Our new contemporary home sits on 36 acres with breathtaking views of the hills and valleys. It sits back from the road by 800’ and offers complete privacy.
Watching the sun set in the evening from the back deck or viewing the night sky filled with stars is something that will stay with you for a very long time.
The open kitchen is clean and beautiful with quartz counter tops and stainless appliances. It has all the necessary tools and equipment needed to make soup and a sandwich or a complete gourmet meal. The common living area lends itself to gatherings and conversations. The property also offers a gas grill, large picnic table and fire pit outback. There is a gas fireplace in the living room and a spa tub in the bathroom. The master bedroom has a king size bed with a large picture window overlooking the amazing view. The second bedroom has two twin beds and the loft has two twin beds. There is wireless internet and cable TV. The nightly rate includes all taxes and cleaning fees. I supply bed linens and towels as well as paper products (paper towels and toilet paper).
Location wise, the home is 8 miles from downtown Ithaca, 7 miles from Ithaca College, and 9 miles from Cornell University. The area offers great shopping, many museums, a hands on science center, wineries, and several state parks (lake and waterfall swimming), hiking, biking, and lots of music options.

I took my wife here for her 30th birthday and was blown away by the quality of the home and the how responsive Julie was to my inquiries. She was very knowledgeable of the area and I never felt out of touch. Getting to, and accessing, the property was very easy. Everywhere we went seemed to be no further than 15 minutes away which was perfect. However, driving was great as there is so many sites to see while driving around the Finger Lakes region. Words cannot describe the views from the back patio, and the only other time I have seen stars of that caliber was in the Manistee National Forest along Lake Michigan - ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE.
You will not see a single soul while staying at the house which was fantastic. We never ate out for dinner as we wanted to grill and eat while watching the sunsets every night.
The only item I would like to mention, not with a negative connotation but rather so others can be aware/prepared, is that this place sits on a large amount of acreage with very little disturbance. That being said (and maybe it was just the time of year), but the yellow jackets tended to overtake the back patio at particular times of the day so any food or drinks would attract them. We were able to manage this by placing a beer bottle with an inch of beer on one corner of the patio and sitting on the opposite side. They were not aggressive by any means - just more of an annoyance is all.
I believe my in-laws are already planning a trip to stay here from the photos we showed them and I will definitely be back as we only scratched the surface of all the hikes/sites/wineries/breweries etc (we stayed for 5 days).
Thank you for everything, Julie!
Our family of 5 fit comfortably in the home and thoroughly enjoyed our stay--what a breath of fresh air! With children ages 7, 4, and 21 months, we've outgrown a standard hotel room and renting a house was a great option. The location gave us access to downtown Ithaca, including the Commons, Cornell, state parks, and easy-to-access restaurants & grocery store (Wegmans). The view is so picturesque and we enjoyed sitting on the deck watching the sun set, storms roll in, and the full moon set during our stay. The location was private, but not completely remote. The fenced in yard was great for keeping tabs on our youngest, while the older kids explored the expansive property. Our family frequently ate at the picnic table outdoors. We weren't comfortable having our little ones sleep in the loft, but they thoroughly enjoyed spending time up there watching tv/movies. Wi-fi worked great and the kitchen was outfitted well (though we mostly ate out). There's no dishwasher, but that wasn't much of an inconvenience. The furnishings are updated and comfortable. During our stay we visited Watkins Glen, the Sciencenter, the Commons, Robert Trehman State Park, Stewart Park, local playgrounds, Uris Library and the Dairy Bar at Cornell. We ate at Ithaca Brewing Co, the Moosewood, Ithaca Bakery, Purity Ice Cream. Easy take-out options we used were Chipotle, Five Guys, and local pizza. I can only hope that we make it back some day--we had a terrific time and saw some amazing things. I would recommend this home to anyone coming to visit the Finger Lakes!
This is a well-designed, well-maintained house. I stayed here with my husband and 3 boys. It had all the comforts of home plus a stunning view of the mountains. It's situated close to Robert Truman, Buttermilk Falls, and Toughanock Falls State Parks. Only consideration is you must take a sturdy ladder to the third bedroom (my kids LOVED this). There is no dishwasher but this would not prevent me from renting this house again. Otherwise, the kitchen is fully equipped and a delight to cook in!
Wonderful house on beautiful piece of property overlooking gorgeous valley. The house was designed and constructed with top building materials and craftsmanship. We really appreciated the terrific heating and cooling system that handled the every changing weather in the area. I do wish it had an extra bathroom which was tough with two teens at time but other than that a great place to stay for my 30th Cornell Law reunion.
The house was clean and it felt like home. The property was beautiful and peaceful. We had a very relaxing weekend and house/landscape play a part in our Zen weekend.
In order to drop off a friend at Cornell grad school, a group of us left the bustle of Washington, DC to enjoy a weekend in the beautiful Finger Lakes region and we were NOT disappointed!
The house was well maintained and the view was perfect for sunsets. We spent a lot of time just grilling and making s'mores in the back, but enjoyed the well stocked games (everything from lacrosse gear to board games!). Ithaca was, as always, beautiful and the house had a great mix of tourist brochures so we could easily pick wineries, hikes and restaurants.
We all highly recommend the property and are trying to make this a yearly tradition!!
