|Minimum Stay||2 - 7 nights|
New construction, 4 bedroom, 3.5 bath home with 2 separate living areas. This home has a reverse floor plan with the living room, kitchen, screened porch and master bedroom on the top floor. There are hardwood floors and cathedral ceilings here. The many large windows offer a panoramic view of the bay and the wildlife refuge. The kitchen is well appointed and spacious with granite countertops, stainless steel appliances and a breakfast bar that seats four. The floor below has 3 bedrooms, 2 baths as well as another living area and balcony. There are 2 queen beds and 2 twins on this floor. The ground floor has a storage and game room(with a foosball table) and there is an outside shower and a gas grill.
In a short walk past 3 to 4 homes you are on a lovely private beach. This is a wonderful area for long walks down the sandy beach or playing in the water and enjoying the sun. You can fish right from the beach and also have your dog on the beach. There is a country store that has food and beach needs within walking distance. The wildlife refuge has walking trails for bird watching and streams for fishing. Restaurants, movies, outlet malls with tax free shopping are within a 10 mile drive.
Great Christmas week rental for the 8 of us! Lots of room, well appointed kitchen, open living room and nice screened porch. Easy walk to the beach. Accommodating owner. Look forward to returning to this quaint resort community.
Fantastic location. The home is great, and the owner is extremely accommodating.
WE loved this house. It is so spacious and clean and has lots of room to both be together and separate. It is quiet in the evenings, the children had no trouble sleeping. WE had 4 adults and 2 children. There are games to play which they have supplied and lots of pots and pans for cooking, and a crock pot and lots of extras not found at other rentals. It is close to the beach. WE went for a long weekend over Columbus Day and it was the perfect spot to go. It was great - thank you!!!
My family and I fully enjoyed our stay here the week leading up to Labor Day 2015. Home is beautiful with a very open space plan. As schools were already back in session in Delaware it felt as though we had run of the beach and even left our chairs and umbrellas out a couple of days for our return after lunch.
So to give you an idea we had 6 adults, 2 children (10 and 4 years old) and 2 dogs (small) and never felt like we were on top of each other. BK the owner was delightful to work with from booking to the week up to our stay. House was spotless upon arrival and if anyone has rented from VRBO, Airbnb, etc. knows you don’t always get that.
Broadkill Beach is East of Milton (about 5 miles) and is very secluded. However you are not far away from things; Milton is about 10 minutes, Rehoboth Beach is about 30 minute drive south. The beach is on the bay so not huge waves but perfect for small kids and the dogs loved it!
Places we ate and loved:
modern mixture too - Milton
“great Mexican food and huge portions, would recommend calling a head for large parties”
The Gate House of Lewes - Lewes
“great menu found something to eat for everyone; they even made nuggets for the 4 year old”
Dogfish Head Brewings & Eats - Rehoboth Beach
“great bar food, ate here before going back to Milton for the Dogfish Head Brewery Tour”
But because the house had such a large kitchen we ate in quite a bit!
Things we did and loved:
Funland - Rehoboth Beach
“nice little amusement park for the kids”
Rehoboth Beach Boardwalk
“great boardwalk, east coast all the way”
Jungle Jim's - Rehoboth Beach
“wife and I took our daughter here for the day to have a little immediate family time, small but great waterpark”
Dogfish Head Craft Brewery - Milton
“whole family went to the brewery had great sampling of beer (free) and great tour (free)”
We spent most of our days on the beach soaking up some much need Vitamin D!
Very spacious well planned out home. Plenty of room for everyone to have their own personal space Outside shower was great, plenty of hot water for everyone.
Rented home for a vacation and to attend a wedding. The wedding was on the Saturday of Labor Day weekend. We had the beach to ourselves, and the neighborhood is very nice. Short drive to Rehoboth and grocery stores. Dogfish Head Brewery tour was great.
Loved this rental property, owner was wonderful to work with. This is a definite 10 out of 10.
Our family loved this house. The open kitchen, all of the windows, the gas fireplace, and the layout was great. The marsh sunsets were spectacular. The house was very clean and had everything needed for game night and a great meal. There was plenty of room for us to spread out and have our own space. We were there in the winter but if it was summer we would have definitely enjoyed the screen porch. The only thing missing was a modern flat screen television-big screen HD (right above the fireplace).
