Cottage, 4 Bedrooms + 2 Baths, (Sleeps 8)
This lakefront Cottage located just 10 minutes from the Bourne Bridge is situated on the 36 acre, spring-fed Ezekiel's Pond, classified as one of the cleanest lakes in Plymouth. Avoid the bridge traffic. No need to find and pay for parking at the beach, when everything is right in your front yard. Here you will find plenty of sun or shade and a gradually-sloping white sand beach leading down to crystal clear water just 50 feet from your door. The cottage is located at the far end of the pond and far away from the main road yet provides easy access to the ocean, many golf courses and all points on the Cape.
The nearby Cape Cod Canal provides an 8 mile long safe and paved, biking, walking or rollerblading trail. You might want to try your hand at saltwater fishing from the jetty or surfcasting at Scussett Beach with it's great waves and beautiful scenery. Need a beach with less waves for the little ones, try Onset Beach a beautiful family beach with warmer waters & beautiful sand. Stay for ice cream and concerts on the common every Wednesday during summer. Maybe you just want to stay by the lake and hike around on the many dirt roads and trails that surround it.
If golf is your passion the nearby courses of Atlantic CC, Crosswinds, the two courses of Pine Hills (Jones and Nicklaus) Bay Pointe or Waverly Oaks courses will challenge your skills. Drive across the bridge and you will find golf courses too numerous to mention.
In town for a wedding? We are nearby White Cliffs Country Club, Bournedale Function Facility, Pinehill Golf Club, Waverly Oaks Golf Club and several others, please check with us if you would like to know distances. A great place to celebrate the joyous occasion as a family.
Boating, waterskiing or sailing on the lake can provide hours of fun in the sun, so bring your canoe, kayak, or Sunfish. Small sailboats & power boats are also allowed. If you have need for more running room, larger powerboats can be launched from White Island Pond or Big Sandy which is just the other side of the access road. The kids can enjoy the nearby water park, go-carting and miniature golfing located just minutes away in Wareham. And if shopping is your thing Mashpee Commons is less than 20 miles away! Take a trip to historic Plymouth to visit Plimoth Plantation, Plymouth Rock or the Mayflower.
This clean, well-equipped cottage has a roomy Master Bedroom with King Size Bed & Dresser while a second Bedroom has a Queen Bed & dresser. Third & fourth Bedrooms located downstairs are each equipped with twin beds and two large windows to capture the breezes and views of the lake. An open space in the lower level of the house provides rainy day entertainment area complete with TV and DVD Player as well as an Air Hockey Table. The kitchen is fully equipped with what you will need to begin your vacation as soon as you arrive. The cottage also has a very large 10' x 28' glass enclosed, completely furnished three season room, and a pass through from the kitchen, which doubles as a bar and makes entertaining a breeze.
Open the glass sliders of the sunroom and enjoy your coffee while you bask in the morning sun letting the gentle breezes from the lake blow your cares away. Or sip cocktails in the evening with your friends and family while the setting sun casts its glow on the pond in front of you.

We had a lovely time at the cottage, mostly spent in the sun room facing the water.... what a great space! The beds were comfortable and the space worked well for our group of 9 (4 adults, 4 kids and a baby). The small beach was PERFECT for our kids and the water is clean!
