Bring your own boat and use the long dock, or just enjoy the beach and gentle slope into the water. Rocklette is tucked just inside the mouth of West Bay, so it’s protected but also has great views of the lake. We have a nice 50-ft long dock and 42 feet of waterfront, which is perfect for all kinds of water activities. Plus, we’re right next to the uninhabited end of the lake, so there’s very little boat traffic.
Rocklette includes a chemical-free two-person hot tub on the deck just outside the master suite (and also accessible from the main deck.) That means you won’t smell like chlorine after you use it – and it’s a great way to warm up after waterskiing early in the morning, or just enjoying a cocktail at sunset!
Inside, the house is perfect for one or two families, with two bedrooms with queen beds, plus two loft bedrooms with four twin beds and lots of extra floor space for kids. Enjoy the Jacuzzi tub in the full bath in the master suite, and the main bath is also a full bathroom. The second bedroom also has an ensuite powder room. Finally, the leather sofa in the living room is a pull-out full-sized bed for extra sleeping accommodations.
We want you to feel that you’ve gotten such a great vacation that you can’t wait to book Rocklette again for future trips. Diamond Lake is inexpensive relative to Lake Chelan or Coeur d’Alene, but it’s the perfect size lake for all water sports including fishing (trout, bass, sunfish and perch), waterskiing or jet skis, swimming, canoeing, sailing, or just floating lazily on an inflatable. We live right next door most of the summer, so we can answer any questions you have or direct you to some of the local activities on and around Diamond Lake.

Hi, I'm Denise. My husband Doug and I want to welcome you to visit Rocklette. We're active owners, generally living in our place next door during summer, and we love meeting the folks who join us at Diamond Lake!
Doug Gorder purchased this cabin in 2008
Completely renovated with all new flooring, paint, kitchen counters, bathroom fixtures, furniture, beds and bedding. Our renters say it's a beautiful setting with charming decor, and a very relaxing place to spend time.
You’ll love the coziness and warm colors of “Rocklette,” our two-bedroom, two loft home. We put in lots of touches that we liked in places we stay, such as great mattresses with plush bedding and high thread-count sheets, comfortable leather furniture, a fully-equipped kitchen, great colors and warm lighting. Everything is set up to be easy to use and great for entertaining or just relaxing. Find a space of your own to enjoy on one of three decks; each with a lake view: Barbecue and enjoy food and friends on the spacious main deck just outside the living room, with gas barbecue and two tables with seating. Or relax in the two-person hot tub on the deck outside the master bedroom. Our own favorite is the “sun deck” right at water’s edge, a large new deck that is great for reading or getting a little sun. Northeast Washington State is a great locale in the summer. There are lots of outdoor activities and destinations like Silverwood Theme Park, Sandpoint Idaho, or the Nelson Loop (a great drive up to Nelson British Columbia).
We have been so fortunate have stayed at Rocklette for the last three summers. The cabin is wonderful. It is clean, spacious, modern and very well equipped with everything you would need, right down to spices and beach towels. The lake is great, clean and calm, perfect for water sports. Our 10 year old loves the skiing and our 8 year old loves netting minnows and feeding ducks.
Doug and Denise are wonderful hosts and always so helpful. We have loved getting to know them and so many of the neighbors over the years. We start planning our July arrival just after Chirstmas with great anticipation. When we arrive it feels like home and when we leave.....well, it hurts.
PS. Ben misses Nellie and Zeus.
We have enjoyed Rocklette many times over the last several years. When our journey began, our children were young and the upstairs rooms became the "boys room" and the "girls room." Those labels stay with our teens today. We have been able to have our immediate family, grandparents and aunts all come to visit.
The home is beautifully decorated and well maintained. We love the outdoor deck and patio areas and the hot tub is wonderful after a swim in the lake! We love spending our time outdoors hiking, swimming, boating and just lounging. The location is awesome as you are close enough to Newport to poke around for the day or drive a bit further to experience Sandpoint, Coeur d'Alene or Spokane. We love going to Owen's for lunch...they have the best old fashion milk shakes!
The owners not only provide a terrific location but are also there for any questions or concerns. The home is always clean and welcoming and they even leave a welcome on the large chalk board in the kitchen! They are not just the property owners but terrific people as well!

We stayed at this property for 10 days prior to our son's wedding. We had 5 adults there for the entire 10 days, and 8 adults for the weekend of the wedding. It was absolutely perfect! The cabin is nicely decorated and furnished, and the owners were very attentive to our calls/needs. The upstairs area would be perfect for families with "tweens". It has a large open area and place for them to get away from the younger members of the family and the elders. We enjoyed the outdoor space and the views were spectacular. We will definitely try to stay here when we visit again, and would recommend it to others. It is very conveniently located for day trips to Coeur de Alene, Mt. Spokane, and other scenic venues.
In searching for a vacation this July, we discovered this home was available for a 1 week period. The listing description was accurate. We had great weather and made good use of the BBQ, hot tub, paddle & row boat. The owners thought of everything you might need during your stay. There are 3 antique & collectible shops in Newport, a 30 minute drive, Sandpoint, ID is a short drive and has lots of attractions.
We have already recommend this property to our family, as its a great location on the lake. You'll have a good view of the sunrise and reflection on the water, and are located across the water from the highway.
Listing info and pictures are why we picked this place; we wanted more than a cabin and that is what we got. Property was neat and clean and there was nothing lacking. We enjoyed going to Newport and Sandpoint and did some antique shopping. Had nice walks in the morning, enjoyed the deck listening to and watching a variety of birds and activity on the water. Hot tub for two was nice but preferred the jetted tub in the masterbath (no bugs). I'd recommend this as a getaway for anyone. I would have given it 5 stars, but for us the beds were not entirely comfortable and that may just be our "old bones", one bed is very firm and the other queen less so, so we ended up using both, alternating nights. The access to the water is good; able to wade in and hop on our float rings and paddle around. TV and games to play for kids and adults.
the property exceeded all expectations, beautiful location, very well maintained and clean and an extremely well equipped kitchen. The owners were friendly but not intrusive. I would certainly recommend this property to anyone. We were a very mixed age group (from toddlers to grandparents) and we all had an absolutely splendid time. The lake is lovely to swim in and the boats supplied to play with were just brilliant. A lovely holiday that exceeded all hopes and expectations.
