Overview

About the property

3 bedrooms, 2 Baths, Sleeps 10-12

In the heart of Treasure Island in San Luis Pass, is Tuck's Pointe. Tuck's Pointe is a welcoming and comfortable 1300 square foot beach accessible home with 3 bedrooms, and 2 baths and the beautiful Gulf of Mexico at its doorstep. Relax in this waterfront treasure with vaulted ceilings and abundant windows overlooking incredibly breathtaking and unobstructed panoramic views.

After a fun filled day, retreat to Tuck's Pointe to unwind in the large living room with its big screen TV. or enjoy scenic waterfront dining at the table. Catch an amazing sunrise on the deck with your first cup of coffee, and watch for dolphins playing close to the house. Host a Barbecue on the lower deck while you stand at the waters edge, and gather around the picnic table or go upstairs the deck to enjoy your meal.

San Luis Pass in Treasure Island is a small, quiet family oriented neighborhood. It has the beaches, fishing, and reduced traffic of Surfside, but is ten miles closer to Galveston.

Note, several winter storms have washed the beach directly in front of the home away, however; there is beach about 150 feet from the home.

Great house, great location

  • 5 of 5

Our family enjoyed our trip to Treasure Island. Tuck's Point was a great location right on the water with the sandy beaches only a short walk away. The house was very functional and well stocked.

Great location, needs attention

  • 3 of 5

Being right on the ocean with the water splashing was a treat. Lots of pelicans, gulls and a pod of dolphins surfacing just off our deck. The 12 mile beach a few blocks away was beautiful and great for shelling. Great places to eat within a few miles and in Galveston. The layout design of the house was functional with lots of windows and hardwood floors. There are some very basic needs that are missing for a comfortable stay. The master bath shower is unusable as it is has multiple cracks. The kitchen is not stocked well for any type of cooking /baking. It would be hard to picture 12 people able to stay at one time. Miscelleous other issues that I'm sure Marc will address.

Best view I've ever seen but home needs some love

  • 4 of 5

The biggest, the best, the most AMAZING VIEW OF THE OCEAN. EVER. I’m not lying. The view from Tuck’s Point will absolutely take your breath away…every time you see it. Coffee on the porch in the morning, watch the sun come up in an almost 180 degree side to side view, listening to the rushing surf as you drift off to sleep. Absolute. Beauty.

The kitchen easily accommodated our 6 “kitchen hog” cooks, and the dining room table was a dream for people who like to spread out from one end to the other. All of the beds were super comfortable and the pillows were plump and soft. Overall, the bare bones of the house were exactly what my girl’s trip needed. Do not let the next portion of this review put you off on rental – I would STILL rent this house again!

I reveal the next part with trepidation simply because of the ease of the fix. We drove up and the entirety of the house – under, near, and around was surrounded by trash. And not the “I just blew in today” kind, but stuck to the ground in layers variety. There were loose boards, rusted exterior hardware, and peeling paint along the entire (yes, beach facing) entryway. The coffee maker was broken, which made for very sad ladies needing a caffeine fix. The master bathroom shower was seriously cracked in several places, and the outdoor shower’s hot water handle was broken off, rendering it useless except for washing sand from our feet. We were missing the top sheet for three of the four bunk beds, and the sheets in the queen room appeared to be dirty with hair on them. New sheets were brought the night before we left. All this being said, all of these things are an EASY fix, one that I have been assured will be taken care of promptly – weather and season permitting.

PROS:

Amazing view

Excellent kitchen

Larger than normal bunks

Great layout

Picnic Porch under the house

CONS:

Disrepair of the home

Layers of trash

Dirty / missing sheets

Broken coffee maker

The owner Marc was very helpful. We've stayed in the Treasure Island neighborhood for 7 years in a row. This was our first time on the water. Loved it.
