This serene, turn-key cottage is a quintessential New England property, located in the quaint village of Litchfield. The house sits on a private cul de sac, less than a mile from the town center, where one can easily walk to charming shops and restaurants. A complement of amenities nearby include: grocery store, wine and spirits shop, pharmacy, post office, public library, churches, and a chabad.
The house is nestled on a lush, landscaped half acre, with a deck and patio, overlooking a fenced backyard.
There are 3 bedrooms. 2 full bathrooms, and a 4-season sun porch with a convertible twin bed sofa. There is a fully-stocked gourmet kitchen with granite countertops and stainless-steel appliances.
Also, a warmly decorated living room and formal dining room. The deck has a premiere gas grill and patio set; the backyard abuts a charming woods.
My name is Sharyn; I live in NYC and am a publishing professional. I was introduced to Litchfield several years ago and fell in love with the area. There's so much to see and do. I was fortunate to find this ideal home 9 years ago, and it's the perfect country getaway! The seasons are amazing; lots of snow in the winter; tons of colors in autumn; quintessential spring and New England summer. I always look forward to spending time at the house and believe you will too.
Sharyn Rosenblum purchased this house in 2007
While staying in Litchfield, you can enjoy extraordinary hiking trails, beautiful wooden covered bridges, roaring streams and water falls and awesome fall follige. You'll be near Lake Compounce, Quassy, and 6 Flags New England amusement parks. Also, there are many antique shops and flea markets nearby.
We (two couples) were visiting Litchfield County for a few days for leisure and this house was a perfect location.
The house, Stone-Pecha, is not only equipped with anything you could need or want, but also well-appointed with beautiful and whimsical artwork, making the house a warm place to settle in each night. We found ourselves lingering over morning coffee on the back deck and reconvening there for the nighttime sky. The house sits at the end of a short street, and looks out onto a wooded area. Although there are houses close by, it’s very quiet and peaceful.
The house is accurately portrayed in the VRBO descriptions and Sharyn was responsive and helpful.
The house is just a short walk to the town center where you’ll find numerous restaurant choices and local retailers. Litchfield was a great jumping off point for our site-seeing ventures. We enjoyed beautiful hikes, scenic drives, farmstand stops and some great local ice cream and cheese!
I would not hesitate to stay in this property again. It was lovely.
Very quiet street. Nice for a quiet getaway. Little stuffy when we first arrived but after opening windows for few mins the stuffy smell went away. Very clean I have dust allergies and can't stand places with ton of dust. Had everything that we needed in kitchen. Bedding and beds both very comfortable. Very homey environment! Only suggestion would be adding a mirror to bedroom with couch. We were getting ready for a wedding and could of used a mirror in each bedroom. Within walking distance to Main Street.
Great house, had everything we needed. We had a wonderful time. Owner was very helpful. Would highly recommend this property.
My husband and I stayed at this house for a week while exploring the Litchfield area and we couldn't have been happier. The house is charming, comfortable and clearly every effort has been made to keep both the kitchen and bathrooms well stocked. The deck is perfect for relaxing--peaceful and pretty--and the grill is a real plus. An easy walk into town where there are great restaurants and shops. A much appreciated totally terrific experience!
We spent a week here - a summer respite from the city. The house is elegant, charming and comfy. We had a great time in the back yard, taking baths in the gorgeous tub and generally relaxing in a very nice, relaxing space. We walked into town for dinner and enjoyed the peace and quiet. It's such a pretty area and we appreciated this house very much.
We spent a week at this wonderful home in Litchfield. The three bedroom home was charmingly decorated and the artwork throughout was fun. The town center was an easy walk to restaurants and shops. The Village restaurant/pub was a favorite. The kitchen was well equipped and we enjoyed using the gas grill on the deck. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this terrific home to friends visiting the area!
