Wonderful House for visiting Yosemite National Park

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in the Meadow Woods home from August 1st through 9th of 2015. The location is great with easy access to all parts of Yosemite National Park. If at all possible try to arrive at the house in daylight when approaching, at least the first time. The house is nice and we particularly enjoyed sitting out on the deck for a meal or just relaxing. If you are going to stay here don’t buy any Yosemite Guide Books because the house has all of the good ones. The kitchen also has the little things you might forget to bring, salt, pepper, paper towels, etc. Annie’s tip to stop at the Raley’s supermarket in Oakhurst California if you are coming for the south was a good one. The only store nearby is in Yosemite Village and it is more of a convenience store than a super market. The WIFI is adequate for e-mail and web surfing, but not for streaming movies. There was a problem with WIFI while we were at the house and Annie helped resolve the issue quickly. We loved our trip to Yosemite and the house added to the experience. We can recommend staying here.

Wonderful Cabin; Excellent Location

  • 5 of 5

Meadow Wood is a wonderful cabin located on an beautiful, forested island amongst the burnt forests in Foresta. Absolutely beautiful in the spring, with a variety of wild flowers and in close proximity to Yosemite Valley. The property was clean and had all of the amenities for a great family vacation - a good sized kitchen, picnic table and deck, gas BBQ and was well-supplied with wood for the wood stove.

The cabin location is within hiking distance of a little-known waterfall and good fly-fishing creek, with great roads for mountain biking and equally great views of Yosemite Valley across the highway.

Warm, homey and perfect!!

  • 5 of 5

When I walked into this wonderful cabin/home, I realized that it was exactly what I was looking for and more. My husband, adult son and I stayed for 3 nights. The first thing that I saw was a hand written welcome note from Annie and Rick, giving us extra tips about the house and the area. The home has the feel of a cabin, with all of the modern conveniences. The kitchen and living room are one big open area. The beds were very comfortable, with plenty of extra blankets, if needed. The heat was great and easy to turn on/adjust. The TV worked well. There were plenty of towels and we did some of our wash. The washer and dryer were easy to use. The house has a lot of personal touches to make it feel homey. Annie is an artist and her beautiful paintings of the Yosemite area, decorate the house. Annie and Rick left a notebook with info about the house and lots of info about Yosemite; places to visit, maps, etc. They also have a variety of books about Yosemite and the area, with history and pictures. They were interesting and helpful to us. The house was easy to find, with excellent directions, and although there are other houses in the area, it feels very private. We cooked on the BBQ grill on the deck and made breakfasts at the house. The kitchen was well supplied with pots, pans, nice dishes, cups, silverware, coffee, tea, spices and etc. The house is pretty central to many areas in Yosemite. We drove to visitor's Centers and took the shuttle to areas that we wanted to see. The house was as pictured in the rental listing and better! The house was very clean and obviously well maintained. The yard area had been raked, while leaving a natural setting. Although we didn't have a need to call Annie and Rick, I would have felt perfectly comfortable doing so. Renting the property was easy. We also walked around the property, watching a sunrise from a little hill in the yard area, while deer bounded by. I would highly recommend the property to family and friends, and hope to go back someday myself. If you love the feel of a private, beautiful cabin in the woods, you will love this place!!

PERFECT!!

  • 5 of 5

This was a perfect base for our 6 days in Yosemite. It was my husband, me and our grown daughter. We could not have asked for a more perfect vacation.

We drove in from Reno down Highway 395 and entered on the Tioga Road and it was SNOWING!!! We are from Central Texas, so this was lots of fun. The directions sent were great and all our dealings both by phone and email were easy.

The house has everything you need. The kitchen has all the comforts of home. There are plenty of towels. And it is so nice to have a washer and dryer. I like to go home clean -- saves lots of time when you get home. The hot water heater works very well.

It was nice to have WiFi when we got back to the house each evening in order to send pictures home.

The beds are comfortable and so were the couches in the living area. Lots of room.

We also had time to sit on the deck and enjoy the late afternoon with a glass of wine. The chairs are comfortable and the setting is so relaxing. You felt like you were all alone! So peaceful.

While there -- Monday - Friday -- the skies were clear and it was sunny -- perfect for hiking. We did a lot of hiking. My daughter made it part way up the chains on Half Dome and I hiked down from Glacier Point along the Panorama Trail, which was gorgeous!!!

The house is about 25 minutes from the hustle and bustle of the Valley and a great place to stay. It is central whether going down to the Valley or up Tioga Road to hike in the Toulumne Meadows. They had a lot of information at the house about the area.

We had a great time and highly recommend this property. The owners are easy to work with and the location could not be better. When we come back to Yosemite, we definitely will try to stay here.

Relax away from the crowds!

  • 4 of 5

Last year we stayed at Annie's rental in Yosemite West, this year to try something new we stayed in Foresta. Both were perfectly located with easy access to the valley! Loved Foresta a little more just because the kids could easily run around the outdoors and play, play, play. Will definitely go back to either spot in the future.

Perfect for visiting the Valley

  • 4 of 5

Stayed here President's Weekend 2014 for a short trip up to Yosemite and found the cabin to be perfect. Setting up the reservation was extremely easy with prompt responses from Annie every time. Getting to the cabin was very easy, even in the dark, the signs are extremely helpful!

The cabin itself was way bigger than what my boyfriend and I needed, but for a last minute trip finding something for 2 people was challenging. We could have easily fit another 5 people in beds; though the one bathroom could start to get complicated at that point. The cabin was very comfortable and had everything that we could possibly need. The fully stocked kitchen, with more pots and pans that I have in my own apartment, was great for making meals and the gas stove outside worked perfectly. Even though it was cold outside the fireplace and heater worked great.

I would definitely recommend this property to anyone looking for a place near the valley and would love to stay here again myself.
