Blind Pass Condos is a 108 unit complex of 2 and 3 bedroom units. It's landscaped with a large variety of tropical plants and is located at Bowman's Beach, a wonderful beach that goes on for miles and is well-known for its good beach-combing and shelling. Captiva Island with its restaurants and shopping is just a few miles away. A pint and lunch at the seaside Mucky Duck Pub is a MUST side trip! Blind Pass is also near the Ding Darling Nature preserve where you can walk or drive on self-directed tours. Sanibel shops and restaurants are a short drive away or you can bike the island on the extensive bike trails. Bikes are easily rented on the island.
The complex offers a large swimming pool, Clubhouse with free wireless internet available (wireless connection is available in the unit), 2 tennis courts, BBQ grill area with picnic tables & gas grills, and free use of canoes & kayaks. Beach towels are available in the condo, and beach umbrella & chairs, and beach cart. The beach is accessed by a short walkway that goes over a wooden footbridge spanning a bayou. It is scenic 5 minute walk that does not cross any roads. Our unit overlooks one of the tennis courts, and does not have an ocean view and is close to the office, pool and barbecues.

My husband Pete & I are co-owners of this Blind Pass condo on Sanibel Island. Pete's English from Nottingham, and I'm Canadian from Ontario.
Peter Bullock purchased this condo in 2006
We have been visiting Sanibel for about 15 years now, going down to a time share for a week every year. It was never long enough, and eventually we decided to take the plunge and buy our own place so we could spend more time in one of our most favorite spots.
Sanibel is well known for it's shell collecting, wildlife watching and great restaurants. We know you will enjoy all these, as well as long walks on the beaches, bike riding on the extensive bike paths over the island, and the great weather. It's a place you will want to come back to year after year.
This was my family of 6 first stay at this condo unit where we were for the past week (mid-March). When we arrived we found the unit to be appropriately cleaned. The condo was well laid out and very comfortable to relax, cook, and eat. The kitchen had all of the utensils that we needed. We used the blender to make tasty Pina Coladas. Hmmm! We cooked in for all of the nights except for one and we used the community grills 4x during the week. With this first floor unit, the grills are conveiniently located one the other side of the tennis court. Blind Pass has 5 Weber gas grills to use; a very nice set up. We brought a perforated pan to cook veggies and fish, which worked out great. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook each meal. The kitchen table is big enough to comfortably accommodate 6 people and could handle 8. The living room furniture was comfortable, especially the rocker. There were TV's in the living room and in all bedrooms that we never used.
The unit had a blender, coffee maker, washer, dryer and fairly new SST kitchen appliances. The bedrooms were all nicely furnished to store our clothes. 2 of the 3 bathrooms had what appeared to be new shower units that had multiple shower heads or nozzles and had large shower stalls. There were hairdryers in at least 2 of the bathrooms. The air conditioning worked good in the day time, but it was limited to 71 degrees at night which made it a little too warm for us. The unit had a screened in porch which we used to sit out and relax and play some board games.
There are 2 tennis courts in the complex; one is right outside the unit. And the swimming pool and condo association's offices are no more than 50 yards from the unit; very conveinient. The staff at Blind Pass was helpful and accommodating. The unit came with multiple toys to enjoy your time there including: a beach wagon, several coolers of different sizes, some children's beach toys, Frisbee, about 4 beach chairs, a beach umbrella, a small space heater, and some fishing rods and reels. However, the umbrella isn't particularly robust and several of the chairs are showing their age. It's about a 5 minute walk down to the beautiful Bowman Beach. We watch several sunsets there. Gorgeous. We rented bikes for the week but it was a 7 mile ride into town and then back, so we wouldn't do that again.
Peter, the owner responded promptly to all emails. In summary, I highly recommend staying here.
My family and I stayed in the condo for a week after Christmas and such a wonderful and relaxing time. The condo was clean and well laid out for our large family of 7 (2 adults and 5 kids). The kitchen had any utensil or appliance that we needed. The shower in one of the bathrooms was amazing. It has four different setting: An over head, a six nozzle jet, a foot setting and a removal hand held nozzle. The condo is about a one minute walk to the pool. The tennis courts are right outside the porch. The beach is about a five-ten minute walk. The beach was one of the best parts of our stay the Blind Pass Part of Bowman's beach was beautiful and felt so secluded. We could see how crowded the beach was by the public entrance, but it was almost empty by us. We ate at Island Pizza (okay), Doc Ford's (delicious), The Lazy Flamingo (very good) and The Island a Cow (a fun experience with great food). The Blind Pass complex is well maintained and has very relaxed tropical feel. It is about a 20 minute drive to the nearest market (Jerry's), but being away from Sanibel's main drag made our stay so much more relaxing. The is a CVS that is a little closer.
