We stayed the last week of October, gorgeous mild weather. The house is tucked away and feels mostly private from the otherwise nearby neighbors. During our stay, none of the other houses were occupied, making for a quiet, peaceful stay. The location is convenient, shopping and restaurants nearby. We much enjoyed the view of the small pond across the street, and taking our two small dogs for walks around the neighborhood.
Relaxing Japanese Minimalism
There are 2 "firsts" for us: 1) we have not been to the Cape and 2) we have never used vrbo. I was looking for places to stay at Wellfleet (per recommendation) but the lodging did not seem very appealing. Until I found this place. Gosh what a find!
First off the dialogue with Stefane leading up to the stay was very friendly and he was quick to respond to any questions I had. He even helped me modify the dates we would stay there!
Now the house was something out of a NYTimes magazine article I had read about sustainability or modernism as a kid. The architecture is so thoughtfully planned. It is modern although invites you to be engrossed in the natural settings around you. My husband and I are ones who will always find ourselves working on our computers while on vacation. We were so relaxed on this trip we did not open our laptops once!!!! Once the kids were asleep I went upstairs and enjoyed reading me some Malcolm Gladwell. The setting helps simplify your life and lets you slow down a little. My toddler loved the open space. The chalkboard and blocks are enough for our child to be engaged while we were indoors.
The location is closed to the beach and beautiful walking trails - also kid friendly. It is also not very far at all from Provincetown so we had a lunch or 2 there. But we were able to make our breakfasts and dinners in the beautiful kitchen. Appliances make for healthy eating - so no microwave in site.
We had the best trip to the Cape. This home made it one that was both enjoyable and relaxing. Will definitely hope to revisit in the future.
My favorite feature of the home is the walled courtyard. It allowed defused natural light during the day and we could open the full- height screen doors at night while still maintaining a sense of privacy and security. Stefane was accessible and exceptionally accommodating. All around magical week! Thank you!
A little piece of Heaven!
Stefane’s House is a true get away! You feel as if your staying in a sprawling bungalow in the Hollywood Hills; only its better because you’re on The Cape! It’s immaculate; it’s a place where you feel you’re treating yourself! Plenty of room- you can play games with the family or escape to quiet corner or outdoor lounge to read or nap! The Kitchen has it all! The Bathroom is a spa! We cannot wait to go back! Stefane is available if you have a question; very helpful!
We cannot wait to return! Best place we have stayed on The Cape- we didn’t want to leave!
Serene, immaculate home and in WellFleet !
Stefane is a great host. You will have all the information you need, when you need it, easily available if you need him during your stay and checks in appropriately. We were fortunate enough to stay for 4 weeks this July. Reliable internet which was important as I was working remotely for the month. Despite that I was still so happy to walk up from the lower level each morning to an expansive open single room with the kitchen, dining area, living room and deck with the sun-rising just off the E-SE facing deck. Early AM walks around the neighborhood. Many have commenting on the gentle rain shower in the bathroom. They are not understating the joy it brings. The kitchen is well stocked with nearly every gadget and cookware you would need....small food processor, hand pasta maker, mortar and pestle, springform pan...you get the sense. Wellfleet is such a charming Cape town. I love the outer cape beaches. Town beach parking passes are available from 3 days to the full season. Not cheap but towns need to make money. Plus some of the best town beaches do not allow day passes, some do. But you can always hit the national park beaches for a single $20/day. Nice hiking trails along the bay side. They are all close by. P-town just 20 minutes up the road. 4 weeks, no regrets and I am a better person for it ! Thanks Stefane !
Gorgeous house and wonderful host
The house is beautifully designed, spacious, and full of natural light and has incredible view. Super comfy and impeccably clean as well. Stéfane is a great host - very welcoming and helpful. My family and I are looking forward to returning!
