Branson House Rental Photos and Description

House, 7 Bedrooms + Sunroom, 4 Baths, (Sleeps 20)

Luxury, rest, creative space, privacy, peace....hiking, fishing, wooded walks, family memories...we invite you to experience our lakefront home, Rivendell in Branson.

Ideal for family reunions, staff meetings, retreats, luxurious vacations, golf outings, girls getaways, and those who want to hike and fish by day and relax in a hot tub by night...

Our guests have asked to take our mattresses home, 'borrow' our original art :-), move in permanently...One tween hugged her mom and said, 'I feel like I'm a princess!!'

Golfers rest between rounds near the grill or fireside for a game of chess. Fishermen hike down to the lake to our private dock to catch trout for lunch. Families walk through the woods and roast marshmallows over the firepit. Sunlovers tan on the deck and then lounge in the hot tub...

No need to worry about thin walls or loud neighbors or traffic noises...or people even knowing where you are! Our address is literally off the map, tucked away within 8+ acres, hidden by trees on 3 sides and Lake Taneycomo on the fourth.

Though just 3.5 miles from Hwy 76, 6 miles from Branson Landing and minutes further to all the fun Branson offers, you may never want to leave once you pull into the garage...

Wake-up in your luxurious bedroom to watch the deer in the morning. Warm-up to winter seated fireside by the Lord of the Rings chess set. Take a nature walk with loved ones. Enjoy laughter with family and friends around a grand dining table, over a game of shuffleboard, table bowling, foosball, arcade games, or with the Wii.

Watch the sunset with a panoramic lake view on one of the decks. Relax in the 8-10 person hot tub or detox in the 2-person sauna before you say, 'good-night.'

And end the day with a cup of your favorite coffee and a great book from Rivendell's house library as you sink into one of our fabulous chaises and chairs.

Welcome to our family's B&B (without the 2nd B).

Welcome to a private home hidden in the woods on Lake Taneycomo.

Welcome to a resting space where no one can find you and no one is calling your name.

About Alicia

Early 2010, our fun-filled family embarked on four months of remodeling to transform this lakeview home into Rivendell! After taking prayer and writing retreats for 17 years, the door opened for us to create a retreat home of our own.

Through the miracle of adoption, we are the overjoyed parents of three outrageously creative children. Our eldest is gifted with Asperger's Syndrome, our middle is graced with extroverted compassion, and our youngest is currently seeking to master burping the ABCs... We home school part-time, parent full-time, and laugh a lot to stay sane.

Our personal residence is about one hour from Rivendell -- out in the country where you can count the stars. We are the happy guardians of 4 rescued (outside) dogs, 3 odd (outside) cats, 1 rabbit (yes, inside...for the moment), and 9 unusually social chickens.

We write. We travel. We invest in the next generation. We welcome you to Rivendell, our Branson retreat home!

Alicia purchased this house in 2009

Why Alicia chose Missouri

The rocks, hills, trees, lakes...Branson is filled with natural beauty. Since moving to Missouri from Texas in 1996, we've made frequent trips down to Branson to take the kids to Silver Dollar City as a family or to find a quiet retreat for rest and writing individually. We love the drive and often have taken side roads to simply enjoy the scenery.

Over the years, a dream grew in our heart of creating a home that could be a happy haven for families and a spiritual resting place for pilgrims. Our dreams accelerated in October of 2009 when we found this gorgeous home with a beautiful view, private acreage, and enough room for us to create a place of renewal and rest.

What makes this house unique

Reunions, family vacations, staff retreats, personal getaways, a writer's haven...

Groups will enjoy cooking in a beautiful lake view kitchen with 2 ovens. Once dinner is served, all can eat together in a kitchen/dining room that seat 22 comfortably or many more by simply opening the dining room door onto the upper deck.

Families will appreciate two living rooms, a 4-bed bunkroom just inches off the lower family room, loads of interactive games, and enough decks, patios, and yard to give everyone space to roam.

Small groups will delight in several warm rooms ideal for connecting, debriefing, brainstorming, and planning for the future with the only distractions being an occasional eagle and the irresistible sunsets...Our conference-size dining table seats 16 in comfort in a room sure to inspire.

Individuals will relish their private bedrooms, each of which features a relaxing chair/chaise and a desk that will bring out the writer in you! Every room is named, customized, and designed to spoil your body while you rest your mind.

Overall, very imprested and happy with the house.

