We would definitely recommend Sundog Vacation Rentals. We give you 5 stars! We loved the beautiful cabin and gorgeous mountain view! The children tubed the creek and went fishing. I usually do not swim, but my husband could hardly get me out of the relaxing edgeless pool and hot tub!!! We grilled out every night and had long talks beside the outdoor fireplace at the cabin. There was so much to do. You are secluded and surrounded by mountains; however, you are still close to DQ!! Perfect!
We highly recommend this mountain home. It is very clean and well-maintained. We liked the house mascot downstairs. The outdoor fireplace and comfortable chairs were the perfect retreat after sightseeing during the day. We took a train ride one day on the Great Smoky Mountain Railroad out of Bryson City. When we travel we like to find local restaurants; we enjoyed The Jarrett House in Dillsboro.
We like to take the backroads and explore; so it was fun to find a new road each day. If you have heard of Tail of the Dragon; stay at this home and you can drive the road.
Dear Sirs at Sundog,
We had a very wonderful time staying at Nightshade. The house felt just like home with every single thing we could have hoped for. The view and appeal, the top of the line furniture, tv, appliances, the walking trails along the creek, the club house, pool and overall experience was a trip of a lifetime. The weather was great and we could not have asked for more. We will certainly go back. Honestly, we did not want to leave. I would recommend this to any couple or family.
We had a wonderful time. Pleasantly surprised by "the little things" that were provided in the cottage like an umbrella and a cooler. They thought of everything. The bathroom shower in the master bedroom was a dream. The cottage was clean, beds comfy, view unsurpassed. They even did all the work behind the scenes for us to rent a pontoon boat on the lake. All we had to do was show up and start enjoying the weekend. We had a fire in the outside fireplace one night and sat outside wrapped in blankets enjoying the fire. The pool and clubhouse were another bonus. I can't say enough about what a wonderful cottage it was. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, and will definitely be back. The only complaint we had was that there was no cell service at all. But really, on a vacation in the mountains to relax... that's not even a "real" complaint!! We had our 2 teenage sons with us, and they loved the pool, they were not bored once. I also think that because it was such a quiet area, it would be a beautiful place for a honeymoon or romantic weekend away. I give it my highest marks, and definitely recommend it!! The rental company was a dream to deal with. They were friendly and accomodating. We could not have chosen a better cabin in the mountains!!
My husband, daughter, friend, and I stayed at Nightshade operated by Sundog rentals for four nights July 3rd through July 6th. The accomodations exceeded our expectations. The home and furnishing were delightful and well maintained, and the beds were very comfortable. In addition, the staff at Sundog were helpful in introducing us to the area and suggesting fun activities. The home is divided into two properties: Nightshade and Evening Primrose. It appeared to us that these residences were models for Sundog construction company. It is evident that most of the open space around the home are lots for sale. Initially, when checking in, we were expecting to receive a sales pitch to purchase a timeshare or vacation property since the accomodations seemed to be worth so much more than the cost. To our relief, there was no sales pitch, not a word. The Tuckeseegee River is across the street a hundred yards. My daughter and her friend caught 11 fish using fresh corn kernels as bait. The clubhouse and very large pool are kitty corner to the residence. Since the pool was hardly used by anyone else, it seemed as if it was for our exclusive use. To top off our week, for the July 4th holiday there were fireworks for Jackson county which we enjoyed laying on the grass right outside the backdoor.
This is a very beautiful home! The kitchen was well equipped with a wide variety of pots, pans and other utensils easy to cook and hangout with my family. We will stay here again!
The first walking was overwhelming it was so very nice and homey. Our stay was just so relaxing and fun. We had our whole family with us. The porch was great for entertaining. We had a big luncheon and there was room for everyone. We want to come back and just relax. We got locked out of our house and they were great in getting us back in. We can not say enough about Caleb and Mark. Great to work with and were there for us anytime we needed anything. Thanks for making our family wedding weekend a huge success and fun and very memorable. We got such raving reports from all that stayed that it was great. Thanks again.
