I am an IT Professional, and Ken is a Real Estate Agent with the Kenworthy Team in our home town of Coolidge, AZ. I invested in this house originally as my Tucson home for its views and convenience, and now live in Coolidge, but we can't let this beautiful home go! We love this house and we love Tucson, and we come for weekends as often as possible when it's not being enjoyed by you!
The views, the beehive fireplace, the long walks and bike rides - great food and a movie theater within walking distance of a mile or so - the coyotes celebrating at night - the lizards sunning on the wall, the monsoons coming over the Catalinas, the sunsets, the weekend farmers markets, the hiking trails...
A short distance from Catalina State Park for hikes, the beautiful saguaro grove along Rancho Vistoso on the way to the grocery store, beautiful long walks and bike rides, a couple of hours of beautiful scenic driving to Kitt Peak, an hour to Saguaro National Park, the quiet community - I could go on and on!
This house has beautiful views of the Catalina mountains. It was clean, quiet, spacious and very well equipped. The location was near restaurants, shopping, golf and the neighborhood is a pleasure to walk. We were very satisfied and I would recommend this house to anyone.
This was our second year staying January and February on Hammerstone. We found the house comfortable with all the amenities we needed. It is in a quiet neighborhood that is safe and convenient to shopping, restaurants and other places of interest. This year we enjoyed walking and hiking in the Catalina State Park that is only a short distance away. We also took in a play at the Great American Playhouse just down the street. On the patio we enjoyed seeing some of the local dessert wildlife and birds and an unobstructed view of the beautiful Arizona sunsets. Ken and Melody are great hosts and very easy to work with.
We loved waking up to the mountain views (the pictures don't do it justice). Very convenient to Tucson and even Phoenix. The house is beautiful and well-furnished with everything you need. Wonderful king bed and huge tub in master bathroom. Ken and Melody are great and the price is better than any other comparable house we could find. Thanks for a great place to stay!
I lived in this house while working a summer internship in Oro Valley and it was perfect. The neighborhood is very quiet, dark, and comfortable. The house is within 5 minutes of a shopping center but it doesn't feel like it's in the middle of a city. You are within about 40 minutes of downtown Tucson and a little over an hour from Phoenix, but I think Oro Valley is a much nicer place to live than either.
The house is very well furnished. The bed and furniture as well as the kitchen equipment is all high quality. The back patio is a great place to spend mornings and evenings with a great view and working wireless internet.
The tenants were quick to respond to any questions or concerns I had which were surprisingly few. I gave Ken and Melody very short notice before making an offer and they responded immediately and were very organized and professional. I was a first time renter and they made it very easy for me.
It is ready to live in immediately and is a very clean and comfortable home. I would recommend this home to anyone!
If you want cleanliness, gorgeous views, peaceful neighborhood, nearby shopping, and all the things you are used to at home (wine cooler, office, fireplace, kitchen utensils galore, etc.) then you should consider staying at this property. We enjoyed an entire month and the hosts made sure we had everything we wanted. A great venue!
We eagerly returned for a second year to Hammerstone. Once again it met all our expectations plus. Reiterating some of last year's comments, it is a wonderfully located, well-equipped desert retreat. We managed a myriad of activities - morning walks, mountain hikes, golf, road trips (to San Xavier, Tubac, and the Amerind Foundation), great dining, and always the mountain shadows in the evening. Can't wait to come back!
The neighborhood is a lovely mixed community of young an old - and is VERY QUIET - but active. You'll see lots of folks out walking or biking. We have lots of wildlife around the house, but none of it will be dangerous to you unless you seek it out for harm - you'll likely see lizards a plenty, possibly bobcat & javelina, and hear the coyotes at night. Night hawks and bats are also plentiful at night.
