Relax in our new custom built home on 7 1/2 private fenced and gated acres with panoramic Glacier Park vistas of the front range of the Rocky Mountains. Enjoy the views and solitude from the expansive redwood deck overlooking active beaver ponds where wildlife and birds abound. Moose, bear, deer, fox, waterfowl, and songbirds are frequent visitors where they share with us the natural beauty of Montana. Our home is sheltered in a gently sloping aspen
grove with berry bushes, dogwood, and marsh grasses surrounding the ponds. The property is located two miles from the village of East Glacier Park (Amtrak stop) and from there a short drive to the entrance of Glacier National Park.
The house consists of three bedrooms and two baths. There are two 4' showers and an antique clawfoot tub where one can luxuriate after a long days hike. Each bedroom has mountain and pond views. The two main floor bedrooms each have two twin beds while the upstairs master bedroom has a king bed where the sunsets and alpenglow will amaze you. Go to sleep to the sound of beaver tails slapping the pond surface reminding you of the wilderness around you.
The open floor plan on the main level has 12' ceilings with knotty pine paneling, circular-sawn wood floors, solid maple kitchen cabinetry, and limitless views of mountain peaks. Sit in the comfortable living room recounting your days events or daydreaming as you overlook the ponds, Mt. Henry and Scenic Point. The dining area has a large oak table with seating for up to ten dinner guests. In building our dream home, much thought and effort went into designing the kitchen. In this large space you have the accoutrements and prep area to create the simplest of Montana breakfasts to the haute cuisine of a gourmet 5 star restaurant.
The optional sleeping cabin can accommodate two guests with a double futon bed and a twin bed, electric heat. It has rustic pine paneling, wood floors, and views of the main pond and mountain peaks. The cabin has no plumbing but is only a few short steps from the main house. Ask owner about extra charge to use the sleeping cabin.
Whether you are whitewater rafting, kayaking, fishing the renowned Blackfeet Reservation lakes or in Glacier Park, summiting the surrounding peaks, hiking the picturesque Glacier Park trails, horseback riding, attending Pow Wow Days in Browning, golfing, sightseeing on the scenic Going to the Sun Road or hiking out your front door on tribal lands, you can be certain that an adventure awaits you in Big Sky Country. No matter where the events of the day may lead you, there is always a warm comfortable home awaiting your return.
We are avid outdoor lovers that feel a deep connection to the wilds of Montana. We have designed and built this home ourselves with craftsmanship and careful attention to detail.
The Owner purchased this house in 2008
The Rocky Mountain Front is one of the true wild places in the lower 48 states. The proximity to Glacier National Park and the surrounding untrammeled lands drew us to this unique location.
We are able to immerse ourselves in the surrounding beauty whether walking around the ponds or relaxing on the sofa gazing out the picture windows.
We felt we'll taken care of by Barb and Phil who made it clear they were available to help with whatever questions we might have. The house is airy and clean and had a beautiful view - and it's a hop skip and a jump through jaw dropping vistas to get to the best the park has to offer. There are also several tasty places to eat in Nearby East Glacier. We felt lucky to stay at this beautiful home!
We LOVED staying at this house! It was beautiful and inviting inside. Great view from the master bedroom. Our family of 6 had plenty of space to enjoy our time. The owners were wonderful to communicate with. The house was clean and had all the basics for cooking. They had several jackets our kids wore because we were not prepared for the cooler temps, and they loved using walking sticks. Easy to get to the east entrance of park and not a bad drive to the west entrance. We had a wonderful stay here and would stay here again.
What a great house this is ! We loved our stay here because it was a very comfortable home with windows and decks to see the mountains as well as the wildlife. We found everything we needed in the kitchen as well as games, laundry and bear spray. The house is very clean and modern with great furniture, heat and everything you might need. Phil had good suggestions about places to eat and places to go see. Staying on this side of the Park was so much more enjoyable. You have easy access to the West Side of Glacier for day trips as well as less traffic and a more laid back atmosphere. I can't say enough good things about this house and the people who own it. I would love to go back and stay here longer.

Loved the house and loved the location. Our family of 6 spent a week with this house as our base camp. The house was very well stocked-more than I anticipated. Close enough to the areas of the park without being in the thick of things. We cooked most of our meals in the kitchen. The house was very well stocked-more than I anticipated. Barb and Phil were very helpful and easy to work with. Called ahead to let us know about detours due the the fires. Phil even ran over with a freshly caught trout to throw on the grill. The views were stunning and we had multiple bear sightings. We will definitely be back some day.
We stayed at two different homes during our Montana stay and this was by far the best! Phil and Barb maintained excellent communication before/during our stay. The house was super clean and well stocked... they thought of everything. What a great place to experience God's beauty. Definitely recommend!!
Simply put, our family loved it. Phil and Barb's cabin was perfect for our family of eight. Some nights we ate out and good restaurants choices from pizza to steak were not far away. Other nights we cooked out and Barb and Phil's cabin provided everything we needed for that as well. The huckleberries were thick and so were the Bears. We had multiple sightings every day. By adding the bunk house, we slept 8 very comfortably and at a fraction of the cost to stay in the park. The park is very big however we found this location very accessible to not only the east side but the west side of the park was only an hour drive away thru gorgeous country. Our gathering was a celebration of my retirement and birthdays. What a wonderful choice we made to share those memories. We have already talked about retuning to GNP for more adventure, relaxing, and fun. The vote was confirmed unanimously, Barb and Phil's cabin will be our Base Camp again!
