• Once you have settled in, take the relaxing stroll along the waterfront into the quaint town of Kailua (Note: there are a couple of great coffee shops that open early each morning, allowing you to sit outside and watch the waves splash on shore -- or brew your own Kona coffee in our condo and enjoy your private lanai).

• No need to hassle with driving - the shops and restaurants, spa and even a luau - are all within easy walking distance along a quiet side street.

• Or you can keep busy from morning 'til midnight, exploring the Kona Coast - hiking, biking, birding, fishing, snorkeling, scuba diving, exploring remote beaches, the active volcano, green and black sand beaches, etc.

Relaxing in the condo or out on the lanai is luxurious and refreshing. We have just purchased a new KING bed so you can plan on a good night's sleep, too! The AC in the bedroom is a bit noisy ... but it cools off the room within a few minutes and then the ceiling fan can purr quietly all night to keep you cool. In order to keep it healthy for everyone, PLEASE -- No Smoking in the condo or on the lanai.

Great location, wonderful condo, marvelous views of the waves and Incredible Value

What a wonderful condo! The location can't be beat -- so close to the Kailua village, the great farmers market and of course the ABC stores! We saved a LOT by not eating/drinking out very much -- not because there weren't some good options in town but because the view from the lanai was SO refreshing and relaxing, we opted to 'dine in' (and enjoy our coffee and wine with incredible views of the water). The rental rate for this condo is VERY reasonable -- I have already recommended it to several friends. As beautiful as the pictures are on the web site, they don't begin to do it justice. Book this condo early -- Debi has a lot of us return guest so her calendar fills up quickly. Thanks Debi for sharing your condo -- it is such a great place for our trips to Kona! We enjoy interacting with you as we look forward to our fabulous trips to Kona.

Fantastic comfortable, clean unit with a perfect location on the oceanfront!

Debi's unit in the D building of Kona Reef is on the ground floor directly oceanfront. I don't think there is a more perfect location in the Kona Reef complex or on the island for that matter. We loved the spacious patio which is very private even though it fronts the shoreline. Amazing ocean and sunset views every day! The 1 bedroom unit was very clean and comfortable and well stocked with absolutely everything we needed including spices, condiments, beach towels, beach chairs, soft side cooler, boogie boards etc. The bed was very comfortable and all furnishings were in great condition and very comfortable. You can tell Debi takes pride in her vacation home. The kitchen was well supplied including with non breakable dishes for use at the BBQ grill at the pool area. Having the in-suite washer/dryer was very convenient. The unit kept cool even without use of the AC (we rarely turned it on as there are ceiling fans in the rooms and the ocean breeze is lovely through the screen doors). The pool area is well maintained with plenty of loungers and BBQ grills worked well. There is also a nice grassy area along the front of the complex with some loungers for sunbathing or watching the sunsets. The complex is located very convenient for walking to shops and restaurants and is central for accessing many other island activities or tours easily by car. I highly recommend the Kona Reef and Debi's unit!

Heaven on earth

The condo was clean, well stocked and very comfortable. (July 14-23, 2016) Ended up sleeping on the pull out couch bed ( air mattress was like a sleep # bed) Could hear and see the ocean and watch the sun and moon set over the ocean. The pool and jacuzzi was clean and so convenient. We walked down to the ocean every day---it was approx. 40 ft from our lanai. Debi is very responsive with any questions--you can call her and she actually answers her phone. We are hooked, my husband and I will be staying here every time we come to Hawaii!!!

Couldn't ask for more

This condo has it all. Just steps from the ocean with beautiful sunset views. The condo was clean and comfortable with a well-ctocked kitchen. Sitting on the lanai in the mornings with a cup of coffee was great. And the condo is far enough away from the hubub of Kona to be peaceful at night but close enough for a short stroll to shops, restaurants, and other entertainment. I am already trying to figure out how to get back!

I hate to write this reveiw, but i have to be honest. I read these things before i make our choice. Location could not be any better, view wow. Complex great, pool area, bbq, grounds well kept.

We stayed in D2 ground floor. Walked in, it was flithy. Went to open blinds, flithy and some of them fell to the ground. Need new ones bad. Contacted owner, very apologic. Offered to send cleaning crew back and did refund our cleaning deposit. We said thanks but cleaned the place ourselves. They never got it right the first time. Ceiling fans needed repaired only high and medium speed. Need low. No supplies, had to go buy soap for dishwasher, sink, one roll of toilet paper supplied. So we had to buy, smallest pack i could buy was four, so left two. Do not know if cleaner takes leftover s home from other people. Talked to other people renting, their condos were fully stocked. I did let the owner know, i hope they take my advice and clean the place up, stock it, do the repairs. Cause it is a great location, complex was good, short walk to town, quiet.

I would go back, but not to that condo unless i heard that they cleaned the place up

Owner's Response: Let me assure you – I KNOW that a clean condo is of utmost importance to my guests (and to me and my cleaning crew!) I realize that when you walk into our condo, you want to be able to immediately relax and enjoy yourselves … and a thoroughly clean condo will enable you to do exactly that. Whenever I hear of a concern or a need, I try to respond immediately. This guest called me as soon as they arrived and told me that when they opened the blinds (on the lanai sliding doors) two of the blades fell to the floor. These blinds are vertical blinds – so if they are not turned flat before they are pushed open, sometimes the blades pop off. She also told me that the sliding door glass was dirty. I told her that the cleaners would be able to come back in about an hour and address any of their concerns & rehang the two blind blades. She did NOT want them to come back. ??? When she called to tell me there were no dishwashing ‘pods’ I called the cleaner immediately -- when the cleaner came to the condo door with a new box of dishwasher pods, the guest indicated that they did not want them. I agree – the pods should have been there – but the fact that the supply under the sink had run out was overlooked by the cleaning crew. I tried to ‘fix’ it for the guests. To my knowledge, all the other supplies were indeed there – Various liquid and bar soaps, shampoo, conditioner, tissues, toilet paper, paper towels, laundry soap, dryer sheets, Etc.! We keep extra supplies in the cupboard by the washer and dryer. I did not hear from this guest about the fan speed issue until they had departed. We do have two additional (portable) fans in the condo but I know that having the overhead fan purring quietly is important to some of our guests. That is why we have one in the living room area as well as in the bedroom. It is really important to me that our guests know that I am available to respond to any concerns or maintenance issues while they are there enjoying Kona. I can usually resolve any concerns … if the guests allow me to do so!

Best place in Kona!

My girlfriends and I rented two condos in the Kona Reef resort. I was able to stay with one of my girlfriends in this wonderful condo. We found ourselves starting the day together on the lanai with the ocean a mere 20 feet away right in front of us. The kitchen was well-equipped for our needs and we took full advantage of the great pool area. The condo was perfectly located just north of the downtown area so it was easy to walk to various dinner or happy hour locations. It was a great time away and I was able to return refreshed from a very relaxing stay with friends. I highly recommend for anyone with a car or who enjoys walking to various locations in Kona.
