Jane McCarty purchased this house in 2006
I discovered Kino Bay completey by accident!! Flew down to visit a friend over a two day period and ended up buying my first house. Was not even looking to buy a house in mexico. Fell in love with the beach at kino bay and the friendly people. Figured I would buy to use once I retired.
My house is not a typical rental in that it is very nicely furnished and has pretty much everything you need for your stay. It is located right on the beach with a beautiful covered veranda area that let's you sit outside for hours without getting burned. It is also up from the beach so while you see the water no one sitting on the beach can see you!!
The house is as advertised. Lots of space and a great patio. Very clean. We had an emergency and the property management people and local police were very helpful. Happy ending.
This house came as advertised. The interior was spacious and well kept. Although there was plenty of room for two couples with bedrooms at both ends of the house, It would be especially nice for a family with kids. Exterior spaces were great with a large shaded patio that allowed a good view of Pelican Island and splendid views of photogenic sunrises and sunsets. The main bedroom opens out onto the patio if you like ocean sounds at night. One issue would be for those who are "gourmet" cooks. There is a paucity of pots and pans so I would advise bringing your own specialty cookware if you were cooking at home much...but then that is why many of us are on vacation, to experience local cooking which there is in abundance. Another thing that we liked about this house is that it is across the street from an OXXO ( 7-11 store) which carries everything you might need food wise. Very handy for those breakfast items you forgot. So why 4 instead of five stars ? It would be pretty inconvenient for disabeled elders or for those in wheelchairs. I would recommend this house for it's cleanliness, location, helpfulness from the owner and managers and peaceful useful spaces such as the secure car park and lovely patio and outdoor grill. Also, it is right on the ocean where the sea is always entertaining.
My wife, daughter and I visited Kino Bay and stayed in this home during the Thanksgiving holiday and I must say it was the most relaxing getaway we have had in a long time! This house is right on the beach. You can hear the waves from any room in the house when the windows are open. The place was VERY clean when we arrived and everything was as decsribed in the rental posting. I would defintely reccomend this home to anyone looking for a relaxing vacation on the beach. Thank you so much for letting us experience your home! We hope to be back soon! Corey & Karla S.- Tucson, AZ.
This was the perfect place to stay in Bahia Kino. We were there in June, 2009. The house is on the beach and is well kept. The exterior areas of the property are great!! The covered patio provides great protection from the sun. The local seafood is second to none. The locals are friendly and helpful. We will stay here again and highly recommend this house. Thanks, Jane.
We had a great time in Kino! The home was beautiful! The MBR has a great view of the water and beautiful sunsets! We'd return to this home again & recommend it to others.
We had a lovely stay in this charming beach house and the owner/host, Jane, was a pleasure to deal with.
The house is indeed ON THE WATER on the beautiful beach of Kino Bay. Both the beach and the house were very clean and the area was quite secure.
We stayed here in Feb which was a bit chilly/windy, and I recommend bringing extra bedding during a winter stay to be cozy & warm.
The beach faces south so you can see the sunrise over Isla Tiburon and watch it set over the water...very unique!
All the fresh seafood you could ask for can be found just up the road in Old Kino.
A delightful stay!
