We rented Mike's house for a family vacation this past August. We had 11 adults and nine kids ranging from 1 to 18 years old..
We all had an amazing time. The house was incredible with very easy access to the beach, playgrounds and The downtown area. The very large kitchen was very helpful since we prepared and ate most dinners at the house. Our family will be back again
My family of five, along with 3 other families recently spent our summer vacation in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. We spent the week at the above beach house owned by Michael Bosley. First and formost the location was fantastic. We were a short drive or walk from the beach and had a park and playground one block from our house. The neighborhood was very neat and quiet, perfect for a family vacation.
The beach house was close to various stores and shopping mall’s which made getting supplies, eating dinner, etc., very convenient. There was adequate parking as well.
The house itself was wonderful for the amount of people we had. We had 9 adults, three teenage girls, seven young children, and an infant. There were enough bedrooms to accommodate all the children and adults. Plus we were able to allow the teenage girls their own room. The house contained a large kitchen area which proved to be very convenient. The house contained 3 full bathrooms and had a washer and dryer setup.
There was also a large rooftop deck which was a nice get away for the adults during the evening hours. The house was very clean and well maintained by the homeowner. He was also available if you had any concerns during your week visit.
Overalll this was a very pleasant experience for my family and I would recommend this beach house for any large group over 15 people or less.
We spent a week in July at Mike’s house in Rehoboth Beach. It was the first trip to the area for many of us, and we gathered from 4 different states for a family reunion. There was enough room for our large family – 6 children ages 2-18 and 11 adults – to stay in the house. The basement became the older kids’ space. There was enough space for everyone to sleep in a bed. We were able to gather for meals prepared in the kitchen and eaten in the large dining room or rooftop deck. There was also room for other family to visit and eat or just hang out with us after a day at the beach. The house is very nice and well maintained.
Preparing for our week in the house actually took a bit of coordination. Each family had to bring (or buy) their own bath and beach towels and bed linens. We brought in everything from toilet paper to hand soap to dishwasher detergent and sponges for the kitchen. There were games and kitchen utensils and small appliances and two grills and even a couple of beach chairs that were provided with the house, but you had to bring or rent the linens. There were quilts and pillows on each bed though.
Two parking permits were provided. Having them was essential for our group since we had quite a few cars. We learned the hard way that you need to use the parking permits on the street outside the house, not just at the beach. For us, with a gaggle of kids, some older adults or with bad knees, the walk to the beach was a bit much – especially in the heat of a summer day carrying everything we needed. We coordinated our trips so that we drove to the beach each day after trying the walk the first day. So those parking passes were definitely used.
The house takes up pretty much the whole lot it’s on, so the only outdoor space is the rooftop deck and the front yard. There is a school around the corner with a field and tennis courts if someone wanted to throw around a football or something. There is a cool footbridge over the river that has ducks and turtles, which was nice. And a park with a playground suitable for little kids was just on the other side of the bridge. We didn’t make it to the pool, which is in another development, but were offered that option. Luckily the WiFi in the house and trips to the beach kept the kids occupied.
All in all, Mike’s house in Rehoboth Beach served as a lovely setting for our family gathering.
This beautiful home is the perfect setting for a family reunion or a "Big Chill" type get-together. We were five college roommates, with our spouses, and five college-age children, and we loved it. Kids had the run of the basement, while we had three rooms with king-sized beds and two rooms with queen-sized beds.
Our favorite part of the house was the deck, or rather decks, on the rooftop. The front deck, overlooking the street, had chairs for three and room for many. The back deck, extremely private and beautiful, had deck chairs for 20. We ate dinner there every night, grilling fish or steaks, ordering in crabs, and many happy hours. It was perfect.
We found the 20-minute walk to the beach to be wonderful: past the local high school, across a foot bridge, and through a pleasant neighborhood. Even though we were there Memorial Day week, our beach front is between Rehoboth Beach and Dewey Beach, so we did not feel crowded at all.
Finally, I want to mention how responsive a landlord Mike was. I probably called him a dozen times during the week I was there, and he usually picked up after the first ring. No question was too stupid for him. He gave us directions to the pool, the tennis courts, the beach, and many other pieces of advice. I highly recommend this property.
We spent 2 weeks this summer with our extended family at Mike's house. It is a very large spacious house. There are 5 bedrooms on the top floor and one large series of beds over 2 rooms in the basement (5 single beds). The kitchen is very well stocked. the family room is huge. The roof, though we didn't use it much, was pretty cool for eating (we were mostly on the front porch.) Having access to parking passes was great as was the pool which is a 10 minute drive away if you have reached beach fatigue. The beach, with small kids, was a 10-15 minute enjoyable walk. The house is right near turtle bridge and a great playground. It is very reasonably priced and high end enough that it feels nice..but not so much that I was afraid at every moment the kids would ruin stuff. Mike was a very responsive host. We had some small fix-it projects and he took care of it within a day.
The only slight downside is the master bedroom has (very pretty) skylights, so if you want to sleep in, you need an eye mask. Also, when you arrive there is nothing - No TP, no paper towles, nothing.... so keep this in mind. Though it is not "beach front", it is pretty close to the beach and priced very well for the size. It is a great house fora large group and I would highly consider going back to this rental.
This was our families first trip to Rehoboth beach and we loved it! The house was very spacious and was perfect for our family. We were 9 adults and 6 children ranging from one year old to four years old. The 7 bedrooms were more than adequate. The large living room was great for the entire family to hang out in. We made use of the large kitchen to cook most of our meals. The roof top was a great place for the adults to relax on. Because we had so many small children, the only thing that would have made our vacation better is if the house was located a little closer to either the beach or the pool. Having the playground close by was great. The owner, Mike was very accessible when any issues or questions arose. He was very easy to work with. We accidentally left something there and Mike called the next renters to locate it and mailed our item to us.