We spent most our time on the beach or by the pool, but we did take a day trip to Cayo Costa. The captain of the boat we took described the island as a little slice of heaven and he was so right. The beach was beautiful and the ride out was great. The kids saw dolphins riding in the wake of the boat a few times.
Although we did not do this, people could kayak in Blind Pass Bayou and it looked like there were kayaks that residents of the complex could rent or use.
The pool was great. Even when it was crowded, there was still plenty of seating. It was heated to about 85 degrees the whole time we were there.
The only bad part about the vacation was coming home. My family and I had such a wonderful time and look forward to returning again.
The girls and I stayed at this condo 2 years ago and we had a great time and absolutely loved the condo. You can read my review from August 2011. We were sooooo disappointed this time. I am not sure if the condos are under new management or what but it was nothing like the last time we stayed. When we got there the washer was not working we called on Saturday and got a return call on Sunday stating that the plumber was not available until Tuesday we didn't hear back from the office so we called again and they did get a plumber to come out on Tuesday and fix the washer by that time the garbage disposal had backed up from the dishwasher and it smelled like sewer water which was all over the floor. The kitchen sink was not installed there was a one inch gap where the sink had fallen so on Tuesday evening everything was fixed but the washer only worked sometimes the dryer was not connected to the hose and someone had to come fix that but it didn't help the clothes took a long time to dry. The furniture in the living room is dirty and smells bad we were not comfortable sitting on it. The living room rug was filthy, the windows look like they haven't been cleaned in ages and the carpet on the back porch was nasty and infested with bugs either sand fleas or no see ems. The condo grounds are not kept up like before, there are big patches on the lawns without grass, they no longer water the grass daily like they did 2 years ago and the plants look sickly. The new updated bathrooms were great, the beds are okay and the bedrooms were decorated nicely. I think the condo needs new living room furniture, a new rug, a new washer and dryer, some new and larger pots and pans, salt and pepper and other kitchen condiments, take the rug off the back porch and a super good cleaning. It was not the vacation we expected. Overall we had a good time and the condo was priced right. The beach was great and the shells are awesome. We ate at Doc Ford's, Cheeburger Cheeburger, and Overeasy all of which were delicious.
We had a wonderful 2 week stay in E-103. Bowmans beach is beautiful and not busy; a few times we were the only ones there! We also thought it was the best beach for shelling. Our condo was clean and spacious and we found the beds to be firm, but comfy. A couple of little suggestions: a rug by the sliding door to wipe sandy feet on and a better vacuum to suck up sand from the tile floors. Yes, the bathrooms need updating, but they get the job done. The shower in our guest bath was draining slowly upon our arrival, but after mentioning the problem to Amber in the office, we had a maintenance man at our door in less than 20 minutes! All of the condo staff was helpful and friendly. Be sure to use the kayaks and canoes; we took them out a couple of times and had a lot of fun. On one trip, we even saw some manatees! We also had an awesome dolphin experience aboard the Sanibel Thriller (Amber's recommendation). Captain JR and First Mate Keaton took us on an exciting ride around the islands and JR slowed down several times so that groups of dolphins could play in the wake of the boat. They were so close we could almost touch them!! We ate most of our meals at the condo, but did make it to the Island Cow and Doc Fords, both were good. We found Bailey's General Store to be handy and reasonably priced on most grocery items. Our favorite treat was Pinocchio's. They have the BEST ice cream and such a friendly staff. Don't let the long lines scare you away; they get you through fast and besides, the wait is so worth it. Be sure and try the "Elvis" flavor if they have it--yummy!
I stayed in this condo for a week in April with my husband and three grown children. It as a perfect place for our family reunion. The apartment was spacious, immaculately clean, and decorated in a charming and fanciful manner..shelly and beachy! Everything we needed to cook great meals and to enjoy our time on the beach was provided..chairs,toys,beachmats, etc. The umbrellas and fishing pole could be refurbished..our only criticism. The short walk to the beach on a bridge over an inner waterway was exquisite. The beach was quiet and pristine, the swimming wonderful. Seabirds abound, dolphins swim by occasionally. There are kayaks and canoes and a great grilling area free of charge. we can't rave enough!
Our unit was very spacious and was located on Bowman Beach which is where we wanted to stay. The bathrooms need updating and it is 2 bath not 21/2 bath. The beds very not very comfortable so some of us slept on the couches. The day before checkout, the cleaning crew started calling at 8:30am to see if we were checking out before check out time which was 10 am. The was a vending machine on the property which stayed empty the whole time we were there.
Some of the positives was the location. We were close to Captive which had excellent restaurants. It was definitely quiet and the beaches were full of shells.
