Great Toddy Pond Lake House

  • 5 of 5

The house was wonderful. The house was nicer than the pictures show. Beautiful large kitchen with everything you could want. Loved the large white granite centerpiece. The walk down the lake is very pretty. Lots of ferns, and lichens and such. The dock is very nice, with canoes and kayaks with their own launch area and mini dock just 20 feet to the left of the main dock. Look for the sign that says canoes. The ceiling fans kept the house nice and cool even in late June. Kept the westerly shades closed and that kept the heat out. My son enjoyed swimming several times and I took a kayak out several times. We also liked the new three seasons screened in room. It is very nice and smells like cedar wood. Great place to hang out in the evening, before starting the nightly campfire. Probably ¾ of a cord of neatly stacked for the camp fire. For activities, we did Acadia National Park and drove to the top of Cadillac Mountain. It was really pretty. You can see Bar Harbor and all the surrounding islands. Look for the small summit brass marker behind the gift shop at the summit. It is a little hidden. We drove to Bar Harbor for lunch and it was great. Lot of nice shops, and restaurants. I would recommend Acadia during a week day in the summer as there were a fair number of people there. It was a bit crowded at the visitor center where you pay $25 for your day driving pass, but is well worth the visit. We finished driving the loop around the park and headed home. We didn’t hit low tide, so we missed the Wonderland tidal pools. It was a great visit, with no issues, in a very quiet area, with lake front views. What a bargain. The Howards St Louis Missouri

Absolutely lovely

  • 5 of 5

A beautiful home. Each time are needed something--there it was. Navigating the kitchen was so easy and cautionary notes were clear and oh so helpful. Young and old were extremely comfortable.

Fabulous experience!

  • 5 of 5

This property exceeded our expectations!!! It is spacious but cozy, comfortable and very well organized for guests. Situated on a lovely lake - beautiful scenery. House was clean, quiet, and provided just about everything. Worth every penny.

Most days we explored the area either by kayak, bicycling or walking and got to see plenty of wildlife each time. We also did Acadia Park, Schoodic Peninsula and Blue Hills trips - great experience. This is a fantastic place for a relaxing time in a wonderful peaceful location and we would without hesitation recommend it! Great place to stay

Relaxing week on scenic Toddy Pond.

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed a relaxing week, lake front on Toddy Pond in Orland, Maine. The house is nicely decorated and very well appointed. There were even fresh herbs to use for cooking! The screened-in porch allows for bug free outdoor eating and relaxing. We loved evening fires around the fire pit. We enjoyed kayaking and canoeing on the lake and listening to the loons.

The location allows you to travel for sight seeing, but to focus on enjoying the lake activities. Our family really enjoyed our stay.

Beautiful waterfront home nestled on a point surrounded by mature forest and fern-covered granite boulders. --Private setting yet convenient to many lovely ocean front communities and restaurants in Blue Hill, Ellsworth, Belfast.

Enjoy canoeing and kayaking on pristine Toddy Pond (included in rental fee), swimming from the dock, or wading in the small coves. (Sandy Beaches also in the area) Toddy Pond offers great fishing and bird watching. Enjoy relaxing around the campfire at night while being serenaded by very friendly and vocal loons.

Toddy Pond is a great launching point for day trips to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. There are numerous hiking trails in the area, many with incredible vistas. On rainy days, guests enjoy shopping in the wonderful gift, pottery and antique shops in Ellsworth, Searsport and Belfast area. Or, if you prefer, spend hours purusing books, antiques and collectibles at a favorite local attraction, 'The Chicken Barn' or visiting the Craig Pond Fish Hatchery. Other local offerings include movie theaters, outstanding chamber concerts, and numerous other types of entertainment.

In general, Toddy Pond is the perfect place for those who care to adventure as well as those who truly want to 'vacate' on their vacation. We've even provided the lake side hammock!
