Great location on the Plantation for privacy and exercising.
Easy access to updated ground level end unit villa. Good parking access and no steps to climb. These are side by side villas with no one above or below you. Fairway Oaks features 2 pools for guest use.
We stayed at this villa for a week in June while my husband attended a conference at the Omni. It was a wonderful vacation and we cannot wait to return. I would recommend this property to anyone wanting to enjoy Amelia Island Plantation. The villa was impeccably clean and comfortable, not to mention beautifully furnished with a fabulous kitchen. The access to the two pools was so easy, and getting to the beach and beach-side pool takes just a few minutes. We spent a whole day fishing on the marsh side and intend to do biking tours the next time we return - the plantation is so beautiful.
The condo is very clean and well maintained. It is beautifully decorated with quality appliances, furniture, beds and bedding. There are 4+ pools very close and crystal clean. Mickey, the owner, has thought of many useful items to make your vacation great. There are wonderful views of the marsh and all the while staying on the plantation. The location is peaceful and is just a few miles away to shopping and lots of good food!
Our family of 5 was very comfortable with lots of room. The condo is much bigger than the pictures show. I would never stay anywhere else but here if and when we visit Amelia Island again. This place will absolutely take your breath away with its beauty! The only problem we had was that we didn't want to leave.
The Plantation has some many wonderful amenities, including:
-Great playgrounds for kids
-4+ pools to go swimming in
-Easy access to the ocean
-Many wonderful places to go for walks
We spent 4 days in the condo during October 2010. We were pleasantly surprised at how nice the condo turned out to be. Sometimes pictures make things look better than they really are, but in our case, the pictures did not do it justice. The living/dining room is large and roomy. The couch, love seat and overstuffed chaise were very comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed during our stay. The kitchen has been recently updated with solid surface countertop and new undermount double sink.
Through a sliding door in the living room, there is a screened in patio furnished with a table and four chairs. For those wanting to sit and enjoy the ambiance, there is a comfortalble wicker rocker on the patio as well. To keep you cool, the patio has a ceiling fan to keep those Florida breezes flowing over you as you snooze, play cards, do the crossword puzzle or send emails home using the free wi-fi.
The bedrooms were large with ample closet space. The beds were comfortable and the linens were very high quality. The bathrooms were also nicely appointed with solid surface countertops and tile in the showers. They were clean and there was an ample supply of towels.
When we started looking for a rental in the Amelia Island area, we sent out several inquiries regarding rentals in the area. Mickey was quick to reply and was very accommodating. She worked with us to make sure we had everything we needed to make out stay enjoyable. If we decide to return to Amelia Island in the future, we would certainly make arrangements to stay in Mickey's condo again.
During our stay, we used Mickey's advice and had breakfast at T-Rays in Ferndandina Beach. Great food, funky atmosphere (eating in an old Exxon gas station). We also had lunch at the Marina Restaurant on Centre St near the wharf. Also great food. We also took the sunset cruise on Amelia Sound. We learned about Cumberlain Island and how the Carnegie family used it as a winter getaway. Good fun.
If you are looking for a quiet get away I would certainly recommend this unit. It is close to golf, the beach, shopping and sightseeing. Having said that, it is located in a nicely wooded enclave where you feel as if you are in a secluded grove in the woods. Great place. Great host. Great time!
