About Laura Jenschke
I am a recently retired music professor from Texas Lutheran University. I love to sing, ride horses, fish, teach, run our guest houses and babysit our two grandchildren!
Laura Jenschke purchased this Farmhouse in 2005
Why Laura Jenschke chose Fredericksburg
We bought this property because of the beautiful houses, amazing trees, views and its short distance to downtown Fredericksburg. You are out in the country but minutes from town.
What makes this Farmhouse unique
The guest house has beautiful touches of wood trim and tile floors, high ceilings, beautiful views, peace and quiet. All duvay covers and pillow shams are laundered after each guest. The beds are extremely comfortable and luxurious. The new third bedroom is a very romantic and cozy retreat with ensuite bathroom. We just updated the kitchen with new granite countertops and finally a dishwasher!! We also provide a pac and play and high chair upon request!

Highly recommended place!!!!
This place is peaceful, beautiful, totally stocked with all you need, wonderful country views, close to town and most of all ......awesome owners who are there if you need them and not at all intrusive or anything negative at all. We loved it and will go back many times!!!!!
Thanks so much, Kim! You were wonderful guests! Please come back!
Serene yet very close to town
My family loved this property. You get to see farm animals, the horses are very friendly, and though it feels you are away from it all, Fredericksburg is 10 mins. away with very direct access. The fridge is stocked with everything you need for breakfast (eggs, milk, bacon, even OJ) and you can tell Laura and Daniel keep the house neat, we didn't see any bugs inside despite being in a ranch. Definitely recommend it.
We are so glad you enjoyed your stay! You were perfect guests! Please come back in the future!
Wonderful stay in hill country! Very accommodating hosts! Adorable home.
We stayed at the Moonrise Retreat for a girls weekend in the hill country. The house is so adorable! All of the beds are very comfortable. Laurie stocked the fridge with breakfast supplies, which made the mornings very easy and relaxing. The house is only a 10 minute drive into town, but you are far enough removed from the city. Overall it was a great stay and I would highly recommend it for your next trip to this area!
Wide open spaces
We really enjoyed Moonrise Retreat in Fredericksburg. The house was cozy and worked for us just great. I had a hard time finding a place with multiple king size beds and that would accept dogs, so thank you. The outdoor patio/porches were a nice addition too.
It wasn't the best place for a 11 month old to crawl around, but otherwise we enjoyed it. The kitchen was well equipped but older appliances. Overall it was a great place to stay and we enjoyed the goats, horses and cows out back!
Quiet and relaxing!
My two daughters, 3 granddaughters and I met for a weekend of relaxation and visiting and were not disappointed. Other than one run into town for charcoal, which we forgot to bring, we did not leave the property. We spent most of our time sitting outside on the porches and around the fire pit in the evening. The house is comfortable and cozy, very neat and clean. The beds were great and we so enjoyed the fresh eggs, bacon and breakfast items that were in the fridge for us! All of us couldn't have enjoyed our time more.
This property was perfect for us. We travelled with another couple, one couple on the first floor, one on the second. The house was stocked with quality linens and staples. The beds were very comfortable. The Weber charcoal grill was a nice surprise that we took advantage of. The views of the surrounding countryside were fantastic. We enjoyed petting the kitties and watching the horses, sheep and deer. We spent our days in the wineries and in town and returned in the evenings for relaxation, grilling and visiting. The property is very convenient to Fredericksburg and easy to find. We plan to return next time we visit. Thanks Laura for sharing your wonderful property :)
