“Daughter on Grand Mesa near cabin”
This is our favorite picnic spot.
We spend a lot of time at the cabin, we use it throughout the year. We have a small company in Denver and use the cabin
one weekend a month, sometimes 2 if
we can get away.
The Owner purchased this cabin in 2000
We fell in love with the Grand Mesa the first time we visited here.
We sat on the volcanic boulder and dreamed of building a cabin there.
We built the cabin ourselves (with the help of many others) and built the deck right up to the boulder. I still sit on the rock amazed what we have done.
We can’t visit the cabin as much as we wished (live in the big city) but we decided to let others experience what we have done and seen. Watch the sun go down while sitting in the same place, I’m sure you’ll be amazed also
Hope you enjoy it as much as we do
We stayed here in late October and had an amazing time visiting Grand Mesa and hanging out in this picturesque place. The views from the cabin are stunning. The covered wraparound deck is beautiful - we built early morning fires in the chiminea and hung out with mugs of tea, enjoying the sunrise. The cabin is well stocked and very comfortable. Dave was an awesome host and a super nice guy- he gave us lots of sightseeing suggestions and made sure we had everything we needed during out stay. We will definitely be back!
Absolutely AMAZING! This cabin in Grand Mesa, CO surpassed our expectations. My husband and I decided to take our honeymoon here and will definitely be returning! The cabin is clean, well maintained and stocked with some essentials. The activities here are limitless! My husband and I enjoyed wine tasting, hiking, mountain biking, canoeing and 4 wheeling. Some of these activities can be enjoyed right out the front door of the cabin. The views are amazing the sunsets are gorgeous and the wildlife is abundant. A big thank you to Dave for his hospitality and knowledge of the area.
Wayne and Dave, thank you for making our honeymoon a memorable one!!! We will be visiting again.
Rented this cabin for a week with my son and my brother for an adventurous getaway on the Grand Mesa in CO.
The cabin exceeded all our expectations, and was fully equipped with everything you would need!! Dave was very helpful with fulfilling any request we had and giving great info on the area. The views were absolutely breath taking from the cabin. The abundant wildlife around the cabin, sometimes coming within feet of the cabin was great. Thanks soo much Wayne and Dave for a great time. We cant wait to do it again!!
My boyfriend and I went up to this cabin for a quick get a way weekend, what a delightful surprise! There is so much to do, we had to narrow down our wish list of activities and settled on visiting winery's in the area, hiking, camp fires, star gazing, deer watching and thoroughly enjoying our stay. You cannot beat the VIEWS, the view off of the back deck watching the sun set was the favorite part of each of our days there. Thank you to Wayne, Dave and Brenda for being so accommodating and friendly during our whole stay! Could not ask for a better host or cabin to stay in, we would HIGHLY recommend it!
This cabin is great for a weekend away or an extended vacation. The view from the deck is incredible - lots of foliage and wildlife. It is well stocked and very cozy. There is lots to do from hiking and fishing to skiing in the winter.
My husband and I wanted a quiet weekend away from Denver for our anniversary and came across this listing. It turned out to be nothing short of wonderful for the views, hospitality, and a breath-taking preview of Colorado's Grand Mesa. This beautiful cabin (hand crafted by the owners) has great personality and charm. We brought our lab who spent the majority of the weekend entertained on the west-facing porch watching the sun set and listening for critters. I would highly recommend this cabin for anyone headed out west any time of the year. The Palisades are extremely close for your pick of the fresh fruit markets in the summer, and Powder Horn is a short distance for skiing in the winter. We will be back! Many thanks to both David and Wayne, we had such a memory-filled weekend.
