About the property

Condo, 1 Bedroom + Convertible bed(s), 2 Baths, (Sleeps 2-4)

Wailea Ekolu is a quiet low density condominium complex located in South Maui. Our unit offers gorgeous ocean views and all the comforts of home. Located away from street and pool noise, on the 16th Tee of the 'Old Wailea Blue' golf course. Close to shopping, beaches, restaurants and great golf. This is an UPSTAIRS UNIT (less noise, better views, high ceilings). There are two swimming pools in the complex. One is located conveniently close to our unit. There is no better place to enjoy a good cup of coffee, book, or meal, than on our lanai overlooking the ocean, especially during whale season! Everything Hawaii has to offer, without the crowds.

About Ken Davis

We came to Maui for our Honeymoon in 1977. We would vacation in Maui as often as possible. Each time we wanted to stay longer and longer. We now live on Maui about half time. We love Maui and particularly Wailea. It is the perfect place to relax and play!

Ken Davis purchased this condo in 1999

Why Ken Davis chose Maui

We were drawn to South Maui because of the beautiful beaches, snorkeling and golf. We also like the convenience to other parts of the island.

What makes this condo unique

Our rental unit has a huge ocean view, on the Wailea Blue golf course. It is close to the beaches, walking trail, shopping, and restaurants. Recently remodeled.

Ekolu is the best

  • 5 of 5

This is the 2nd year we have stayed in this unit and everything is as described. We love it here. If you want quiet, views and a great location this is home. You feel more like a local than a tourist but you are so close to any of the tourist activities & resturants you may want to explore. We will come back again & again.

Mahalo Ken & Sue you are wonderful hosts

5 Day Retreat

  • 4 of 5

My husband and I had a lovely, relaxing stay where we could whale watch from the balcony. The grounds are beautiful and restaurants or coffee shops within walking distance. Beautiful beaches are a short drive away or a walk if you leave all the gear behind. The condo has not been updated but owners have done a nice job with decorating. We would stay here again.

A beautiful and quiet view.

  • 4 of 5

My husband and I felt very comfortable at this property. The view does look like this photo. It sits behind part of a golf course but its not a busy one and it does not feel intrusive. Even though it is a condo, the way it is situated feels very private. A good view of the ocean.

It does need a bit of TLC. It is an older property and maybe a little updating would be nice, but we thought it was a good value and we don't need anything new. Loved the view which is very important to us. In the morning, it has shade so there is time to sip coffee and read while checking the whale action. You can also see the sunsets from here.

The bed was very comfortable. We liked having 2 bathrooms as well. The kitchen was serviceable for us although we usually just do breakfast and light snacks for dinner. Ants are always a problem in Hawaii everywhere, but we were meticulous in keeping the kitchen clean and had no problems other than the occasional scouts.

There are 2 air conditioning wall units. One in the living room and one in the bedroom. They were a bit noisy but not that bad. We actually didn't really need them on too much. Usually for a couple of hours in the afternoon and we closed the door to the bedroom and ran it for awhile at night because I like to sleep cool. There are plenty of fans so we used them more.

The location is good for us as my husband golfs. There are many walking paths around the condo. I prefer to hop in the car (5 min. drive) at 7am when they unlock the gates at the beach and walk along the beach path. Its fabulous.

The owners are very sweet and responsive so if there is a problem, I feel confident that they would respond promptly.

We have rebooked for next year as it hits all the right notes for us.

Beautiful and serene

  • 5 of 5

This condo sits a little bit up the hill and it has sweeping views of the ocean. There is absolutely no traffic noise, and the lanai is large and private. There are great restaurants just around the corner (Fabianis and Pita Paradise), and it is a short drive to amazing beaches. I loved it, and I look forward to coming back.

Great view - amazing breakfasts on the Lanai!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed recently at Ken's place during Christmas! It was fantastic! My family enjoyed our breakfasts out on the lanai, with unobstructed views of the ocean! During our holiday, we could even see whales! Sunsets were even better! Overall, Ken's place is great, well stocked with all of the supplies including beach gear! It was close to the beaches, shopping the city center all within 5mins. We would not hesitate to stay again, the next time we are in Wailea!

Life on the lanai

  • 4 of 5

One might not want to spend all one's waking hours on the lanai, gazing out at ocean, sky and fairway goings-on. Breakfast, lunch, and sunset drinks will do just fine, leaving time for beaches and the rest of Maui. And, yes, the 1512 lanai fronts a handsomely appointed, well provided for living quarters. Patricia and I missed it all as soon as we walked out into the 40 degree California night air on our return home.
