This townhome is located in The Galena Territory on the 10th hole of the South Course. Golf right outside your door, and when you're finished...walk home. The home has one bedroom and one attached bathroom on each floor, and has been updated to create a relaxing, cozy retreat. This home has been wonderfully popular with 'girlfriend getaways', golfers, and families as well. The home has a wine cabinet with wine glasses, as well as martini and champagne glasses. Sit around the fireplace and enjoy your time together. We've made it as comfortable as we could with all of the amenities from home. Details like comfortable beds, appealing and updated décor, and cleanliness are important to us. Our kitchen has solid surface countertops and stainless steel appliances, and our cabinets are full of matching dinnerware. We've taken the time to ensure that you will feel at home in our townhome.
The town of Galena is a charming spot that holds dear to its historic roots yet engages and enjoys modern conveniences and modern living. On the banks of the Galena River, this town offers visitors a wealth of activities suitable for many different styles. Try wine tasting at Galena Cellars, or flights of Galena's own craft beer at The Galena Brewery. This town keeps up with the times, yet holds its quaint feel with the small original storefronts and cobble stone streets surrounding buildings that are hundreds of years old.

Shenandoah Riding Center, located The Galena Territory, is open all year, offering guided horseback rides through the woods and meadows in the Galena Territory. It's only a 10 min drive to downtown Galena, where you can enjoy a leisurely stroll through the historic town. Galena is rich in agriculture, and you’ll find no end to fresh food choices. Galena offers a variety of thing to do such as wine tasting tours at Galena Cellars Vineyard, spa treatments at Wild Clover on a Main, and a wonderful dinner at our guests favorite restaurant Fried Green Tomatoes. The shopping cannot be beat. Try The Galena Garlic Store for unique BBQ rubs and spice blends, as well as syrups, salsas and dips. The town offers antiques, collectibles, coffee shops, and incredible pieces of artwork. There is a wonderful variety of food choices downtown from casual to fine dining and well as opportunities to take tours of the town. A new eatery is called Embe Eatery and Lounge, located at 233 S. Main St. which features homemade natural deli style food, a fully stocked bar, and live music and other events every weekend. Definitely a good choice for lunch. Another visitor favorite is a small place called Dirty Gurts. Fabulous burgers and shakes! Wander around on your own, or take an organized tour. Relax on a one-hour narrated tour of Galena’s historic sites on an authentic 1940’s San Francisco-style trolley with Tri-State Trolley, open daily May through October. We would recommend a stop at Blaum Brothers Distillery, which is on Rt 20, on the way into town. They are the #1 attraction in Galena, and they have an unmatched variety of creative drinks! How about The Cornerstone, at 125 N. Main St. for live music? They have a live band set up in the window on Thursday - Sunday nights. There is so much available in Galena.
In the summer, it's easy to spend the entire day at the newly updated Owners Club Complex. There's a new outdoor activity pool, and a separate chidren's pool with zero depth entry and bubbler inside the pool area. The updated fitness center overlooks the pool, and has new equipment and new TV's. They've added a new indoor pool open year round, a snack bar with a great menu and limited alcoholic beverages, a game room with pool tables, and tennis courts outside. And you can't forget that Chestnut Mountain offers summer activities too. Check out their Alpine Slides! Fun for all ages. Ride your own sled down 2,050-feet of terrain-tailored track to the banks of the Mississippi. Or chose to take a ski lift ride down to the Mississippi River instead. Breathtaking views!

We bought our golf villa in 2009 because we have family members that live in the territory. We enjoy spending time here when we can. Galena is close to many attractions. Wineries, antiques, golf, skiing, shopping, dining, museums, historical attractions...more activities than one weekend can handle. Not to mention the fact that the home is located in the Galena Territory, in Eagle Ridge, on the golf course. In the Territory there are restaurants, a spa, a marina, and horse stables.
Bill Stortenbecker purchased this townhome in 2009
We chose to buy in Galena because of it's proximity to the Chicago area and because of the many attractions here. Galena has a lot to offer in terms of entertainment and a lot of variety. It's a very charming yet relaxing town. There are many things to do in Galena including hiking, shopping, sightseeing, wine tasting and of course golfing. The town is filled with quaint shops, coffeehouses and restaurants, as well as artisan shops.
While staying at our property, renters will have access to all of the amenities of the brand new Owners Club Complex at no extra fee. The Owners Club Complex includes an outdoor pool with a designated children's area, an indoor pool for year round use, a concessions area, fitness room, tennis courts, and marina. The Galena Territory is a unique resort community which offers our renters many opportunities to chose from. Golf, swim, fish, relax, work out, or spend a day in the town of Galena. Renters have ample opportunities in the winter as well considering that Chestnut Mountain is only 20 minutes away and offers skiing and snowboarding too. We took much effort to make our home comfortable, updated and clean. When we decided to rent this property, we decided comfort to our guests was the number one priority. We updated nearly everything in the quest, including all of the mattresses, the couch and chair. All of the bedding is high quality thread count, as well as the bath towels. We replaced the dishes and glasses, as nothing at all matched at the time, and we replaced it with a current matching set. We also replaced all if the white kitchen appliances as they were very old and breaking down. We decided to replace them with stainless steel ones, and also replaced the laminate countertop with a solid surface one. We hope that all of our guests have a great time in Galena, and we enjoy it when they stay year after year!
This lovely, warm, inviting townhome was just perfect to handle the overflow of guests that came to Galena to help me celebrate my 60th. The location was great; near the sledding hill, which we used with our sons and granddaughters. Thanks to the owners for providing two sleds! Can I say it again? Perfect!
We had an amazing time at Bill and Debbie's condo. It was perfect for the four of us who stayed there. Very comfortable, well furnished. It is really nice for couples vacationing together as the layout is very nice for privacy!
Bill and Debbie were very responsive when we texted them a question about ordering a pay per view fight.
The condo was nicely furnished, clean and in a beautiful location ( chicagoans beware- cabs are pricey out there!) We were about a 10-15 minute drive from downtown. We hope to stay there again very soon!
A clean comfortable residence with a lots of activities to do in the surrounding territory.
The property was as advertised. Tastefully decorated, very comfortable, with plenty of room for the 6 of us.
My friends and I spent a long weekend in the area, partially to attend the Halloween parade. The location was perfect for us, not too far from downtown Galena. We did use a taxi service that ran $31.00 for four of us to/from downtown each trip. Uber does not operate in the area....
The condo worked out great for the four of us. We did not cook during our stay and because of the time of year, the bugs were bothersome, and we could not enjoy the outdoor space.
I would return in the future.
The property fit our 2 couples great. Very nice, spotless and well stocked. Fall colors where very nice. Appreciated the close proximity to everything we were interested in. Would definitely stay again and recommend to others!
Guests have free access to the new Owners Club Complex, which includes an indoor/outdoor swimming pool. The indoor pool is open year round and the outdoor pool is open Memorial Day through Labor Day. Guests also have use of the marina for boat rentals and fishing. Please get a free parking pass at the Administrative Office located in the Owners Club Complex.