  • 5 of 5

Overall, very happy. Only one negative was the hot to started to smoke and we called it in, but no one showed up to work on it. The grandkids were disappointed.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your review. We strive as much as possible to keep everything well maintained so each guest has a wonderful experience. Unfortunately sometimes the unexpected breakdown occurs. If at all possible, we will get it repaired that day, but a hot tub requires a hot tub repairman and in the height of summer, it is hard to get an immediate appointment in a town of hundreds of hot tubs and pools. And once the repairman came we had to wait a couple days for parts. This is an unfortunate and rare occurrence, but I always keep up with our guests to let them know the progress and we always, as we did with this guest, compensate them for the inconvenience. Once fixed the hot tub has been up and running and an enjoyment for our guests. Again, we are happy you found the home accommodating overall and we apologize for the inconvenience.

Beautiful, restful property

  • 5 of 5

Our family group of 15 had a wonderful time! It was all we had hoped for. Our experience from beginning to end was great. The location is close enough to Branson to get out and do things, but we spent lots of time at the house, enjoying each other in a beautiful, quiet setting. We did rent a pontoon one afternoon, and saw Moses at Sight and Sound, which we highly recommend. The kitchen was very well stocked.

Owner's Response: We are so glad that your family of 15 enjoyed quality together time at Rivendell as well as some of the Branson sites. Rivendell is large enough for large families with seating for up to 20 between dining table and stools. Although only 6 miles from Branson Landing and the Strip, it is far enough out of the way and nestled in the woods to make it very quiet and private. It is well stocked so you can just bring your clothes and food and begin to enjoy the porch and decks immediately. Thanks you for a great review. We do hope to host your lovely family again in the future.

Owner's Response: Thank you for a wonderful review. We had so much fun decorating each room with commissioned art and an author's touch with unique writing desks and decadent chaise lounges. Our beautiful views come from the vantage point of being on a bluff overlooking Lake Taneycomo. We have made the dock and lake accessible to most by adding rambling switchbacks and adding steps at the bottom where it is the steepest. A mere four minute walk through the woods opens up to a covered dock with outdoor furniture, perfect for enjoying our colorful sunsets or for catching your own fish for supper!

Amazing views, plenty of space for a group!

  • 5 of 5

Lovely, lovely place. It is the perfect retreat, a spot for relaxing. The house was clean, had everything we could possibly need, and lots of space for cooking for a group. The deck on back was my favorite place. I read a book in a comfy chair and just relaxed (not something I do very well, and certainly not very often!) and enjoyed viewing the water and the birds. Our church small group had a great time.

Owner's Response: We are so happy your small church group found Rivendell both accommodating and relaxing. It is the perfect place for a small group retreat. Individuals can enjoy a prayer walk down to the lake and mom's piano makes a great reason for gathering in worship and song. And yet there is enough space to get along for quiet reflection on a comfortable chaise lounge or private deck. We hope to host your lovely group again.

Excellent Place for Family

  • 4 of 5

Our family stayed for a week and had a wonderful time! The management was very easy to work with setting up our reservations. The house and property are beautiful! The weather didn't cooperate with us, so we didn't get to enjoy the outdoors as much as we had hoped. The house is in a quiet location, but there is a nice grocery and a Dollar General not very far away and Branson is about 15 minutes away. There were 14 adults, 4 children, and 1 baby. We had plenty of room in the house. The dining room table seated the 14 adults and we put the children at the kitchen island/bar. The beds are very comfortable except the sheets are not made for the very thick mattresses so the sheets kept popping off! We had plenty of plates, bowls, glasses, silverware, and cooking utensils. However, if you plan on cooking a big pot of something (soup, spaghetti, etc), bring your own stock pot. They provide a standard pot set with 4 normal size pots, not nearly enough for cooking for 18 people. Also, I suggest bringing your own sharp knives for food prep. Lastly, the cribs listed in the amenities are pack and plays. However, we loved our stay and would definitely go back!

Owner's Response: We are so happy your family had a wonderful time at Rivendell in spite of the weather! Thank you for a great review and for giving us the opportunity to improve. We will be buying sheet fasteners! Rivendell is spacious and set up for large families and groups and we endeavor to make sure they have all the comforts of home. In fact, we have had to spill over into the garage to provide some of those things. There is a second refrigerator, shower seat, broiling oven, and large stock pot for our guests' use. I have reviewed "The Tour" that we send to all guests before arrival and have made certain that those items are now all listed. We know that young families have so much that they have to pack so we have provided a child's highchair which is located in the garage and two pack and plays which are described on our listing. And if there is something you can't find, an answer is close by with a phone call or text to the cell phone number provided. Again thank you for a sincere and thoughtful review and for helping us to provide even greater guest service in the future.

Beautiful place to stay!

  • 5 of 5

Our experience staying here was wonderful!! we had a group of 12 adults and loved everything about the place. Out in the timber, quiet, neat hiking, beautiful view, beautifully decorated. They have really thought of everything for what you might want to do while you are there. It was a short drive to most anything off the property you would want to do. Loved the hike down to the lakeside with the floating gazebo.