Nice home, lacking amenities
This is a nice home in a very quiet area which was much appreciated. The owner, Stephanie, communicated quickly and was very helpful with everything we asked. She also accepted a last-minute rental and we appreciated that. The small beach area was perfect for our grandkids to play as the weather permitted. In spite of the good things, there were several drawbacks that I had to consider when doing this review. Accessing the property is time consuming; it is located down a winding dirt road and the nearest grocery stores and restaurants are a good 20 minutes away. It was hot the first day we arrived and then turned cool. We found out the first night that there was no air conditioning. I texted Stephanie, and her response was that it was in the listing. No, it is not. To be honest, the listing does not say the home has an air conditioner, but it also does not say it does not, either. In this day and age, I would assume central heat & air is a given. Just like having a furnace--of course you assume it has one. It was over 80 degrees in the house, even with windows open. The first night we were miserable. The next day it rained and became quite cool. That is when we discovered that the big enclosed porch area was not heated. This is where the dining table is located, and with 7 people, not having a warm place to eat was an issue as well. In addition, there was no dishwasher or washer/dryer. If you are looking for a basic, no frills cottage, then this home is fine, but in this price range, you can find homes with all of these amenities. Maybe I expected too much, but basic cleanliness and hygiene is not too much for anyone to expect. We found dishes that had been put away dirty and not washed. I can see how the owner could have missed this unless all of the dishes were taken out and inspected, and I am sure it never occurred to her to have to do that after every guest. We had to wash all the dishes before and after we used them, and remember, there was no dishwasher. In addition, we were supplied 15 towels for 7 people for 5 days/4 nights. We are from out of state, so did not have extra towels packed with us. I did not appreciate having to re-use towels and washcloths for the entire stay and that was our only option since there was no washer/dryer. And signs said the towels could not be taken outside to the beach. I have rented beach houses before, and beach towels were always provided. The house has many good features, but just not my cup of tea.
As homeowners in the hospitality business, we want our guests to enjoy their stay at our home. After reading your previous reviews, it appears you are struggling to find just the right home for your vacations. Many of your previous reviews said things like "I assumed". A guest should know they can communicate with owners before, during and after the rental regarding needs or concerns. Also, the website has a helpful filter button so you can find a place with all the amenities desired. When asked if you had any questions about the home or area you asked if there were snakes in the lake. You added that is probably a silly question, to which I replied there are no snakes and there are no silly questions, ask me anything. Your reply was-no that's all.
Here are a few questions that may have helped you to find just the right home. We do hope our future guests find it helpful.
Is there air-conditioning? No, we do have fans in each room and there is often a lake breeze, but if you require A/C please go up to filters on Homeaway or VRBO and select air conditioning. When you select A/C and beachfront it removes half the rentals, you will see our home is not listed.
Is the home heated? Our home has new windows, new insulation and is fully heated. If you had communicated your issue we would have had you check to make sure previous guests hadn't closed any vents.
How far is the home from restaurants/stores? We are approximately 15-20 minutes from most restaurants/stores. We are located on a quiet dirt road which many people find a plus, but it's not for everyone.
Is there a washer/dryer/dishwasher? We agree those appliances would be handy to have, unfortunately our home's current septic & electrical systems aren't set up to handle them. There are laundromats close by if needed.
What linens are included? We provide 2 bath towels, 2 washcloths & 1 hand towel per guest. Beach towels can be provided for an extra charge as our confirmation stated. If you had contacted us, we would have happily sent our housekeeper over with more towels. We try to accommodate guests whenever possible.
We're so happy your grandchildren enjoyed the beach and you were able to spend time together as a family. We enjoyed having you and were very pleased that you took such good care of our home. We wish you had communicated with us, so your stay could have been even more enjoyable. We hope you find just the right place for your next vacation.
We stayed here for a sisters Weekend getaway. It is the perfect location. Close to Boston, Plymouth, Cape Cod yet secluded so you can enjoy nature!
It has plenty of space to stretch out & relax. Stephanie's place was clean & she had plenty of kitchen items if you want to cook. I highly recommend.
having the beach outside the house was the best. the property was well kept. the house was clean
I loved it. 4 bedrooms, so guest could visit and stay over. Two floors which gave each some privacy. The sunporch was the focal point. Open window and counter space to pass food to table was a plus. And, having the essential spices and condiments was perfect.
We had great time
Our family had wonderful time at the lake house. We had three kids age 12, 7 and 6 there was plenty of things for them to do. Beside swimming at the lake some of the family members enjoyed fishing too. The house was clean and it had everything you need. Also close to a lot of attentions..
Perfect family house!
We had a wonderful time with children and grandchildren during our week's stay. Plenty to do without having to fight the Cape traffic. Good old fashioned family fun in a picturesque relaxing setting.. We will
