We had a wonderful stay at this restored fisherman's home on the water. This spacious, immaculately clean two story home was nicely furnished and you could see that a great deal of care was taken in restoring it. An added bonus was the ability to view beautiful sunsets from the shore behind the home. Tom and Donna were great resources for information on places to see and best restaurants in the area. Our only regret was that our 3 day stay at this lovely home was not long enough. We highly recommend this property to anyone visiting the Peggy's Cove area.
3 couples with 3 motorcycles, and 1 support vehicle were looking for a Maritime Experience. Wow were we blessed to enjoy this extraordinary property! The excitement and experience didn't stop from the moment we arrived. We were warmly greeted by the owners of the property and had the privilege of meeting many of our neighbors who made us feel like we were part of their community. The location was perfect for early morning running to Peggy's Cove and evening sunsets on the bay. This house was perfect for 3 couples in all ways. If you want to discover the South Shore of Nova Scotia, I can't imagine there would be a better place. Be sure to ask questions because you will find that the local people will be proud to share their knowledge of the area. Restaurants and fresh sea food were within minutes of the house. Day trips to discover Halifax, Mahone Bay, and Lunenburg were easy and relaxing. Words can't express the appreciation we feel towards Josephine, Joe, Tom, TJ (thanks for the "Jump" pictures), Vern, Olga, Peter, Scott and Kim. The evening we spent together was unforgettable. Whether you want to simply relax and enjoy the ocean, run, hike, kayak or take pictures of the beautiful landscape it is all within a short distance of this lovingly restored fisherman's home.
What a beautiful place. The house was perfect -- very clean and spacious. A bit rustic but what we were looking for. The location is excellent -- right on the water with the sound of waves audible through the open windows in the evenings and a short walk up the road to Peggy's Cove. We would highly recommend this property for a nice quiet comfortable getaway.
The house itself is charming, very clean and has the best view of the water while being protected from the wind. The location is an amazing home base for day trips to Halifax, Lunenburg etc. We walked the rocks into Peggy's Cove each day - what a unique opportunity to have available. A small community that provided a relaxing atmosphere while having a few excellent restaurants nearby, fresh cooked lobster store, a general store within walking distance and Tom across the street who was informative and very hospitable. I have no suggestions for improvement as it was completely PERFECT!
We recently stayed at the house for one week and had a great time. The house is very charming with excellent views. Lots to do in the nearby area including hiking, kayaking, sightseeing. Tom and Donna across the street have great hospitality and couldn't have been nicer or more helpful.
We found Rhubarbs had great food, atmosphere and fairly reasonably priced. We also liked nearby Ryers for fresh lobsters and Edna in Halifax.
This old fisherman's home was the ideal setting for our trip to Nova Scotia. The four of us stayed six nights and wished we could have stayed two weeks. The home was Great and met all our expectations with no regrets. We visited Lunenburg, Mahone Bay and Fort Anne. Our best afternoon was spent along the seashore between the home and Peggy's Cove. Awesome views. Would highly recommend the home and area for a great visit to the Nova Scotia. Tom and Donna, across the street were a wealth of information and made us Cajuns feel right at home. Hope to visit again in the future.
