that the yard was in need of attention and made sure the yard crew cut it right away. I have put in a new hairdryer. And, I will definitely make sure that I return calls faster, especially on the day of check-in. Thanks again for coming to stay!

What a delight!

  • 5 of 5

We traveled up to Pensacola from Sarasota for a long weekend. We were actually going to see Martin Sexton play in town. I messed up with times and Deb (owner) was kind enough to tack on another day for us. We arrived and were all delighted with the house. We each had our own room and felt the house was plenty adequate. The kitchen was more than aptly stocked. Nice touch!! It was a bit chilly that weekend and there were a few space heaters to use. Yay! We played cards each night at the diningroom table and talked about how much we were enjoying the house. The neighborhood was so pretty. The house was located nicely to get around with ease. We would return to this place for sure!

Great Location for the Seafood Festival

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed staying in this historic cottage. It is conveniently located to the historic area of downtown Pensacola. Although only four adults stayed comfortably, there is plenty of room for larger families. The cottage is filled with wonderful antiques and is quite inviting when spending a long day walking around the town. We will definitely stay here again when we visit the Pensacola area. Thank you Ms. Hughes for your hospitality.

Owner's Response: You are quite welcome and it was a pleasure having you stay in our Blue La Rua Cottage! I hope you can come back, too. One of the other amazing festivals we have is the Great Gulf Coast Arts Festival, and its extensive variety of colorful artworks are a nice complement to our bright blue cottage when you bring them home after a long, happy day on foot! Just as an added bonus, return guests are also given 10% off their next stay with us, as our way of saying thank you for choosing us again. So, thanks for staying and thanks for the great review, and we hope to see you all in the future!
