About louis connors

We purchased our property to build a vacation home and for investment. We are 25 minutes to Cancun International Airport, so we can easily get to anyplace in the world. From most of the northern major cities of the USA and CANADA, we can be here sitting on the front porch having a martini, before someone else can get thru the airport at their destination in Florida. Flight time from New York to Cancun is one hour longer than getting to Miami. The entire Mayan Riviera coast is still growing, so it's a great place to live, and play. We LOVE to shop, and this is a shoppers paradise.

Why louis connors chose Puerto Morelos

We really enjoy the tranquility of the Puerto Morelos area and the location is so central to everything going on in the Riviera Maya. Always a sea breeze blowing thru the windows all year round, and you can hear the sound of the surf, or just sit on the porch and watch the pelicans and seagulls fly overhead and swoop in for fish. We have a nice social life, as there are many other english speakers around, from many places, as well as our latin and european friends. We dine with friends frequently, and there is always a new or unique place to try some different cuisine, whether it's at a friends home or party, or in a restaurant specializing in food from another country, which there are plenty of all over the area. There is always some new activity, or festival somewhere. We love to beachwalk, and we meet many people from all over the world who come here for vacation and we get into some very interesting conersations. We love to sit on the oceanfront balcony and just people watch, or swim in the ocean, or in our own private pool, or quietly read in a gently swinging hammock, and listen to music, while mellowing out with the sounds of the sea. We also go to the sidewalk cafes alot for a drink and a chat, and there are loads of them too, in every city and town. There is plenty to see and plenty to do. There is something for everyone here. And then there are the markets. Another bonanza!

What makes this villa unique

Our location is perfect. Everybody wants to shop, or see the sights. More and more repeat guests that have stayed in places like Akumal, Tankah, or Tulum on previous vacations decide to stay with us when they return. 25 minutes from the airport, instead of a 1 -2 hour drive from the airport each way is important. You have to check in at the airport 3 hours ahead of time for international flights these days which means the trip arriving or leaving can take up most of your day. Also, being in the middle of the tourist corridor allows easy access to all the destinations and attractions on offer. More time enjoying things, and less time getting there and getting back.

Excellent Private Getaway

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our time at Casa Coco Mani. It is a great location - beautiful and private. We were greeted with cocktails by Louis, the property manager, and his wife Anna. They were really helpful in getting us oriented and gave great advice on the local restaurants. And at the end of our week, Anna gave us freshly baked cake as a parting gift. Neddie and Elma (spelling?) kept the gardens and house pristine and more. They surprised us with some delicious guacamole and fresh coconut drinks cut from the trees on the property.

We enjoyed the Croco Cun Zoo where the tours are in small groups and the place is oriented towards rescue. Our other recommended local trip was snorkeling on the reef off Puerto Morelos. You are taken out on a boat and snorkel with a guide. All equipment is provided and the cost is only 500 pesos per person.

Turning to some practical advice, you do need a car as the center of Puerto Morelos is a couple of miles away, as is the local supermarket (Chedraui). We have T-Mobile in the USA which provides free mobile phone and data service in Mexico and we used this quite successfully.

In summary, this is a beautiful hideaway. We recommend it.

Owner's Response: Another nice family that were a pleasure to host. They didn't venture far from the property during their stay, and they still managed to do and see alot nearby. We hope they return someday.

Beautiful, Exotic and Relaxing Hideaway

  • 5 of 5

My family of 5 and I just spent a delightful summer vacation at this home and it was wonderful. We thought it may be hot because it was August in the tropics, and were pleasantly surprised that there was a nice breeze coming off the ocean everyday. The water temperature both in the pool and in the ocean was just right. We sat on the porch and watched the ships passing far out at sea, and played on what seemed our own private beach. Even though there were other people in residence, there are few on the beach at any given time. Antonio the caretaker, cut and opened fresh coconuts for us, and we put rum and spices in them, and drank our own version of authentic pina colladas. That was a first for all of us. The house was the cleanest beach house we ever rented, and the oceanfront garden was a delight. We grilled lunch several times right by the ocean, and went out for dinner every night. There are tons of restaurants everywhere you go. A week was not enough time. We'll be back!

Beautiful spot to relax and enjoy Puerto Morelos!!!!!!

