Great location in terrific neighorhood. Loved it

Very nice brownstone, secure in a quiet block. Remodeled bathroom - great shower and comfy bed. Lived in NY for 27 years and love the upper west side. Tons of restaurants, Lincoln center, shopping, movies etc. you can walk everywhere.

Spring Break 2017

  • 5 of 5

My daughter and I loved this apartment. Such a quiet street but close to the park and amenities. We loved the high ceilings and wood floors and the bed was super comfortable! After a long day out, it was always lovely to come home to our own quiet space to unwind. Would love to come again...

Best Place to Stay

  • 5 of 5

Charming, charming , and charming! It's a beautiful old Brownstone yet has all the updated and modern conveniences. Other reviews are correct. It is very quiet yet close to everything you'll need. The subway and Trader Joe's is just a short walk. We also walked to Central Park because it is so close.

Quiet apartment in great Upper West neighborhood

  • 5 of 5

Because there are few reviews of this on VRBO (log book in apartment shows many rentals), I've included a few extra details.  Bottom line: we will stay here again. The apartment is offered by a management company.  Although this likely increases the price, the assistance offered in regards to email, telephone and the set-up and maintenance of the apartment is a good tradeoff. This apartment in the back of the second floor of a brownstone is located in a toney and quiet residential Westside neighborhood with very convenient access to transportation, shopping and restaurants. No street  noise whatsoever. The floor plan itself is small but  efficient (the pictures on the website are accurate).  A big plus in summer are the two  quiet AC units: one  in the  main room /kitchenette area and one in the  small  bedroom.  They are more than adequate. (I don't know about cold weather heating.)  The supply of  small items had hits and misses. The bedroom and living room, the latter with its small barstool dining table,  are  excellent spaces to spend the few hours you will stay in the apartment. Although the appliances in the kitchenette are good, the counter space for food preparation is very small. While toasting bread, making an omelet on the 4 burner cooktop, boiling a cup of  water or preparing a frozen dinner (yuck) in the  microwave is simple, preparing a more involved meal is not easy. The cabinets over the counter are very high: you need a step stool (supplied) to access beyond the first shelf. These last few comments on the kitchenette may not be applicable to many renters. We found it a minor inconvenience.  It's a great place to stay.  We will surely come back to stay here.

Thumbs UP

  • 5 of 5

We loved the location and the apartment. I mentioned a night stand with a lamp would be really helpful and a few hooks in which to hang those great Frette towels.

We already have our reservations for October....so looking forward to our next visit.

Highly recommend this well run Herrick Property -
