This charming St John stone and masonry home offers a clean and comfortable place to stay with all of the amenities, but without the high price.

2 bedrooms upstairs share an over sized bathroom that features a classic Virgin Islands stone wall and his and her sinks. Each bedroom upstairs is air-conditioned and also designed to enjoy the fresh Caribbean tradewinds. The lower level bedroom has a cypress ceiling and a huge sun deck with a hot tub and a wet bar for entertaining.

Upstairs, the fully equipped kitchen is spacious with stainless steel appliances and room to cook any meal. The great room has a vaulted ceiling with warm sofit lighting, but the real treat is the wall of sliding glass/pocket doors that allow for open air living letting the in the Westerly water views and offering wonderful views of the fine sunsets. There is a covered dining deck just outside the great room which also dangles a hammock. Cocktails and dining on the deck are a real treat. On the back deck near the kitchen, a full size gas grill and small dining table offers sun when the covered decks have shade and shade from trees when the covered deck takes in the sun.

Stunning natural landscaping features multiple Flamboyant trees and numerous cacti where iguanas perch. The plants include the magical Night Blooming Cereus. Hopefully your stay will include a night bloom of these dinner plate sized flowers.

Easy parking for 2 cars, but room for 3 if needed.

Spectacular stay!

We enjoyed this magical place for 6 days and could not have been happier!! Yes, the drive up the house caused some nail-biting but it's a piece of cake in a 4WD vehicle. Stunning views and wonderful accommodations! Jared made sure we were all taken care of and we wanted for nothing..... every amenity was taken care of. Everything was so clean and well maintained....just be careful going down the steps to the hot tub from the upper level outside....just a wee tad slippery! Every morning, we made it our ritual to count how many iguanas would could find in the trees and cacti off of the deck - and hermit crabs!! =) We visited so many bars and eating establishments and were sure to cook many meals in the condo as well - anything we needed was right there. The Starfish Market isn't too far away, but for better prices, we'd recommend the St. John's Market which is a bit closer and much cheaper. We enjoyed the Beach Bar and "Victor's" in the parking lot of the ferries that go over to BVI.... everyone is so nice, friendly and accommodating on this island. Just remember though....everything goes on "island time" so don't be in any hurry! Be sure to see the Annandale Plantation and take the walk to Waterlemon Bay, Trunk Bay and Cinnamon Bay.... best time of our lives and spent with such special friends...and the wedding of my bestie to the love of her life to boot!! Woo hoo!

We really enjoyed staying at the villa. It looks even better in person. It is very clean and well maintained. Jarred is such a nice guy and was there for us at all times. I would definitely stay at this house in my next visit to St Johns. Island is small and all the beaches and attractions are very close.

Special Week in St. John

We really enjoyed our week in St. John, just outside Cruz Bay. Jared was very accommodating in helping us make last minute reservations at Sunset Cove. From the moment we arrived everything fell into place and we started the week off right. The villa is set up very nicely and worked well for our family of 4. It has a homey feeling and is well cared for inside and out. We took advantage of all the amenities, including the beautiful two-level deck, hot tub, grill and washer/dryer. The location is close to downtown Cruz Bay and an easy drive to all the beaches around the island. You will want to rent a Jeep or other capable SUV as the hilltop location requires it. We will certainly recommend the island and villa to friends looking for a beautiful, warm weather escape with snorkeling and sailing second to none!

Completely Comfortable and Carefully Cleaned

We stayed here for our first trip to St. John. The home was very clean and comfortable. We used the coolers and beach chairs daily. We enjoyed the decks and hot tub in the evenings. The kids ( 7 & 11 ) loved the iguanas and hermit crabs around the house. The house is fairly easy to get too and close to town. There are other homes fairly close but the forest is thick around the house so you have plenty of privacy. We would stay here again and can't wait till we can come back!

We loved it!

This was my first time coordinating a vacation for 5 people using VRBO and I was very pleased with all aspects of our vacation! Jared and Keith were excellent to work with in terms of planning our stay-- flexible, accommodating, and easy to communicate with. We were greeted at the ferry dock by Keith, who drove us to our car rental and then escorted us to the property in Chocolate Hole. The place was everything we were looking for and more-- gorgeous sunset views, beautiful and well-maintained property, large, comfortable and well-decorated common spaces, outdoor grill, hammocks, beach chairs, etc. We loved watching the iguanas lounging in the tree off of the large upstairs balcony. The kitchen was very well appointed and served all of our needs, and the large upstairs bathroom was perfect.

There are very few downsides (if any) to the property itself. The lower bedroom did not have air-conditioning which was only a problem for one warmer night (typically the breeze is enough to cool the rooms down at night!). I would point out that you definitely need a Jeep or SUV to get up Iguana road to the villa. We spent minimal time at the nearest walkable local beach, which was not one of St. John's finest. All of the local beaches that used to be accessible to the public (Fish Bay, Ditleff point) are now private access only, which means that the closest nice beaches are a good 10-15 minute drive on the other side of Cruz Bay.

Overall, we were very pleased with our time at this villa in Chocolate Hole and will definitely consider coming back in the future!

Beautiful home, great view of the sunset

We had a great stay at Sunset Cove. The 3 bedrooms were all good sized, the kitchen was very well-stocked, and the bathrooms were excellent (especially the upper floor, which has a huge shower). The home is immaculately maintained, and the enormous porch is a perfect place to eat dinner and watch the sunset. My only advice is that you rent a jeep or other SUV, as a car is barely capable of getting up the road and into the driveway without bottoming out several times. In all, a great stay at a great price.

Sunset Cove is located in the exclusive Chocolate Hole area of St John. From the villa you can walk down to two different natural beaches; Chocolate Hole and Hart Bay, although not everyone will want to walk back up:) You can easily access the Virgin Islands National Park without hiking though, and get to some of the World's best white sand beaches, hiking and water sports such as sailing, snorkeling, diving. The small town of Cruz Bay is just under 1 mile away, with many shops, restaurants, bars and access to an array of adventurous activities. The still-pristine island of St. John is the smallest of the three U.S. Virgin Islands and lies just 3 miles east of St. Thomas and a mile from the nearest of the British Virgin Islands. Nearly two-thirds of the island is national park, with forests and nature trails for your enjoyment. Nature lovers will be amazed by St. John's ecological diversity. Staying at Sunset Cove, you face West to enjoy nightly sunsets and star viewing from the deck.