  • 5 of 5

We couldn't be happier with our choice of this house. Louis was very helpful in corresponding to my questions before we arrived. Then on arrival Louis and his lovely wife Ann were there to greet us and show us around the property. And not to forget the margaritas that Ann had ready for us. Then they went with us on the short drive to town to show us where the shopping and restaurants were. The house was clean and had everything we needed. Aldo the caretaker was there if we needed him but not under foot. Loved sitting on the ocean wall and watching ships go by in the dark of night as well as the roof top deck for star gazing. Our last night we were surprised by a fireworks show from one of the resorts north of the house. A fun way to end our stay. Plenty to do if you feel like it, Mayan ruins, cenotes, fishing and snorkeling trips. Or if you prefer to be lazy there is that pool and ocean. What more can I say? We hope to return.

More than beautiful

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I recently stayed for a week with 3 other family members at casa coco mani in Puerto Morelos.First I would like to give thanks to the homeaway website for a great listing and helpful information on this property. But most of all my family and I would like to thank Louis and Ana Conners for their great hospitality during our vacation. After a short ride down the highway and a interesting trip down a sandy beach road They greeted us at the home with a fruit basket and some margaritas. The home was as advertised, quiet, clean, safe and right on the beach. The grounds were well maintained and the pool was awesome. We all spent some time swinging in the hammock under the coconut trees. We had several nice adventures while we were in the Rivera Maya. We took a 1 1/2 hour drive down to Tulum to visit the ruins and spend the afternoon at the Zazil Kin beach bar where my niece and I took our first snorkeling trip out to the reef. Lots of sea turtles and pretty colored fish. We also drove 40 minutes south to Playa Del Carmen to walk the avenue and pick up gifts for friends and family. It's a nice day trip to grab lunch on the beach and a few cold beers. I am an avid fisherman so I had to book a 6 hrs sportfishing trip while I was down there. I stayed close to the house and booked my trip out of El Cid Marina in Puerto Morelos. Great time, caught a few fish including my nieces first Mahi-Mahi which they filleted and we took back to the house and cooked on the outside grill.(Twice). Oh yeah the grill ... Louis had a fresh stack of seasoned wood to start the fire with and I added some carbon and away we went. Fish , beef ribs, pork chops vegetables and potatoes. Always a breeze coming off the water so I wasn't melting cooking outside. Also spent a nice time at the square in the village of PM. Took a nice snorkeling tour from Marina Pelicanos right next to the pier. We spent an hour out on the reef with a guide showing us all kinds of wildlife. Turtles, eels, barracuda , permit , all kind of fish and even a lobster. Highly recommend if you snorkel, it's the closest you get to the coral. Words can't explain the beauty .Our last two days there we stayed around the house to enjoy the home. The sunrise every morning provided us some great photos through the coconut trees. The sea wall seemed to be a gathering spot to view the ocean and reef. On the last day we took one more snorkel trip right out in front of the house to some nice clear water, loved it!

Beautiful place in authentic Mexico - May 2017

  • 5 of 5

Upon our arrival to Casa Coco Mani, Louis and Ana welcomed us with fresh made margaritas and a lovely fruit basket. They orientated us with the house and gave local recommendations for restaurants, shops and activities. We drove to Chichen Itza, Tulum and Muyil. We also drove into Mercado 28 in Cancun. It was great shopping. Thelma and Nedi were great. Nedi kept up the house maintenence and the pool while Thelma did the housekeeping. They were very nice to talk with. Nedi cut fresh coconuts down from the tree and we drank the fresh milk. Thelma surprised us mid-week with a hugh plate of fresh made-guacamole and chips. We met Louis and Ana in the town during the annual fishing contest on Sunday afternoon. It was fun just to walk around and check out the locals. The restaurants and shops were great! Seems like we went to the grocery store, Chedraui, everyday. Would recommend to all.... great place!!

Nice beach front property near Puerto Morelos

  • 5 of 5

At arrival we received a large bowl of fresh, tropical fruit and the children received several times coconuts from the many palm trees on the property. Louis, the manager, provided us with useful information about the area and even gave us a tour of the surrounding area. The house is well located on the beach and it takes only about a 10 minutes drive to reach Puerto Morelos. The two care takers did a very through job on keeping both the interior of the house and the space around it perfectly clean. The house has all the amenities needed for a relaxing vacation. We highly recommend this property for a vacation on Riviera Maya.
