Poconos Cottage Rental Photos and Description

Lake View Cottage, 4 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 10)

WEEKS AVAILABLE:

8/14-8/21 ($1600)

Come enjoy our beautiful 4 bedroom, 2 bathroom cottage with beautiful views of the south end of Lake Wallenpaupack throughout the year. A manageable 100 mile, 2 hour trek from NYC, less than 2 1/2 hours from Philly.

Between the spring and early fall seasons, enjoy the cottage side patio with your group, where you'll cook on the Weber propane grill, enjoy the lake views while dining at the 8’ picnic table, and relax on chaise lounges during the day, and during the evening, roast marshmallows and make s'mores at the fire pit. Enjoy the views, your favorite beverage, and conversation on the covered front porch, furnished with comfortable outdoor furniture. Bring your boat, up to 24’L, and moor it in your own slip located directly across the street, in protected, no wake water. Navigate the Big Lake, 13 miles long, where you'll swim, tube, ski, and fish, or throw out the anchor and enjoy captivating scenery. Enjoy the convenience of the no-wake zone opposite the cottage, about 1.5 miles in length, great for the kayaking or canoeing enthusiast. Take a short drive to the beach, or to the outdoor recreational area, where you’ll enjoy the clean, heated, life-guarded outdoor swimming pool and kiddie pool, open between Memorial Day and Labor Day, or play tennis, shoot some hoops, play volleyball and horseshoes, or take a well-deserved break and watch the children as they enjoy the playground. Walk to lake or pond fishing, too!

Winter recreational opportunities abound! The lake freezes hard, followed by snowfall, where you may then enjoy cross country skiing, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, ice fishing, and sledding, or drive about 30 minutes to either Camelback or Montage Ski Resorts for downhill skiing and snow tubing, or to Mt. Airy Casino.

Want to cook a hot meal for your group? No worries! Our cottage is equipped with ample pots, pans, dishes, and small appliances, so you won't skip a beat. You may also consider grilling your main course on the convenient Weber propane grill, available for your use year 'round.

You will appreciate the rustic charm of our cottage, highlighted by a natural field stone wood burning fireplace, and also the modern conveniences that you are accustomed to at home: Air conditioning, WIFI, 32” Sony Bravia HDTV with expanded HD channels, HD DVR, DVD. Have peace of mind during your stay knowing that the property owner is environmentally-conscious, subscribing to the delivery of 100% renewable wind energy to this property. Select this property with confidence as the owner enjoys a lifelong connection to it, translating to the fact that this property is continually well cared for and clean. Read about the positive experiences our past guests have had!

Why Mark Laudenslager chose Poconos

My parents bought this cottage in the mid 1960's, when I was 5 years old. I have many fond memories of our cottage and the Lake. My parents worked very hard to provide our family a vacation home to enjoy and be proud of. I always knew that it was important to keep the Lake in my life as I grew older. I fulfilled my dream of staying firmly connected to the Lake, and bought the cottage from my siblings in 2010. I am grateful for the compromise by my wife and daughter, as owning a second home comes with sacrifices. We have made many upgrades to the cottage, and I enjoy reading about the great experiences our renters have had.

What makes this cottage unique

The location of the cottage is wonderful. There is convenience to the lake with the added benefit of accessibility to the swimming pool, tennis courts, and playground. There are also pleasant views of the lake, especially after the leaves fall. Our cottage offers a blend of rustic charm with the modern conveniences of Wifi, HDTV, AC, and free long distance. The property is enjoyed and maintained by the owner. The property owners are hands-on, and actually alternate cleanings with a cleaning woman, not a service, to assure that the property is cleaned to a level you would expect. The owner's reliability and life-long connection to this property translate into a commitment to the property that will assure satisfaction with your rental experience! Owner actually pays a higher electric rate and subscribes to a 100% renewable electric service provider. Electric supply to this property compliments of 100% wind energy!

Guestbook comments from the owner

We had a woderful week in your lovely lake house!! Lots of room for relaxing, big kitchen, comfy bedrooms, great location, & we enjoyed the front patio/porch!! The boat slip made boating & hanging out on the boat very convenient. We really felt right at home...and what a gorgeous lake!!

Our stay was great!

  • 4 of 5

We booked a weekend to celebrate father's day weekend. As a family we brought a canoe and 5 kayaks. The ramp to access the lake was just across the street. We got in several paddling adventures. My granddaughter is still smiling as a result of catching the most fish at the stocked pond. The weber grill was easy to light and conveniently located just outside of the kitchen door. We toasted marshmallows at fire pit and swam during the day in what appeared to be an Olympic sized pool. Everyone came home tired and with the desire to return someday in the future.

Best stay ever

  • 5 of 5

This home was cozy and super clean! I would recommend this to anyone that is looking for a getaway from the city life. The wood provided for the fire pit makes everything so convenient.the house was always cool because it had a great shade with the trees. Mark was amazing to deal with and had everything in order as he stated. My family and I loved our stay, planning another one soon.

Great Weekend

  • 5 of 5

A few old college friends and myself spent a weekend at the property to catch up and get some fresh air away from the city. Basically, the place was perfect. The home was clean, inviting and addressed our needs in every aspect we could ask for. The BBQ and firepit were perfect for the evening and the view of the lake just added to the atmosphere. Mark was thorough, true-to-word, and overall, just great to work with. Highly recommended. Thanks for a great weekend!

Fun family weekend

  • 5 of 5

We spent Labor Day weekend in the house and had a wonderful time. The cabin is as advertised, although I didn't realize there wasn't a dishwasher until we got there. However, the fire pit more than made up for it! Mark was a pleasure to deal with, responsive, honest generous. The community facilities were a bonus.

Great spot for our family... Wish we were still there!

  • 5 of 5

Our family just returned from a relaxing week at this cabin. The amenities are as advertised, and definitely made for a comfortable stay. The iffy cell reception was a challenge, but there is a benefit to being a little out of touch for a week. We borrowed boats, and carried them to the lake each time... Next time we would rent the boat slip instead. Making arrangements with the owner was very pleasant from start to finish. We heartily recommend this place!

Extended Family Vacation

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our stay at this home. There was plenty of room for the 6 adults and 1 toddler in our group. We really enjoyed the setting and the neighborhood. It was great to be outside but also in a shaded area where it didn't get too hot. We used the pool and playground almost every night. While we were there, we checked out the zoo and went on the boat tour and had a lot of fun during those activities.
